Prevent Blank Rows from Displaying between the Rows of Data for Each Grid Record in a Merged Document

When you add grid field merge codes to an Adobe InDesign merge template and there are multiple records in the grid, a blank row displays between the rows of grid data for each grid record in the merged document.

This topic applies for merged documents that you create with an Adobe InDesign merge template.

To prevent blank rows from displaying in a merged document between the rows of grid data when an InDesign merge template contains grid field merge codes:

  1. Complete the steps in the "Insert Merge Codes for Vision Grids in an Adobe InDesign Merge Template" topic to add grid field merge codes to a merge template.
  2. In the InDesign active text frame for the merge template, place your mouse pointer directly in front of the [End] code for the grid field merge code, and press the BACKSPACE key on your keyboard until [END] is directly beside the last grid data merge code (no space between them).
  3. Press the ENTER key on your keyboard. This adds a hard return that indicates to Vision that no blank rows should be placed in between the grid records when merged.
