Welcome to the Deltek Vantagepoint 5.5.3 Release Notes, which describe the new features and enhancements introduced in this release.

These release notes address all of the modules associated with Deltek Vantagepoint 5.5, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of Deltek Vantagepoint.

Arkansas 2022 Tax Updates

The new withholding formula for Arkansas takes effect October 1, 2022. Updates include the following:

District of Columbia 2022 Tax Updates

The District of Columbia's new personal income tax rates (effective January 1, 2022) should be used for withholding despite no formal update to the district's withholding methods. The personal income tax rate table was amended in the Income Tax Fairness Amendment Act of 2021. The amendment increased tax rates for those earning more than $250,000 per year, up to a highest rate of 10.75%, instead of 8.95%.

Florida 2022 SUTA Electronic Filing (Florida): Removing Requirement to Report at Least One Employee

The following requirement to report at least one employee has been removed in XML schema v2022 1.0: At least one employee must be reported. If there are no employees to report, enter "Jane Doe," with a Social Security number of "999999999."

Indiana 2022 Tax Updates

Indiana added a third deduction constant table (Table C) for a new exemption for adopted children. Most employees are entitled to deduct $3,000 per year per qualifying adopted child claimed on line 7 of Form WH-4. The other two deduction constant tables (Tables A and B) and the 3.23% income tax rate were unchanged. 

Form WH-4 (Employee's Withholding Exemption and County Status Certificate) was also updated to include the adopted child exemption.

Virginia 2022 Tax Updates

Virginia's withholding methods were updated effective October 1, 2022 to implement an increased standard deduction. The standard deduction increases from $4,500 to $8,000 for single individuals, and from $9,000 to $16,000 for married individuals filing jointly. Upgrade Touch Server to PHP 8.1.11

The Touch Server for this version of the Vantagepoint mobile application has been upgraded to support the PHP 8.1.11 security release.

Rating and Feedback in Mobile CRM

An in-app review is now available in the Vantagepoint Mobile CRM application running on the iOS or Android operating systems. After you upgrade to a newer or major release of Mobile CRM and create a new contact or activity record, you are prompted one time to submit a rating. (This feature is not available when you create a new contact or activity through record association.)

The Provide Feedback button is also available on the Mobile CRM menu screen. Tap this button at any time to send feedback using your default email application.

An in-app review is now available in the Vantagepoint Mobile T&E application running on the iOS or Android operating systems. After you upgrade to a newer or major release of Mobile T&E and submit a timesheet or expense report, you are prompted one time to submit a rating.

Software Issues Resolved


Accounting >> Tax File Generation


Defect 1812557: In the desktop application, on the HMRC Interface tab, the Submit VAT Obligation button was shaded (grayed out). This issue occurred when you had open rows with zero amounts in the grid.


Billing >> Interactive Billing


Defect 1763815: On the Units tab of the Interactive Billing form, when you added a billing unit to the Units grid and you used the lookup in the Unit field on the Billing Unit Insert dialog box, you received the following error message: "Cannot resolve the collation conflict between "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" and "SQL_Latin1_General_CI_AS" in the equal to operation.


Defect 1813645: On the Expenses tab of the Interactive Billing form, the Document field in the Expenses grid incorrectly displayed the icon to allow you to attach a supporting document for a miscellaneous expense.


Defect 1824647: In Interactive Billing, the supporting documents for expense reports, AP disbursements, and journal entries did not print with an invoice as they should have. This issue occurred when the options to print those supporting documents were selected on the Billing Backup tab in Billing Terms for a project and you selected the View Supporting Documents checkbox on the Additional Documentation dialog box that displayed when you clicked the Print action on the Interactive Billing form.


Billing >> Invoice Approvals


Defect 1813622: On the Invoice Approvals form, after you approved a submitted invoice you were not able to approve other submitted invoices. The Approve and Reject actions were not available.


Cash Management >> Vendor Payments


Defect 1786398: You created an automatic vendor payment run. When you processed the payment run, the amount for an AP Voucher that should have been partially paid was incorrectly paid in full. This issue occurred when you did the following:

  1. On the Voucher Details Dialog box in Hubs » Firms Voucher Review, you set the Payment Term option to PWP and applied a partial Cash Receipt for the vendor record.

  2. You navigated to Cash Management » Vendor Payments, created an automatic vendor payment run, and then selected the vendor in Step 1. The voucher included in the payment run displayed a partial payment.

  3. On the Select Vouchers Page, you changed the Process Type option to Manual.

  4. In the Vendor Balances grid, you selected a different vendor and removed vouchers from that vendor's payment run.

  5. You selected the first vendor again and the vouchers included for the payment run incorrectly reflected the full amount.


