Add a Functional Group for Fee Estimates

You can add functional groups that will be available for use when you build service profiles for fee estimates.

Functional groups are required when creating a fee estimate in the Opportunity Info Center or the Accounting application.

To add a functional group:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Configuration > General > Fee Estimate Groups.
  2. Click the Functional Group tab.
  3. On the grid toolbar, click Insert.
  4. In the Code field, enter a code for the functional group. This field works in conjunction with the Create Project from a Fee Estimate menu option in Info Center > Projects. When you create a new project from a fee estimate, you can apply the fee estimate's structure to create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the new project. Enter the number of characters in the Code field to match the selected level of the WBS.

    After you create and save a functional group, you cannot change the code. To change the functional group code, delete the functional group and add it to the grid again with the new code.

  5. In the Description field, enter the functional group description. After you create and save a functional group, you can change the description information for that group.
  6. Click Save.
