Process Payroll Direct Deposit

To process direct deposit, you first process payroll and print payments, then process direct deposits.

To process payroll direct deposit, complete the following steps:

  1. Make sure that Create checks instead of direct deposit for this run is not selected.   
  2. Process payroll payments and print payments for the payment run.
  3. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Human Resources > Payroll > Direct Deposit.
  4. In the Effective Entry Date field, enter the date on which entries are to be posted to employee accounts.
  5. On the Payroll Runs this Period grid, select a payroll run to process.
  6. Edit data in additional fields on the Payroll Direct Deposit Processing form.

    Additional fields appear only if a Bank Code is not established in Payroll Setup (Configuration > Payroll > General tab) or the Individual Organization Setup form (Configuration > Organization > Individual > Units & PayrolI) if you are posting payroll to an organization-specific bank.

  7. Click Report to review employees and amounts to be processed.
  8. To create the file to send to the bank, click Process.
  9. On the Download Direct Deposit Files dialog box, click the link for the file that you want to create.
  10. On the File Download dialog box, click one of the following options:
    Option Description
    Open this file from its current location Opens the file in the appropriate program. For example, if your payroll file is a text file ( TXT), the file opens in Notepad.
    Save this file to disk Saves the file to the location you specify. If you select this option, you are prompted to browse to a location on your local or network drive. Click Save when finished.
  11. Click OK.