Defect 1812480: When you processed an automatic vendor payment run, the Payments grid displayed two payment records for one vendor in the Printing and Numbering Page. This issue occurred when you did the following:


Defect 1815867: When you ran the Payment Register report, Vantagepoint displayed the sum of the payment amounts. This issue occurred if multiple amounts were paid in one payment and one of those amounts was negative.


Hubs


Defect 1816383: When contact information fields such as Email, Mobile, and Home Address were set as required in new hub records, the following issues occurred:

  1. When you populated the Mobile Phone field, the data that you entered in the Email field disappeared.

  2. When you populated the Home Phone field, the data that you entered in Home Address field disappeared.

Defect 1824415: In the grid on the Teams tab in the Contact hub, when you selected a relationship from the drop-down list in the Relationship field for the employee who is specified as the owner in the Summary pane on that tab, the entry was not saved.

Defect 1673120: This issue occurred in newly activated databases. On the Time & Expense tab of the Employees form, the Expense Administration Level option displayed as Level.


Hubs >> Firms >> Firms


Defect 1651771: When you, on the Overview tab of the Firms form, deleted an address from a client firm record, Vantagepoint did not warn you if that address was currently specified in a project record in the Projects hub.


Hubs >> Projects >> Billing Terms


Defect 1763781: On the Fees tab in Billing Terms, when you updated the entry in the Percent Complete field or the Fee to Date field for a row in the Fee Billing Phases grid, four decimal places displayed for the entry. The fields should have displayed only two decimal places. The four decimal places also displayed on the invoice in Interactive Billing.


Hubs >> Projects >> Project


Defect 1705467: This issue applies if you use the French language in Vantagepoint. The info bubble for the Organization field in the Overview tab of the Projects form did not translate to French correctly.


Defect 1729616: This issue occurred if the project had a billing client but no billing address. When you opened and then closed the Primary Client dialog box from the Overview tab without making any changes, the Save button was incorrectly enabled.


Defect 1744904: This issue occurred for CRM and CRM Plus databases. When you ran a search in the Projects hub, the drop-down menu options for search fields on the Search dialog box incorrectly included accounting-related fields.


Hubs >> Projects >> Project Review


Defect 1755883: When the Purchasing module was not activated for your company, the Purchasing tab still displayed on the Project Review form in the Projects hub.


Defect 1823965: This issue occurred when you applied distribution overrides to a purchase order line item in Purchasing » Purchase Orders and then specified multiple projects in the Cost Distribution section of the Purchase Order Line Detail dialog box. On the Purchasing tab of the Project Review form, the P.O. Amount field in the Purchase Orders on File grid did not display the correct total net amount of the purchase order. It instead multiplied the amount by the number of project rows on the Purchase Order Line Detail dialog box.


Hubs >> User Defined


Defect 1815485: This issue occurred in user-defined hubs. When you clicked the workflow button on a hub record, the record's description (header name) disappeared from the form.


Defect 1816111: This issue occurred in user-defined hubs when you uploaded a file to a hub record that had a large number of existing attachments. When you did not scroll to the end of the Attachments grid before you uploaded the file, Vantagepoint continuously displayed a spinning wheel and was unresponsive.


Mobile >> Mobile Time and Expense


Defect 1765951: In Expense Approvals, when you tapped Load More to view other submitted expense reports, the expense reports were not displayed.


My Stuff >> Approval Center


Defect 1751085: When you reviewed approval records with the Absence Requests type, an employee absence request was not included in the selected record level access criteria. (The Apply Employee Record Level View Access option in Security » Roles » Record Access was not successfully applied to the Absence Requests application.)


Defect 1763735: When you navigated to the notification center and clicked the timesheets for approval, the Approval Center drop-down list still displayed the Expense Lines approval type instead of the Timesheets approval type.


My Stuff >> Calendar


Defect 1731934: This issue applies for CRM-only databases. When you navigated to My Stuff » Calendar, you received an error message and you were not able to navigate away from the message. This issue occurred when you did not set valid values that had a Task or Calendar activity type on the Activity Type Settings dialog box.


My Stuff >> Dashboards


Defect 1767925: This issue occurred in dashparts with the project or project details dashpart bases.

The following columns displayed internal code values instead of the correct values:


My Stuff >> Expense Report


Defect 1752373: When you copied an expense report that had expense line items with inactive expense categories, the copy of the expense report still included those invalid expense line items and you were able to save the expense report.


Defect 1767412: When you selected All Submitted reports and approved an expense report from the Submitted list, clicking the next arrow redirected you to a random expense report for approval instead of the record that was slated to be next in the sequence.


My Stuff >> Reporting


Defect 1686092: You were able to run the Project Planning Analysis report, but when you drilled down on the value of the JTD Cost column, the Expense Detail report that displayed did not contain supporting details.


