Inflow and Outflow Data Sources for the Cash Flow Forecast

The Cash Flow Forecast report includes amounts for cash inflow, cash outflow, other changes in cash, and a net cash total. The accounts receivable, accounts payable, and salary cost ranges contain a formula that generates the amounts from the general ledger budget, based on average collection days and average payment days.

Inflow Data Sources

Table Description
AR – Year-to-Date and This Period The year-to-date and current period amounts on the Increase/decrease in accounts receivable row are the sum of cash receipts (CR transaction type) posted to the AR accounts specified on the Invoice Mapping Accounts tab of the Accounts Receivable Configuration form (Configuration > Accounting > Accounts Receivable).
AR – Future Periods The future period amounts on the Increase/decrease in accounts receivable row are the sum of budget amounts posted to revenue accounts.

Outflow Data Sources

Table Description
AP– Year-to-Date and This Period The year-to-date and current period amounts on the Increase/decrease in accounts payable row are the sum of payment processing transactions (PP transaction type) posted to the accounts specified on the Liability Codes tab of the Company AP Configuration form (Configuration > Accounting > Company AP).
AP – Future Periods The future period amounts on the Increase/decrease in accounts payable row are the sum of budget amounts posted to reimbursable expense, reimbursable consultants expense, direct expense, direct consultants expense, and indirect expense accounts, excluding the following salary-related accounts:
  • Direct and indirect expense accounts specified on the Employee Types form (Configuration > Accounting > Employee Types).
  • Accounts specified on the Time Analysis Setup tab of the Time Analysis and Benefit Accrual form (Configuration > Accounting > Time Analysis).
  • Labor expense credit account assigned on the Posting tab of the Accounting Company Settings form (Configuration > Accounting > Company Settings).
Salary Cost – Year-to-Date and This Period The year-to-date and current period amounts on the Increase/decrease in salary cost row are the sum of amounts posted to the following salary-related accounts:
  • Direct and indirect expense accounts specified on the Employee Types form (Configuration > Accounting > Employee Types).
  • Accounts specified on the Time Analysis Setup tab of the Time Analysis and Benefit Accrual form (Configuration > Accounting > Time Analysis).
  • Labor expense credit account assigned on the Posting tab of the Accounting Company Settings form (Configuration > Accounting > Company Settings).
Salary Cost – Future Periods The future period amounts on the Increase/decrease in salary cost row are the sum of budget amounts posted to the following salary-related accounts:
  • Direct and indirect expense accounts specified on the Employee Types form (Configuration > Accounting > Employee Types).
  • Accounts specified on the Time Analysis Setup tab of the Time Analysis and Benefit Accrual form (Configuration > Accounting > Time Analysis).

Other Changes in Cash Data Sources

Table Description
Year-to-Date and This Period The year-to-date and current period amounts on the Other Changes in Cash row are the sum of amounts posted to the accounts specified on the Bank Codes form (Configuration > Accounting > Banks), excluding the following:
  • Amounts included in Year-to-Date and This Period for accounts receivable on the Increase/decrease in accounts receivable row.
  • Amounts included in Year-to-Date and This Period for accounts payable on the Increase/decrease in accounts payable row.
  • Amounts included in Year-to-Date and This Period for salary cost on the Increase/decrease in salary cost row.
