Welcome to the Deltek Vantagepoint 5.5.7 Release Notes, which describe the new features and enhancements introduced in this release.
These release notes address all of the modules associated with Deltek Vantagepoint 5.5, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of Deltek Vantagepoint.
NACHA File Format Tab
The NACHA File Format tab of the Banks settings form now includes a Company Discretionary Data field. The value in this field will be populated into the Batch Header Record 5 at Field No. 4, Field Position 21- 40.

Calendar Invitations
The Overview tab of the Activities hub includes a Calendar Invitation option that displays if the defined activity type displays in the Calendar and your firm uses Vantagepoint Connect. Use this option to define whether employees, both contacts and employees, or neither automatically receive activity invitations when you synchronize Vantagepoint with your email application.
You can select from these options:
Do Not Send Invitations: No attendees are synced to your email application calendar when the activity is synchronized and no invitation is sent upon synchronization. This is the default.
Send to Employees Only: Only employees are synced to your email application calendar and invited to the meeting. Contacts are not synced to your email calendar and are not invited to the meeting.
Send to Contacts and Employees: All attendees, including both employees and contacts, are synced to your email application calendar and invited to the meeting.
After an activity is synced to your email application, you can change the Calendar Invitation setting. However, if you select the Send to Employees Only option or the Send to Contacts and Employees option, the attendees have already been invited. If you want to cancel the invitation, you must remove the attendees.
This option controls who is synced to Outlook or Gmail and who receives the activity invitations. All calendar activities are synced to the Outlook or Gmail calendar, no matter which setting you specify for this option.
Synchronize Activity Employees and/or Contacts to Connect from Mobile CRM
After you configure the Vantagepoint Connect add-on in Vantagepoint, the Calendar Invitation field displays on the Activities screen in Mobile CRM. Use this field to specify whether employees, contacts and employees, or neither automatically receive activity invitations when you synchronize Vantagepoint Connect with your email application.
You can select from these options:
Do Not Send Invitations: No attendees are synced to your email application and no calendar invitations are sent upon synchronization. This is the default.
Send to Employees Only: This setting synchronizes the activity employees to your email application calendar and automatically sends an invitation from your email application to the employees that are associated with the calendar activity. Contacts are not synced to your email application and they are not invited to the meeting.
Send to Contacts and Employees: This setting synchronizes all activity attendees to your email application calendar and automatically sends an invitation from your email application to the contacts and employees that are associated with the calendar activity.
After the activity is synced to your email application, you can change the Calendar Invitation setting. However, if you select the Send to Employees Only option or the Send to Contacts and Employees option, the attendees have already been invited. If you want to cancel the invitation, you must remove the attendees.
Defect 1675612: This issue occurred if you, in Settings » Accounting » Transactions, set the Use Files to Group Transactions option to No and set the Enable Transaction Center Approvals option to Yes. When you ran the final Intercompany Billing run, the Approval Status field displayed Submitted instead of Approved.
Defect 1866423: On the Labor Cross Charge form, when you clicked Select All and then clicked Print on the Labor Cross Charge grid toolbar, you received the following error message: "The incoming request has too many parameters. The server supports a maximum of 2100 parameters. Reduce the number of parameters and resend the request."
This issue occurred when you selected a large number of items and you also selected the following checkboxes on the Labor Cross Charge form:
Display postings already processed
Display Labor Adjustments and Billing Transfers
Defect 1719848: This issue applies if you log in to Vantagepoint using the Francais (Canada) language. In Interactive Billing and Billing Terms, words on the screens that were not translated correctly have been fixed.
Defect 1744899: This issue occurred after you changed a project's billing client. An invoice that you created for the new billing client was incorrectly posted to the previous billing client even though the new billing client's name displayed on the invoice. You saw invoice amounts incorrectly posted to the previous billing client on the Invoice Posting log, on the AR Ledger report, and in Hubs » Projects » Invoices. This issue occurred if the invoice for the new billing client used the same invoice number as a voided invoice for the previous billing client.
Defect 1848036: In Interactive Billing, when you opened an invoice that you had downloaded, edited, and saved as a Microsoft Excel file, you received the following error message: "Excel cannot open the file 'XXXX.xlsx' because the file format or file extension is not valid when. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file." This issue occurred for invoices with an invoice number that was previously assigned to another invoice.
Defect 1865371: You could not load projects in Interactive Billing if you started a new pre-invoice in the approval process and also voided a regular invoice to which a previous pre-invoice was linked.
Defect 1875191: The following issues that occurred on the Interactive Billing form have been fixed:
In some cases, you received a message saying “An error has occurred” when you opened the Project Structure dialog box and selected a promotional project that was linked to a project. You also received this message when you searched for promotional projects in the Projects hub and then navigated to Interactive Billing.
When you opened the Fees tab at the WBS2 or WBS3 levels for a project and those levels had fee billing terms defined, existing fee data did not display on the tab and you received this error message: “Fee Billing Terms are not defined."
