How Key Performance Indicators Work

If you use Vision Analysis Cubes, you can create key performance indicators (KPIs) to add to Vision custom reports.

This is how KPIs work:

  1. You create KPIs on the Key Performance Indicator tab in Vision Configuration > General > Analysis Cubes.

A KPI consists of a measure, a dimension, a timeframe, a default goal, a trend comparison time period, and so on.

  2. A system administrator uses the Vision Resource Kit to update the Vision Project data cubes with the KPIs.

  3. In Microsoft Excel, you create a custom report that includes a KPI.

KPIs display in the Excel PivotTable List in a separate KPI group after the measures. The KPI group has the following graphic:

Click the plus sign beside the KPIs graphic to view the list of all KPIs.

Click the plus sign beside a specific KPI to expand it and display a Value, Goal, Status, and Trend check box for the KPI.

The following is an example of a KPI named Gross Margin Percent - Project Division Manager.
