Add a Functional Group to a Service Profile

Functional groups allow you to create a detailed breakdown of the type of work that is required by your firm. You can associate multiple cost groups with a functional group on a fee estimate, and you can add one or more functional groups to a service profile.

The functional groups will then be available for selection in the Functional Group drop-down list on the Fee Estimate tab of the Opportunity Info Center and in the Project Fee Estimate application in Accounting. Functional groups are required when creating a fee estimate in the Opportunity Info Center or the Project Fee Estimate application in Accounting. Each service profile must have at least one functional group defined.

To add a functional group to a service profile:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Configuration > General > Fee Estimate Service Profiles.
  2. Open a service profile and click the Functional Groups tab.
  3. On the grid toolbar, click Insert.
  4. Use the drop-down list in the Code field to select a functional group. The drop-down list includes all functional groups that are defined in Configuration > General > Fee Estimate Groups. The Description field displays a description of the selected functional group.
  5. Click Save.
