Labor Billing Table Types

You can set up rate tables that contain the rates for an individual employee, all employees performing a similar type of work, or all employees belonging to the same category. Vision provides multiple methods for billing labor on time and materials contracts.

Table Type Description
Rate Times Multiplier Vision uses the employee's standard cost rate, as established in the Job Cost Rate fields on the Accounting tab of the Employee Info Center, or Vision uses an override cost rate established in a Labor Override table.
Labor Rate Tables Use Labor Rate tables to assign billing rates to employees.
Labor Category Tables Use Labor Category tables to assign billing rates to employee billing categories, such as Principal, Project Manager, or Senior Consultant. You can also use the Labor Category table to override default billing categories set for a particular employee in the Employee Info Center.
Labor Code Tables Use Labor Code Rate tables to assign billing rates according to the labor code to which the employee posted time. Labor Code Rate tables are the only billing tables that let you capture multiple billing rates for the same person on the same job. Because of the potential complexity of labor codes, Deltek recommends this method least among the labor billing methods.
Labor Override Tables Use Labor Override tables to store employee rate exceptions. You can store exception rates in a separate table for those employees who are being billed at a different rate or in a different category for this project.
