Save a Version of a Visualization Map

If, as you work with a visualization map, you create a version of it that you want to preserve, you can save it as a set of saved options from the Visualization window. You can then switch from one set of saved options for that map to another while you work with the map in the Visualization window.

The option to save a set of options is only available if the visualization map is a favorite. You cannot save and load sets of options in the Visualization window when you work with maps that are not based on a favorite.

To save a version of a visualization map as a set of saved options, complete the following steps:

  1. If the Load Settings button and Save Settings button are not displayed in the upper-right corner of the Visualization window, do the following and then regenerate the map:
    • If Show slider and load setting controls is not selected on the General tab of the Options dialog box, select that check box.

    • If you have not already done so, save the visualization map as a favorite.

  2. Make sure that the visualization map is displayed the way you want it.
  3. Click the Save Settings button to open the Save Settings dialog box.
  4. If you want to save the current version as a new set of options, enter a name for the saved options in Name.

If you want to replace a previously saved set of options with the current version, select the previously saved set of options in the list.

  5. If you want the set of options to be available to all users who have access to the visualization map, select the Save Globally check box.
  6. Click Save to save the set of options.
