Create a Vision Custom Report in Excel 2007

Because Vision role security is not enabled for Analysis Cubes, how you create, save, and share Vision custom reports is important.

To create a Vision custom report in Excel 2007 (PivotTable report), complete the following steps:

  1. Connect to a Vision data cube.

    If you previously made a connection to a Vision data cube, you can reconnect with that connection. You do not need to create the connection again.

  2. Use the PivotTable Field List to add, remove, and reorder fields on your report.

    You must include valid combinations of dimensions and measures on a report.

  3. Use Excel tools and features with the Vision data in a PivotTable report. Some actions that you can perform when you create a report include the following:
    • Sort data

    • Filter data

    • Format and modify the layout of your report

    • Save your report.

    • Distribute the reports to others as you normally would (send as an email attachment, copy to a shared network drive, and so on).

    • Refresh and connect to a Vision data cube when you open a previously saved report.

  4. Save your report.
