Use the Functional Groups tab to build a set of functional groups that are available for use with your service profiles. Functional groups provide a more detailed breakdown of the type of work that is required by your firm. You can associate multiple cost groups with a functional group on a fee estimate.

Functional groups are required when creating a fee estimate in the Opportunity Info Center or the Accounting application.

Click the drop-down arrow on a grid header to complete any of the following actions:
- To print grid data, click
Print. On the Print Preview form, click
to send the grid data to your default printer.
- To export grid data to an Excel spreadsheet, click
Export to Excel. When Microsoft Excel opens, use its features to modify, print, or email the grid data, or to save the spreadsheet file locally.
- To turn on grouping for a grid, click
Enable Grouping. When a field displays with the instruction: "Drag a column header here to group by that column," drag and drop column headers into the field, in the sequence that you want them to display.
Not all options are available on all grids.

 Insert

Click this option to create a new functional group. The functional groups that you enter here will be available for selection when you build service profiles on the Functional Groups tab of
.

 Delete
|
Click this option to delete an existing functional group. You cannot delete a functional group if it is associated with a service profile.

| Code
|
Enter the code for your functional group. After you create and save a functional group, you can change the description information for that group, but you cannot change the group code. To change the group code, delete the functional group and add it to the grid again with the new code.
This field works in conjunction with the
Create Project from a Fee Estimate
menu option in. When you create a new
project from a fee estimate, you can apply the fee estimate's structure to create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the new
project. Enter the number of characters in the
Code field to match the selected level of the WBS.

Enter a description for the functional group.

| Disabled
|
Select this option to disable the functional group. When you disable a functional group, it is not available for selection in a service profile, but remains enabled in fee estimates where previously used.
