Changes to Prevent an Out-of-Balance Posting of Expense Reports
When you post, or schedule to post, expense reports in Transaction Center » Time and Expense Posting, Vantagepoint now includes a validation check at the end of posting expense reports to ensure that the entire expense report posting batch is balanced. If the entire expense report posting batch is not balanced, it will be marked with an incomplete status on the Posting Review form in the Transaction Center and in Utilities » Transactions » Incomplete Postings.
Changes to Expense Reports That are Scheduled for Posting
The changes below are designed to improve the scheduling of expense reports for posting.
Checks When Scheduling To Post: When you schedule an expense report for posting, Vantagepoint now checks to see if the expense report is already scheduled to be posted before allowing you to proceed with the task. Vantagepoint also checks for any scheduled process server job that includes the expense report and if the process server job is yet to be completed. If the expense report is already scheduled to be posted, or is included in a process server job that is yet to be completed, Vantagepoint displays an error message if you try to schedule the same expense report for posting. The error message details the following information:
Name of the expense report
Employee ID of the creator of the expense report
The date specified in the expense report
Default Value of the Description Field: When you schedule an expense report for posting in Transaction Center » Time and Expense Posting, Vantagepoint now prefills the Description field on the Schedule Dialog box with TransactionPosting/PostExpenseReportsPosting. You can change this default value, to clearly describe the process server job. The default value of the Description field still displays in the following areas:
In the Queue Processes grid in Utilities » Process Server » Queue Manager
On the Notification Center dialog box and the Notification Details dialog box
Defect 2171851: On the Invoice Archive tab, when you clicked Other Actions, selected Preview File Type, and on the Preview File Type dialog box selected either Rich Text Format (RTF) or Microsoft Word Document and clicked OK, a spinner displayed and you were unable to preview the invoice.
This issue occurred if the invoice that you were trying to preview had been created in Interactive Billing, and the following occurred in Interactive Billing:
Labor, expense, and unit transactions were added to the invoice.
Supporting documents were attached to the invoice.
The invoice had been downloaded as a Microsoft Word or Excel file or an Adobe PDF file and had been edited and then uploaded back into Vantagepoint.
Defect 2143407: This issue applies for projects with multiple work breakdown structure levels. On the Invoice Accept dialog box, when you clicked + Add Project Detail, the WBS level 3 (Task) field was not enabled in the Project Detail grid on the dialog box.
Defect 2131523: This issue occurred In dashparts with the employee dashpart base, when there were two employee records with the same employee name, and one employee was active while the other one was terminated. The displayed value in the Standard Hours column for the active employee record was incorrectly based on the employee record of the terminated employee.
Defect 2182530: In any hub, when you hovered over a user-defined Project field, the value that displayed was from the hub's previous record, instead of the current record.
Defect 2099990: When you created an approved employee (ReadyForProcessing = 'Y') using the POST Create an Employee Record API endpoint without including EmployeeCompany in the payload, you received the following error message: "The given key was not present in the dictionary."
Defect 2179401: When you created a new employee record, or modified an existing one, and then selected the Approved for Use in Processing option on the Accounting tab, you received an "Organization is Required" error message. This issue occurred even when you did not set up organizations in Settings » Organization, in the desktop application.
Defect 2169523: On the Summary pane of the Plan form, when you set the Show option to Billing and clicked the JTD hyperlink under Project Details, the Consultants row did not display on the Job-to-Date pop-up. This error occurred when you set the Enable Consultant Planning option to Yes and set the Enable Unit Planning option to No in Settings » Resource Planning » Plan Settings.
Defect 2166429: When you edited fields at the WBS2 or WBS3 level on a user-defined grid marked as required at the WBS1 level only, you received the following error message: "At Least One Row is Required."
Defect 2173824: When you hovered over a user-defined contact or firm type field, it incorrectly displayed details from the previous hub record.
Defect 2178088: When you created a saved search and used the between (=) operator in a search filter in the Projects hub, you received the following error message: "Unexpected character encountered while parsing number: T. Path '', line 1, position 10."
Defect 2176701: If you set the Date Format in My Preferences to Date-Month-Year and you attempted to export job-to-date (JTD) labor hours in comma-separated values (CSV) or Excel format, you received this error message: "Conversion from string "DD/MM/YYYY" to type 'Date' is not valid."
Defect 2170491: When you exported job-to-date (JTD) billing data to Excel, the date stamps for every entry for all projects were off by one day in the exported file.
Defect 2185525: When you selected Use Allocation Method on Project in the Pipeline Calculation field for the Pipeline System dashpart, the Total Compensation and Revenue Forecast bars did not display in the pipeline. This issue occurred when you selected any of the allocation methods for a project on the Estimated Fee tab on the Contract Management form in Hubs » Projects » Contract Management.
