Create a New Project from an Opportunity

You can create a new project from an existing opportunity.

If the opportunity is associated with a project plan, the opportunity data brought into the project record includes all prior client, contact, and employee relationships.

To create a new project from an opportunity, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Info Center > Projects.
  2. Click New and select Create Project from.
  3. On the Create Project from dialog box, set the Copy From field to Opportunity.
  4. In the Opportunity field, click Search to open the Opportunity lookup and select the opportunity that you want to use to create the new project record.
  5. Complete the remaining fields on the Copy Project from dialog box (for the new project record).
  6. Click OK. Vision closes the Create Project from dialog box and opens a new project record. Vision enters the opportunity's information in the new project record.
  7. On the tabs of the Project Info Center form, enter additional information about the new project.
  8. Click Save.
