Matching Imported Transactions with Posted Bank Records

During the import process, Vision automatically matches imported transactions with posted records based on the combination of amount and date or amount and reference number . You need to manually match any imported records to a posted record when they remain unmatched after the import process.

You can match records in the following ways:
  • Match one record posted in Vision with one bank record.
  • Match multiple posted records in Vision with one bank record. For example, you might enter deposits individually by project or by client in Vision, but you may deposit the amount as a single transaction in the bank.
  • Match one record posted in Vision with multiple bank records. For example, you might enter one deposit transaction in Vision, but this may be reflected as multiple transactions in the bank.
  • Match multiple bank records with multiple records posted in Vision.

Matching Based on Suggestions

Vision suggests posted bank records that possibly match the imported transaction in the Suggested grid of the Match Transactions Dialog Box. The suggestions are based on the parameters set on the Matching Suggestion dialog box, where you can set the difference on the number of days or the difference of the amount for the records to be considered a match. For example, if you enter 5 in the Days +/- field and 1.0 in the Amount +/- field , a record displays as a suggestion if it is within a five-day difference between the Vision bank document line and the bank statement line date and is off by a dollar of the imported transaction. You can select one or more suggested records that match the imported transaction.

Matching Based on Posted Records

By default, Vision displays unmatched posted records that are of the same type as the imported record in the All grid of the Match Transactions Dialog box. You can select one or more records that match the imported transaction.
