Organizations in Vision and Location and Department in TrafficLIVE

If Vision and TrafficLIVE integration has been enabled, you must complete the organization mapping before you send new employee records from Vision to TrafficLIVE.

Whether or not you use organizations in Vision, you must complete the organization mapping before you send new employee records from Vision to TrafficLIVE. This allows the employee Location and Department fields in TrafficLIVE to be populated when you send employee records from Vision to TrafficLIVE. The Location and Department field are required for employees in TrafficLIVE. You set up location and department in TrafficLIVE in Menu > admin > company.

If You Use Organizations in Vision

If you use organizations in Vision, on the Mapping tab of the TrafficLIVE Web Service form in Vision, you define the Vision organization level that corresponds with TrafficLIVE's location and department. If the organization structure in Vision does not map to location and department in TrafficLIVE, you select User Defined in the mapping fields. Then enter user-defined default values for location and department for the mapping. These values will be used for all employees who are sent to TrafficLIVE from Vision.

If you map Vision organization levels to company location and department in TrafficLIVE, you must select the Organizations check box on the General tab of the TrafficLIVE Web Service form, and run the TrafficLIVE web service. This sends the corresponding organization records from Vision to TrafficLIVE. You do this before you send employee records from Vision to TrafficLIVE. You do not have to complete this step if you entered user-defined default values for location and department in TrafficLIVE.

You usually send organizations from Vision to TrafficLIVE once—when you initially set up Vision and TrafficLIVE integration. However, you can run a TrafficLIVE web service job on a regular basis to send organizations from Vision to TrafficLIVE in case new organization values have been entered in Vision.

Active and inactive organization levels from Vision are sent to TrafficLIVE. Dormant organization levels are not sent to TrafficLIVE.

Example

For organization mapping, Vision's organization level 1 is mapped to TrafficLIVE's location and Vision's organization level 2 is mapped to TrafficLIVE's department.

When you send all organizations from Vision to TrafficLIVE, a location and a department are created in TrafficLIVE for organization level 1 and organization level 2 values from Vision.

If You Do Not Use Organizations in Vision

If you do not use organizations in Vision, you must select User Defined in the organization mapping fields on the Mapping tab, and enter a user-defined default value for location and department. These default values are used for all employees when you send employees from Vision to TrafficLIVE. You do not have to select the Organizations check box on the General tab of the TrafficLIVE Web Service form and run the TrafficLIVE web service to send organizations in Vision to TrafficLIVE before you send employee records from Vision to TrafficLIVE.
