Currency Override Dialog Box

If the published exchange rate is not applicable to a voucher's transaction currency or payment currency, use the Currency Override Dialog Box to specify a different exchange rate or date.

The published exchange rate might not be applicable if the vendor's contract terms specify a different exchange rate or exchange date, or if the published exchange rates have not been entered in Vision in Configuration > General > Daily/Period Exchange Rates.

Location

To display the dialog box, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Accounting > Accounts Payable > Create Voucher from PO.
  2. Select a vendor.
  3. On the toolbar, click Currency.

Field Description
Transaction Currency Select the transaction currency.
Exchange Override Use the fields in this group box to specify transaction currency override parameters.
Method Select an option for calculating the exchange override: Date or Rate.
Date If you select Date in the Method field, use this field to specify the date to use in place of the transaction date. Enter a date or click and select the date.
Rate If you select Rate in the Method field, enter the rate to use in place of the currency exchange rate set up in Configuration > General > Daily/Period Exchange Rates.
Payment Currency Select the currency in which to make payments, if it is different from the transaction currency.
Exchange Override Use the fields in this group box to specify payment currency override parameters.
Method Select the method for the exchange override: Date or Rate.
Date If you select Date in the Method field, use this field to specify the date to use in place of the transaction date. Enter a date or click and select the date.
Rate If you select Rate in the Method field, enter the rate to use in place of the currency exchange rate set up in Configuration > General > Daily/Period Exchange Rates.
