Contents

Field Description
Report Name You can change the default report name.
Create Activity To create activities in the Calendar/Activities application when you generate the report, select this check box. When you generate the report, Vision displays the Activity dialog box so you can enter the activity information. Vision then creates an activity for each opportunity included on the report.
Grid Type

Specify the type of data for which you want to show additional columns.

The sorting and grouping criteria available for the report vary, based on your setting for this option. For example, contact-related criteria are available if you select Contacts, while opportunity-related criteria are available if you select Opportunities.

The columns that are available on the Columns tab are also based on this option's setting.

Only List <Grid Type> That Match Selections Select this option to filter the report based on the options that you selected in the Grid Type field and the Selection field of the Reports grid, from the Reporting application. The report will be filtered based on the Grid Type field and the open or selected record.
Report In Select the currency to use for amounts:
  • Opportunity Currency — The currency specified in Currency on the General tab of the Opportunity Info Center.
  • Presentation Currency — The currency you select in Presentation Currency.
Presentation Currency If you selected Presentation Currency in Report in, select the three-character ISO code for the currency. (The list includes only the currencies that are enabled for your enterprise.)

All amounts on the report will be presented in this currency. Vision calculates the exchanges between the opportunity currency and the presentation currency based on the date you specify in Exchange Rate as of.

Exchange Rate as of If you selected Presentation Currency in Report in, specify the date Vision should use to calculate exchanges between the presentation currency you select and the opportunity currency. Vision determines the correct exchange rates in the daily exchange rate table based on this date.
Print Final Totals Select this check box if you want a line at the end of the report that shows total amounts for the entire report.
Summarize Opportunity Detail Select this check box to generate a summary version of the report.
Options Section All of the fields in the Options section control the calculation of the hit rate for a grouping level that you select for the report on the Sorting/Grouping tab of the Opportunity Hit Rate List Options dialog box. The fields in the Options section filter the opportunities to include in the hit rate calculation, not the opportunities to include in the report. To select the opportunities to include in the report, use the Selection field for the Opportunity Hit Rate List in Reports grid on the Opportunity Reporting form as you normally would with other Vision reports.

Fields in the Options Section

  • Stage Options: Only the opportunities in the stages that you select in this field are included in the hit rate calculation for the report. For example, if you select Awarded and Lost, only awarded and lost opportunities are included in the hit rate calculation. You specify the current stage for an opportunity on the General tab of the Opportunity Info Center. How the stages are used in the hit rate calculation is described in the Calculated Value field description further below.

Click , and select several stages in the Lookup dialog box. Leave this field blank to include opportunities in all stages in the hit rate calculation.

  • Date Field: Select the type of opportunity date (such as Close Date or Estimated Completion Date) to affect the calculated value for hit rates on the report. The hit rate calculation includes only the opportunities that have this type of date within the time frame that you enter in the Date Options field and/or the date range fields in this section.

If you leave Date Field blank, the report does not use any date field in the hit rate calculation and all opportunities in the selected stages are included in the calculation.

  • Date Options: If you selected a type of date in Date Field, select the reporting period in the Date Options field for calculating the value for hit rates. For example, if you select Estimated Start Date in Date Field and Next 14 Days in Date Options, the report uses only the opportunities with an estimated start date that falls within the next two weeks to calculate the hit rate.
  • From/to: If you selected Range in Date Options, enter the start date and end date of the range for calculating hit rates. Click the calendar icons to select the dates from a calendar.
  • Core Value: The drop-down list in this field contains the stages that you selected in the Stage Options field. Select one stage to use for a grouping level's hit rate calculation. How this stage is used in the calculation is described in the Calculated Value field description that follows.
  • Calculated Value: Select the type of value for calculating hit rates for a grouping level.

    The options are:

    • Percent: The hit rate calculation is based on the number of opportunities for a grouping level that fall between the dates that you entered in Date Options or From/to for the type of date that you selected in Date Field. From that group of opportunities, the hit rate is calculated as: (Number of opportunities for a grouping level that are assigned the stage that you entered in Core Value / Number of opportunities that are assigned the stages that you entered in Stage Options) x 100.
    • Revenue: The hit rate calculation is based on the estimated revenue for opportunities for a grouping level that fall between the dates that you entered in Date Options or From/to for the type of date that you selected in Date Field. From that group of opportunities, the hit rate is calculated as: (Estimated revenue for opportunities for a grouping level that are assigned the stage that you entered in Core Value / Estimated revenue for opportunities that are assigned the stages that you entered in Stage Options) x 100.
    • Weighted Revenue: The hit rate calculation is based on the weighted revenue for opportunities for a grouping level that fall between the dates that you entered in Date Options or From/to for the type of date that you selected in Date Field. From that group of opportunities, the hit rate is calculated as: (Weighted revenue for opportunities for a grouping level that are assigned the stage that you entered in Core Value / Weighted revenue for opportunities that are assigned the stages that you entered in Stage Options) x 100.

For all value types, the calculation multiplies by 100 to display the hit rate as a percentage.

Hit Rate Calculation Examples

Suppose you do the following on the Opportunity Hit Rate List Options dialog box:

  • Sort and group by organization (on the Sorting/Grouping tab).
  • On the General tab, select:
    • All stages in Stage Options
    • Awarded in Core Value
    • Percentage in Calculated Value
    • Close Date in Date Field
    • This Month in Date Options

When you generate the Opportunity Hit Rate List report:

  • The hit rate that is calculated for each organization is the percentage of all the organization's opportunities that were closed this month that are in the awarded stage. If an organization had 100 opportunities in all stages that closed this month and of this 100, there were 25 awarded opportunities, the hit rate is 25 percent—(25/100) x 100.
  • If you selected Revenue instead of Percent in the Calculated Value field: The hit rate that is calculated for each organization is the percentage of the estimated revenue for all the opportunities that were closed this month that are in the awarded stage. If the estimated revenue for the 25 awarded opportunities is $2,500,000 and the estimated revenue for the 100 opportunities is $5,000,000, the hit rate is 50 percent—($2,500,000/$5,000,000) x 100.
  • If you select Weighted Revenue instead of Percent in Calculated Value: The hit rate that is calculated for each organization is the percentage of the weighted revenue for all the opportunities that were closed this month that are in the awarded stage. If the weighted revenue for the 25 awarded opportunities is $1,000,000 and the estimated revenue for the 100 opportunities is $8,000,000, the hit rate is 12.5 percent—($1,000,000/$8,000,000) x 100.
Client Hierarchy Lookup If you are using client hierarchies and you want to generate the report for a client hierarchy, select a client in that hierarchy.

The report includes the entire hierarchy of which the selected client is a part.

Example: If you select Navy, the report includes Navy and the entire hierarchy associated with Navy. That is, it includes both parent records and child records. If Department of Defense is the parent of Navy, and Navy is the parent of NAVSEA, the following are true:

  • If you select Department of Defense in the Client Hierarchy Lookup, the report includes detail for all clients associated with Department of Defense, Navy, and NAVSEA.
  • If you select Navy on the lookup, the report shows a header but no detail for Department of Defense and includes complete details for Navy and NAVSEA.
  • You cannot select NAVSEA, because it is not the parent of another client.
