Toolbar of Reporting Form or Dialog Box

Use the options on the Reporting toolbar to initiate an action for the selected report.

The report options dialog box for the selected report may open before you can complete the selected action. On the report options dialog box, make any required entries and then click Run. Then, the appropriate dialog box opens for the toolbar action that you selected.

Field Description
Preview Click this option to display the report in a Preview page.
Print Click this option to display the Print dialog box.

If your firm uses the Deltek First Vision Essentials cloud version of Vision, the Print option is not available. You can preview reports onscreen and then print the reports from the Preview window.

Schedule This option displays the Schedule dialog box, on which you can specify when you want Vision to generate the report. You can also use the Schedule dialog box to add a report to a profile (a group of reports) that you want to generate on a regular basis.

If your firm uses the Deltek First Vision Essentials cloud version of Vision, the Schedule option is not available. You can send a scheduled report via an email message but you cannot send it directly to a printer.

Email This option displays the Email Report dialog box, which you can use to distribute a report as an email attachment or to send a link to the report in an email message.

For project reports, this option displays a menu of distribution options. You can select a category of recipients or you can select To Specific Address.

If you use the Deltek First Vision Essentials cloud version of Vision, this button changes to Email/Schedule. You can send a scheduled report via email but cannot send it directly to a printer.

Download This option displays the download dialog box, which you can use to save any Vision report in a variety of file formats.
Create Report Archive This option to archive reports is available only if you are using the Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition of Microsoft SQL Server.

Click this option to display the Archive Report dialog box, which you use to save a report temporarily so that you can quickly regenerate it with the original data. Your archived reports are displayed on the Archived Reports tab in Reporting.

Vision saves each archived report the number of hours you specify when you create the archived copy.

Help This option displays an overview help topic for the type of reports listed in the Reports grid.
