Copy an Opportunity Record

You can copy and modify an existing opportunity record to create a new record.

If Vision detects possible duplicate records during this procedure, the Potential Duplicate Records Found dialog box displays. This dialog box lists any existing record that already has the identifier that you are trying to use for a new record.

Copying an opportunity with attached documents does not copy the documents to the new opportunity.

To copy an opportunity record, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Info Center > Opportunities.
  2. On the Opportunity Info Center form, select the opportunity record.
  3. Click New and select Copy Current Opportunity. Vision copies the selected opportunity record to a new opportunity record.
  4. In the Name field on the General tab, specify a unique identifier for the new record, then edit the rest of the opportunity information, on all tabs.
  5. Click Save.
When you copy an opportunity that is linked to a Kona space, the new opportunity is not automatically linked to that space. You can use the Create Kona Space option on the New menu to create a new space and link it to the opportunity, or you can select an existing Kona space in the Kona Space field.