Defect 1890431: The following issues occurred on the Payment form when you displayed a large number of records in the Payments grid:
When you scrolled down the grid and hovered over the end of a row, the Options icon did not display and the Voucher Review option was not available for your selection.
In rows where you were able to select the Voucher Review option, Vantagepoint displayed information for a different vendor on the Voucher Review dialog box.
Defect 1884823: This issue occurred in Settings » Cash Management » Vendor Payments when you selected a voucher in an automatic run. After you set the value for the Payment Date field to a date in the future and removed the voucher from the automatic run, the voucher was incorrectly displayed as Paid.
Defect 1867580: For some records, when you tried to update a non-recurring activity, you received the following validation error: "The value you entered is not a valid number."
Defect 1872891: In a single company database, when you deleted a contact record in the Contacts hub and then navigated to another contact record, you received the following error message: "Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation."
Defect 1631723: This issue occurred in the Equipment hub in the desktop application. The Create, Modify Date, and Time fields showed the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) instead of the local time.
Defect 1746283: This issue occurred when you copied an existing company to create a new company in Settings » Organization » Codes in the desktop application. In the Firms hub, when you cleared the Approved for use in processing checkbox on the Vendor tab of the new company, Vantagepoint also cleared the setting in the existing company's record.
Defect 1871886: When you deleted a firm record that was associated with a firm type column in a user-defined grid and then navigated to another record in the Firms hub, you received the following error message: "Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation."
Defect 1706243: When you either updated the grid settings on the Labor/Expenses + Consultants tab or refreshed the page, if you then updated the Bill/Cost toggle option, the Budgeted columns were not displayed.
Defect 1876654: When you used the Add JTD Assignments option in the Actions bar, resource assignments were sometimes duplicated in the project plan.
Defect 1875482: This issue occurred on the Projects form when you clicked the + New Project option while displaying a tab other than the Overview tab. When you clicked the Cancel button on the New Project form and then clicked + New Project again on the Projects form, the option became unresponsive.
Defect 1887427: You received a blank error message when adding activities in Mobile CRM. This issue occurred when the value in the ContactID field for an associated contact contained a blank space.
Defect 1896100: When you added two projects with the same phase and/or task, a different default unit table was populated.
Defect 1865713: This issue occurred in dashparts with the AR Detail dashpart base, when the column order in the Dashpart Designer did not match the column sequence on the Sort Options dialog box. For example, in the Dashpart Designer the dashpart had columns A, B, C, and D (in that order), but on the Sort Options dialog box the columns were displayed in a different order such as C, D, A, and B. When you displayed the dashpart on the dashboard, the dashpart did not display the column values and you received this error message: "An item with the same key has already been added."
Defect 1718072: The Employee List report displayed the document map even when you selected the Hide Document Map checkbox in the report options. This issue occurred when you selected the Organization column to be included in the report.
Defect 1741923: The issue applies if your user role has a Record Level View access in the Units hub. When you generated a Unit Details report, you received "an error has occurred during report processing" message.
Defect 1764522: When you generated an Employee List report, the Payroll Method and Payroll Expense Amount/Percent Repayment Method columns both displayed [DoubleQuoteLabelPercent] as their value.
Defect 1863191: When you used the Advance Search option in the Organization field of the Income Statement, Trial Balance, Profit Planning Monitor, and Account Analysis report, the Organization field criterion changed to Is Mine instead of Active Company.
Defect 1863434: This issue occurred with project reports when you, in the Budget Details section of the Options tab, set the Budget Source option to Project Planning Budget. The total value for the ETC amount related columns did not include the Consultant ETC amount if the expense had an ETC amount of 0 (zero).
Defect 1864583: When you tried to update the Accrual Code option for the Accrual Time report, duplicate accrual codes were displayed in the option drop-down list. This issue occurred if the same accrual codes were used across multiple companies.
Defect 1870838: When you generated a Project List report, the Days Open column did not display any values for the subtotal per group or for the Final Totals.
Defect 1883031: This issue occurred when you did the following as part of running a report:
On the Report Preview toolbar, you clicked the Search & Download option.
On the Search Criteria grid at the bottom of the Report Preview, you selected each column's checkbox in non-sequential order (for example, Account Name, Detail, Type, and so on) and then clicked Show Results.
As a result, the Show Results grid displayed the columns in non-sequential order, instead of in sequential order as they were displayed in the Search Criteria grid: Account Name, Type, Status, and so on.
Defect 1892180: When the timesheet comments contained entries in HTML style "font-size:0px", you were unable to export a timesheet-related report to PDF format.
Defect 1904104: This issue with the Account Analysis report occurred when you set the Time Frame option to Date Range on the Options tab. The date range that was displayed in the report header did not match the start date and end date that you specified.
Defect 1696978: When you created and submitted a timesheet, the timesheet end date included a time value, which affected the lineup of timesheet records for approval.
Defect 1701339: When you logged in to an application database using the French language and you tried to approve a timesheet, the approval message in French had a space missing between words.
