Welcome to the Deltek Vantagepoint 5.5.1 Release Notes, which describe the new features and enhancements introduced in this release.

These release notes address all of the modules associated with Deltek Vantagepoint 5.5, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of Deltek Vantagepoint.

Dashboards


Additional Indicator for Drill To Dashparts in Chart Dashparts

To make it easier to find out which chart values have an associated drill to dashpart, the info bubble that displays when you hover over the chart value now includes the name of the drill to dashpart.

Speed Improvements for List View

Performance enhancements have been made to improve the loading speed for the List View in the Purchase Orders and Purchase Requisitions applications.


Software Issues Resolved


Billing >> Interactive Billing


Defect 1726649: When you transferred or inserted expenses on the Expenses tab of the Interactive Billing form for a dormant project, you should have received a warning that the project was dormant.


Defect 1727546: When you accepted an invoice in Interactive Billing, the Date field on the Invoice Accept dialog box incorrectly used the U.S. date format instead of the date format that you selected in My Preferences.

Defect 1746798: In the Set Up Vantagepoint Intelligence topic, the links to Vantagepoint Intelligence Overview and Analysis Cubes were broken and did not open the correct topics in the Vantagepoint online help.


Hubs


Defect 1739403: When you created a saved search or favorite report in a hub, the Create UserCreate DateMod User, and Mod Date columns displayed a NULL value. These columns are now populated as part of an audit trail, to track the people who create or update saved searches and report favorites.


Defect 1739405: When a non-standard HTTPS port was used for your web server, you received an error message whenever you tried to export a record through List View in any of the hubs.

Defect 1702673: This issue occurred when, on the Summary pane of a contact record, you removed the status and pressed the TAB key or clicked on any part of the Contacts form. Vantagepoint did not prefill the Status field or prompt you to enter a value.


Defect 1739394: This issue occurred if you added or edited a phone number on the Contact Information dialog box in the Contacts hub. When you selected a Phone format in the Phone field, the field displayed as blank instead of listing the phone number.

Defect 1638092: When you switched between the List View and Detail View in the Employees hub, the Cost Rate Table and Timesheet Administration Level Allow Edit fields intermittently disappeared from the List View.


Hubs >> Firms >> Voucher Review


Defect 1722102: This issue occurred when Voucher Review had a large volume of records in the grid. Vantagepoint stopped responding when you clicked the paper clip option under the Document column.


Hubs >> Projects >> Project


Defect 1588789: This issue occurred for invoices that you posted, voided, and reissued with the same invoice number but a different invoice date. On the Invoices form in Hubs » Projects » Invoices, the Days Out column in the Invoices grid incorrectly used the invoice date of the original invoice. The Aged Accounts Receivable graph on the form correctly used the date of the reissued invoice.


Defect 1727769: Employees or Contacts with the same role were displayed multiple times in the Team Members grid of the Team tab. This issue occurred when you performed this sequence of steps:

  1. You entered the same employee or contact multiple times in the grid, but assigned each line item a different role. 

  2. You changed the employee's role or contact's role to match an existing role for the same employee or contact in the grid.


Defect 1748907: When you created a new project, you received this error message: "Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'BTPK'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.BT'"

Defect 1755697: When you tried to log in to Vantagepoint using a database that had no employee records, you received an error message saying that you did not have access to any companies and you were prevented from logging in successfully.

Defect 1768889: In My Stuff » Approval Center, an “incoming request has too many parameters” error could occur when the selected application had thousands of records, regardless of the record completion status.

Defect 1721874: This issue occurred when your database is configured with the CRM or CRM Plus module only. You received an error message when you saved a chart dashpart with the project dashpart base if you included columns in the dashpart that should not have been available for CRM or CRM Plus only databases.


Defect 1741628: This issue occurred for table dashparts with the project dashpart base, if you had the following settings:

All regular hours for a transaction date were displayed under one employee record.


Defect 1741798: When you configured the Employee Utilization predefined dashboard with a fiscal period date range, the value displayed in the Direct/Standard Hours column did not match the end date of the selected fiscal period.

Defect 1693479: When you added the Debit Account column to either the Grouping and Sorting section or the Columns section of the Employee Labor Audit report, the report continued loading when you generated the report.


Defect 1723827: When you opened a Labor Resource Forecast report, updated the Format field on the Options tab, removed some default columns, and used the Save As option to generate a new report, the removed columns were still included in the new report.


Defect 1745930: When you generated a List report in a new hub that starts with "ID," you received this error message: "An error has occurred during report processing."


Defect 1745945: When you included grid columns and user-defined numeric field types in the Project List report, an incorrect subtotal amount was displayed in the generated report.


Defect 1745948: You encountered a performance issue when you ran the Employee Export report for a company or when you ran the same report to include active employees in a company.


Defect 1745956: When you specified starting and ending dates in the Time Frame Options section of the AR Comments report, Vantagepoint did not display any records in the generated report.


Defect 1748141: When you selected report-specific options for a Cash Journal, Cash Receipts, Cash Flow Statement, or Payment Register report, bank codes that were not associated with the company were displayed in the Bank Information grid on the Options tab.

Defect 1585059: When you expanded or resized a Comment field and entered details, the Save and Cancel buttons became unavailable.


Defect 1739488: When you modified the steps for Timesheet Approvals in Settings » Workflow » Approval Workflows in the desktop application, Vantagepoint reset the status of the timesheets on the Approval Center form. This issue occurred when the timesheets had no hours and were automatically approved.


Payroll >> Export to Pay Interface


Defect 1741121: You were able to add a copy of a line on the Hours or Earnings tab and did not receive an error message. When you exported Vantagepoint timesheet data, however, the amount for the line item was doubled.


Search


Defect 1748230: When you entered text in a drop-down field to search for an existing item in the field, you received the following error message: "Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'as'." This occurred in various drop-down fields throughout Vantagepoint. For example, this occurred in the Projects hub on the Teams tab when you clicked + Add Firm below the Firms grid and started typing text in the Name field.

Defect 1589657: This issue occurred on the Unit Tables form when you added a unit to a unit table and you created the unit from another unit. The billing rate that prefilled for the new unit on the Add Unit dialog box was sometimes different from the billing rate of the unit it was copied from.

Defect 1749640: This issue occurred only in CRM and CRM+ databases. When you enabled Use Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) in Mobile CRM, you received this error message: "Code B does not exist. The value for field RealizationByEmployeeMethod will not be set."

Defect 1742266: This issue occurred when you changed the caption of a grid in a hub (for example, the Credentials grid on the Professional tab in the Employees hub). In the Employee List report, Vantagepoint still displayed the old grid caption in the drop-down list of the Grid Type field and in the search criteria options on the Advanced Search dialog box.

Defect 1756113: When you deleted records from the Employee Overrides grid in Settings » Rate Tables » Billing Labor Categories and then saved, the changes were not saved and the records still displayed the next time that you opened the grid.

Defect 1712556: When you added a new value for the Field Settings option in the User Defined Field section, the newly added value had a sequence number of 0 instead of continuing from the last value in the list.


Settings >> Workflow >> Scheduled Workflows


Defect 1749227: Column Change actions that you entered for a scheduled workflow failed when conditions for the workflow were for numeric user-defined fields.


Utilities >> Desktop Imports


Defect 1722198: On the Teams tab, the Type field did not automatically populate with the correct information. This issue occurred when you used the Import utility in Utilities » Desktop Imports, in the desktop application, to import projects with client association information.


Utilities >> Integrations >> AP Authorization


Defect 1731797: The Database Name field that was inadvertently removed from the API Authorization form in a prior release was added back to the form.
