Billing Labor View Dialog Box

Use the Billing Labor View dialog box to view labor detail that is entered for a labor transaction, such as the transaction date, the employee number, and the hours worked associated with the labor transaction.

Location

To display the dialog box, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Billing > Interactive Billing.
  2. Complete the information on the Billing Session Options dialog box, and click OK.
  3. On the Interactive Billing form, select a project in the Search field.
  4. Click the Labor tab.
  5. Select a transaction from the grid.
  6. On the toolbar, click View.

Fields

Field Description
Project This field displays the project associated with the transaction.
Phase This field displays the phase, if any, associated with the transaction.
Task This field displays the task, if any, associated with the transaction.
Employee This field displays the employee number of the employee who worked the hours specified in the Hours field. The employee name displays next to the Employee field.
Labor Code This field displays the labor code associated with the labor transaction, if labor codes are being used.
Date This field displays the date of the labor transaction. For example, the date of the transaction entered on a timesheet, or the date specified for the transaction on a Billing Labor insert.
Comment This text box field displays the comment entered, if any, with the transaction when the transaction was entered in a timesheet or Billing Labor insert.

You can view the full formatted comment in this field by clicking Review on the text box heading to access the Text Viewer dialog box.

Hours — Regular, Overtime, and Overtime-2 These fields display the number of regular, overtime, and overtime-2 hours that are charged to the project by the employee as specified on a timesheet or on a Billing Labor insert.
Rate — Regular, Overtime, and Overtime-2 These fields displays the hourly rate that was in effect at the time of the labor transaction for regular, overtime, and overtime-2 hours worked by the employee, as established on the Accounting tab of the Employee Info Center, or in a billing rate table.
OT % — Overtime and Overtime-2 These fields display the overtime percent that is specified on the Accounting tab of the Employee Info Center.
Amount — Regular, Overtime, and Overtime-2 These fields display the portion of the transaction amount that is associated with regular, overtime, or overtime-2 hours. It is calculated based on the values in the Hours, Rate, and OT% fields.

Transferred From Section

Field Description
Project If the transaction was transferred from another project, this field displays the project number of the transfer source.
Phase If the transaction was transferred from another project/phase, this field displays the phase number of the transfer source.
Task If the transaction was transferred from another project/phase/task, this field displays the task number of the transfer source.
Labor Code If the transaction was transferred from another labor code, this field displays the labor code of the transfer source.
Category If the transaction was transferred from one labor category to another, this field displays the category of the transfer source.

Fields

Field Description
Tax Code Override 1 This displays the tax code that you entered in the Tax Code Override 1 field on the Billing Labor Modify dialog box or the Billing Labor Insert dialog box for the labor transaction.
Tax Code Override 2 This displays the tax code that you entered in the Tax Code Override 2 field on the Billing Labor Modify dialog box or the Billing Labor Insert dialog box for the labor transaction.
Category This is the labor category number for this transaction. The default is the labor category, if any, specified for the employee on the Accounting tab of the Employee Info Center.

Labor category numbers are established at the global level on the Labor Categories tab of General Accounting Configuration (Configuration > Accounting > General).

You can also enter labor categories on the Billing Labor Insert dialog box or on the Billing Labor Modify dialog box, for both posted labor transactions and for those entered through Billing Labor inserts.

This field is applicable when the project's Labor Method or first labor sort or second labor sort, is set to By Category on the Labor tab of the Billing Terms form.