Defect 1702215: This issue occurred when you entered a keyword or description in the Unit field to search for a unit to include in a timesheet record. When you displayed the Units Lookup dialog box from the Unit field, Vantagepoint did not filter the selections based on your search parameters.
Defect 1865323: When you clicked Other Actions » Floor Check, you were unable to filter timesheet results based on time groups when you were logged into a company other than your home company.
Defect 1870120: This issue applies if, based on the step conditions, the line item that was added to a timesheet record that you reopened and rejected was automatically approved, which started the approval process for the timesheet record. When the timesheet record was rejected again and then resubmitted without the line item, Vantagepoint should have restarted the approval process.
Defect 1876261: When you ran a bonus payroll for an employee, the gross wages were not split between specified locales in the State/Local/Tax Jurisdictions grid on the Payroll tab of the Employees form. This issue occurred even if the Locale Method was set to Percent of Wages.
Defect 1619717: In the Edit Record Layout pane of a custom proposal, when you clicked the Add multiple pages to record option, you were unable to specify a value that was higher than 10 pages.
Defect 1784166: When you created a new proposal from a template, you received this error message: "Object Reference not set to an instance of an object."
Defect 1845864: Numeric currency values were incorrectly limited to 9 digits on the Custom Proposals form. For example, if the Est Contract Value 2 field in Hubs » Projects » Project displayed $1,234,567,890, the corresponding field on the Custom Proposals form displayed $234,567,890.
Defect 1874380: On the Resource View form, when you used the Reassign action to transfer planned hours from one resource to another, Vantagepoint added a new assignment record for the receiving resource but did not move the hours.
Defect 1612047: No drop-down lists or items were available for Project Name, Asset Number, or other fields on the Search dialog box and you were unable to include these records on the Asset Item Export report.
Defect 1737773: This issue occurred when you completed the following steps to add a condition to a Contact search:
In the Search Criteria section, you clicked +Add a Field.
In the Add a Field field, you selected Associated Projects - Project.
In the Operator field, you selected either Contains or Starts With.
In the Add Value field, you added a string.
To execute the search, you clicked Apply All or Apply Selected.
You received the following error message: "Invalid column name 'WBS2'. Invalid column name 'WBS3' when using "Associated Projects - Project" as search field and "Contains/Start With" as operator in Contact Search."
Defect 1869524: If your Vantagepoint 5.5 database was running on a SQL 2017 server when you ran an Analysis Cube Refresh, you received this error message: "'OPTIMIZE_FOR_SEQUENTIAL_KEY' is not a recognized CREATE TABLE option."
Defect 1891201: In Screen Designer for the Contacts hub, there was no option to modify the security settings of the additional lines in the Firm Business Address field.
Defect 1812545: When you tried to delete a value in the Engagement Probability list, you received this error message: "This value is associated with some records and cannot be deleted." This issue occurred even when there were no longer any projects that used the probability value to be deleted. (The Probability Greater Than or Equal option in Settings » Resource Planning » Plan Settings was still using the probability value in the background, even though the In Pursuit Projects in Scheduled and Utilization option was not set to Automatically Set Based on Probability.)
Defect 1882135: This issue occurred if you added labor category details in Settings » Rate Tables » Billing Labor Categories, navigated to and accessed the Employees hub, and returned to Settings » Rates Table » Billing Labor Categories. When you clicked +Add Employees on the toolbar of the Employee Overrides grid on the Billing Labor Categories settings form, the labor category details were missing on the New Employees Search dialog box.
Defect 1865050: When you selected Enable All Logins in the Actions bar, logins for inactive users were incorrectly enabled.
Defect 1689424: When you used a workflow to create a project from an existing project, the bid date from the existing project did not automatically populate for the new project.
Defect 1882321: When you selected and posted multiple recurring AP Voucher transaction files, you received the following error message: “Value does not fall within the expected range."
Defect 1887388: In the desktop application, when you successfully imported unit lines with French accents, the accents appeared as different characters when you viewed them in the browser application in Settings » Accounting » Units.
Defect 1892472: This issue occurred for project records with user-defined grids when you combined phases (Utilities » Key Conversions » Phases) or tasks (Utilities » Key Conversions » Tasks). When you combined phases or tasks from affected projects, you received this error message: "Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint."
Defect 1867119: When you ran the key conversion for disabling phases/tasks, an unintended duplication of primary key values for affected projects during previous key conversions caused an error and you received this error message: "Violation of Primary Key Constraint."
Defect 1867369: When you entered an existing project in the Existing Project field of the Change Number tab and then immediately clicked outside the field before the Existing Project Name field loaded the project name, you received this error message: "Please provide a New value for table KEYCONVERTWORK."
Defect 1863436: This issue occurred for firms with slower system environments. When you clicked Open and then clicked Open again before the absence accrual year from the first click was created, two absence accrual years were opened. Now when you click Open and an absence accrual year is already in the process of being opened, you receive a warning message.
