Add Submitter Alert Dialog Box

Use this dialog box to have a notification alert sent to the employee who submitted the purchasing or inventory item when the approval step starts or ends.

After you complete the information on this dialog box and add the notification alert to an approval step, click the Email and/or Dashboard hyperlinks in the Edit Content field in the Step Actions grid to select the employees to send the alert to and create the specific message to include in the alert.

Location

To display the dialog box, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Configuration > Workflow > Approval Workflows.
  2. On the Approvals Configuration form, open an existing approval workflow or create a new one.
  3. Open the Workflow tab and add an approval step for the workflow in the Approval Steps grid.
  4. On the toolbar of the Steps Actions grid, click Insert, and then click Submitter Notification on the shortcut menu.

Field Description
Notify Submitter When: Select one of the following options to determine whether to have the alert sent when the approval step starts or ends:
  • Step Starts
  • Step Ends
Notification Method Select one or both of the following methods for sending the submitter notification alert:
  • Email
  • Dashboard
OK Click this button to save the entries on this dialog box and add the notification alert to the approval step. You are returned to the Workflow tab where you now see the submitter notification alerts (email, dashboard, or both) added to the end of the Step Actions grid.
Cancel Click this button to return to the Workflow tab without adding the submitter notification alert to the approval step.