Defect 1714715: This issue occurred when you enabled a credit card and subsequently selected it on the Options tab for a Voucher Ledger report that was saved as a favorite report. If you then disabled the credit card, logged out, logged back in, and opened the same report, you received an error message.


Defect 1716261: This issue occurred with the Cash Journal report when you did the following:

1. Set the Time Frame option to Date Range.

2. Specified values for the Starting and Ending dates.

3. Cleared (de-selected) the Cash-Basis check box.

4. Clicked Run to generate the report.

You received the following error message: "(rsProcessingAborted)."


Defect 1717827: When you ran the Firm List report, you received the following error message: "An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Query execution failed for dataset 'ReportDataset'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)." 

This issue occurred when, on the Columns & Groups tab of the report options, you set the Grid Type option to Address, grouped the report by the State field, and then added the Address - State/Province field as a report column.


Defect 1722527: On the Retainer Ledger report, [LabelGroup2] displayed in the Final Totals field when you did the following:

  1. On the Groups tab, in the Group Options section, you set the Show option to Detail and Totals.

  2. On the Options tab, you selected or cleared the Display Time Frame Total and Display JTD Total options.

  3. You filtered the records.

  4. You ran the report.


Defect 1723258: On the Favorites tab of the Reporting form, when you modified the selection in the Records field of a report and then downloaded the file, Vantagepoint generated the report using the previous record selection.


Defect 1755095: When you ran the Account Analysis report, the GUID of the transaction file displayed in the Description field instead of the file name. This issue happened when you posted multiple transaction files for a project associated with multiple companies.


Defect 1758577: This issue occurred on the Project Progress report as a result of refactored code in the 5.0 release. Vantagepoint ignored the sort order for labor codes defined in the Project Progress report options and instead used the labor code sort order specified in Utilities » Key Formats » Labor Codes.


Defect 1763880: When you selected and ran a favorite Invoice Register report, you received the following error message: "Input string was not in a correct format."


Defect 1790978: When you added the Direct Labor and Compensation columns to the Project Forecast report and chose to display amounts in the presentation currency, Vantagepoint did not convert the values and instead displayed the amounts in the project currency.


Defect 1811272: When your security role did not have access rights to Time Groups in Settings » Security » Roles, you were unable to use the Employees - Timesheet Group search criteria to generate the Labor Resource Actuals report for specific employees.


Defect 1815886: When you updated an existing favorite report, Vantagepoint did not validate the updates. As result, you received an error message when you tried to save the favorite report. (You then had to rename the favorite report to save your updates.)


Defect 1817063: On the Cash Flow Statement report, the warning message "Warning - The ending cash does not match posting to the selected mapped bank accounts in year xxxx. Please confirm all G/L accounts are included in Cash Statement Setup" was displayed near the end of the report, even if the total of all included G/L accounts matched the total on the Cash Flow Statement report.

Defect 1528613: When you approved the 102nd submitted timesheet and then moved on to the next timesheet, the application returned to the 2nd approved timesheet.


Defect 1814368: The projects listed on a timesheet had large spaces between them. This issue occurred when you printed a timesheet from the Timesheet form using the following actions:


Resource Management >> Resource View


Defect 1814219: In Resource View, the total planned hours listed for the resource level did not match the sum of values at the project details level.


Search


Defect 1759915: When you tried to search for a firm using the Find firm search field, Search omitted aliases and only checked for firm names. As result, the matching records returned for the search were incomplete.


Settings >> Workflow and Alerts


Defect 1699215: When you set up scheduled workflow actions to send email notifications for records in user-defined grids, the workflow conditions were not honored and the wrong notifications were sent.


Transaction Center >> Time and Expense Posting


Defect 1815963: When you selected multiple timesheets on the Timesheet tab in Transaction Center »  Time and Expense Posting and then selected the Print or Print - Errors Only option, you received an error message.


Transaction Center >> Transaction Entry >> Cash Receipts


Defect 1736689: This issue occurred when a project in a cash receipt transaction file contained multiple work breakdown structure levels, such as phases or tasks. When you saved the transaction file, the details in the Source Currency Code and Source Balance fields disappeared.


Utilities >> Desktop Imports


Defect 1811621: When you imported employee records using the import utility in Utilities » Desktop Imports, the employee names included unwanted special characters when viewed in Hubs » Employees.


Utilities >> Transactions >> Incomplete Postings


Defect 1813122: This issue occurred after you, in Cash Management » Vendor Payments, created and processed a vendor payment run but did not complete its posting. If you then, in Utilities » Transaction » Incomplete Posting, selected the vendor payment run and unposted it, Vantagepoint removed the payment run but the AP vouchers included in the payment run did not display on the Select Vouchers to Pay dialog box.