Defect 2098594: When you ran the Form 941 Worksheet report, there were differences between the Gross Pay and FICA Wages amounts. This issue occurred when you processed a bonus payroll run and you selected the Net to Gross checkbox.
Defect 2163252: On the Options tab for the Expense Detail report, you could not set the Report At option to Cost. This issue occurred when, on the Accounting tab of the Roles form in Settings » Security » Roles, the Labor Cost Rates/Amounts option was set to No Access for your role.
Defect 2178317: On the Actions bar of the Reporting form, when you selected Other Actions > Schedule and selected the Email Me When Done checkbox, the subject of the generated email was "[Product Name] : Completed Jobs" instead of "Deltek Vantagepoint : Completed Jobs."
Defect 2186535: When you disabled the Accounting role type in Role Settings, the ETC Revenue and Forecast Data column in the Project Forecast Report was blank.
Defect 2193047: This issue applies if you are a cloud customer or you set up an entry in the Vantagepoint Weblink utility for an alternate database for reporting. All reports use a single shared data source for the transaction database and a single shared data source for the alternate database for reporting. These shared data sources should get created only one time, if they do not already exist. The shared data sources were incorrectly recreated on every report run, and if multiple users were running reports at the same time, it sometimes caused the report server to crash.
Defect 2167579: This issue occurred when you entered blanket type purchase orders and the Modify Not to Exceed Values via Change Order checkbox was selected on the General tab in Settings » Purchasing & Inventory » Company in the desktop application. On the General tab of the Purchase Orders form, when you entered multiple change orders to change a purchase order’s original not-to-exceed amount, Vantagepoint incorrectly recalculated the not-to-exceed amount that is used for the subsequent releases of the purchase order. It should have added the not-to-exceed amounts from all the change orders to the original not-to-exceed amount. Instead, it incorrectly added only the not-to-exceed amount from the last change order to the original not-to-exceed amount.
Defect 2132170: This issue applies if you use an alternate reporting database. When you ran the Resource Management report at a weekly scale, you received the following error message: "The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value."
Defect 2162574: When you selected utilization-related options under Show in Resource View, the values did not display if a plan used a labor code. This occurred if an employee had a value entered for Hours/Day and Utilization Target in the Employees hub and a project was in an in-pursuit or won stage with Capacity Calculation set to Included in Scheduled and Utilization.
Defect 2131871: This issue applies if you have Use Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) in Mobile CRM set to Yes in Settings » CRM. On the AP Invoice Approvals form, when you clicked + Upload AP Invoice, you received the following error message: "String reference not set to an instance of a String. Parameter name: s." This issue occurred if the AP invoice that you uploaded did not have an invoice date.
Defect 2155391: This issue applies for databases that have multiple companies. When you changed the active company in an AP Invoice Approval record and then clicked Save, Vantagepoint did not seem to respond.
Defect 2179020: In the Project Information grid of the AP Invoice Approvals form, you were able to select a dormant phase or task.
These Connect defects have been fixed and apply to all previous versions of Vantagepoint that support Connect (you do not need to update Vantagepoint to this MR to get these updates).

15 March 2024 Software Enhancements
Adaptive Sync Session Interval Calculation: This new feature provides a recurrent background two-way data exchange between your email account (on an MS Exchange, Office 365, or Gmail server) and Vantagepoint. The sync sessions are automatic and provide data mirroring between your email/calendar items and ttheir matching Vantagepoint objects. The synchronization uses an adaptive technology that determines the frequency of occurrence, depending on your work practices and how often you are actively changing data.
15 March 2024 Software Issues Resolved
VNTGPNT-1854: OAuth impersonation is now supported. The maximum security 0365 OAuth 2.0 is now used as the only method for Exchange Impersonation service accounts data access authorizing for Office 365 mailboxes. All existing customers who use such impersonation accounts must re-authorize access using 0365 OAuth. This switch is required because the former impersonated access authorization method with login and password credentials entry was disabled by Microsoft in 2021. Please refer to https://revenuegrid.atlassian.net/browse/SFCC-15766 for more details.

Deltek requested the ability to control the logic for the Vantagepoint Connect Add-in so the file size can be set to a maximum of 50MB.
VNTGPNT-1837: In the Connect Add-in, when you selected an email that included employees, selected the employee card, and clicked Employee Details, the Cost Method field was displayed and required. When employee details were then edited, an error occurred because the Cost Method field should not have been displayed as it is not available in the Vantagepoint application. There were also Accounting fields that displayed as available that should have been disabled.
VNTGPNT-1915: In the Connect Add-in, if you selected an email that had contacts with associated projects and you clicked the Project Details button, the Project Details dialog box displayed Accounting fields even though Accounting fields should not display on the Project Details dialog box.
