Welcome to the Deltek Vantagepoint 5.0.4 Release Notes, which describe the new features and enhancements introduced in this release.
These release notes address all of the modules associated with Deltek Vantagepoint 5.0, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of Deltek Vantagepoint.
Upgrade Touch Server to PHP 8.1.8
The Touch Server for this version of the Vantagepoint mobile application has been upgraded to support the PHP 8.1.8 security release.
Talent Management User ID in Employees Hub
The Talent Management User ID field on the Overview tab of the Employees hub now displays when Vantagepoint is integrated with the Talent Management application and a value for the field has been assigned by the integration. Talent Management assigns this value when the Vantagepoint employee record is synchronized with the Talent Management user record.
Defect 1684596: When you ran Absence Accrual Hours Processing, the screen kept loading in a loop, which gave the impression that the process was not completing. However, when you checked absence accruals in Transaction Center » Posting Review, the transaction was listed in the Posting Logs grid and had been processed correctly.
Defect 1644072: When you ran a final run type in Intercompany Billing and there were no transactions for intercompany postings, you received this error message: "Conversion from string "" to type 'Long' is not valid."
This issue occurred when the following applied:
On the General tab of the Intercompany Billing form:
You set Run Type to Final.
In the Intercompany Postings grid, you selected billing transfer files to process.
There were no prior Intercompany Billing processes within the company for any period.
Defect 1700409: This defect reverses the fix that was made for defect 1294512 in the Vantagepoint 3.5.3 release.
The description for defect 1294512 was as follows: "Even though Billing Rate tables were configured to use four decimals, Revenue Generation was only considering two decimal places when calculating amounts."
This issue with the number of decimals used to calculate amounts in Revenue Generation will be addressed in a future Vantagepoint release.
Defect 1704595: This issue applies for the Vantagepoint Cloud product. For a draft invoice run in Batch Billing, some invoices were missing from the batch. A "No data found for this invoice" message displayed where the invoice detail should have been. The Project Summary section of the invoice was included on the invoice, but the Billing Backup report was missing.
Defect 1716282: This issue applies if you set the Export Report as Files option to Allow Reports to be Uploaded via SFTP in Settings » General » Options. After you upgraded to Vantagepoint version 5.0, the Upload Report via SFTP check box was no longer displayed on the Billing Session Options dialog box in Billing » Batch Billing.
Defect 1591183: This issue occurred in Interactive Billing when you selected Post on Accept on the Billing Session Options dialog box. If you accepted an invoice and then, with Interactive Billing still open, you changed the period to a prior period, the invoice was incorrectly posted to the prior period. If you unposted the invoice showing for the prior period and switched to the original period to post the invoice as intended, the invoice was not available to post in the original period.
Defect 1697666: When you printed an invoice from the Interactive Billing form, the description for the project was displayed in a single line even though the description was split into several lines when it was formatted in the Description field on the Format tab of the Billing Terms form.
This issue occurred when:
The HTML Formatting option was not selected on the Misc tab of the Invoice Template Editor form (Settings » Billing » Invoice Template Editor in the desktop application).
You clicked the Description field on the Format tab of the Billing Terms form (Hubs » Projects » Billing Terms) and then saved without actually editing the Description field.
Defect 1697783: Add-on computations were incorrectly displayed on an invoice when the Show Multiplier check box was not selected for the add-on on the More Calculations tab in Billing Terms for a project.
Defect 1703654: This issue occurred when you changed any item in the billing terms for a project from within Interactive Billing and the project had an approved or submitted invoice with realization. When you accepted the invoice, the Employee Realization Allocation dialog box did not display as it should have.
Defect 1671900: When you used the Search and Replace utility in Utilities » Updates » Search and Replace to replace the value in the Project Manager field in the project's Billing Terms, the invoice approval was still mapped to the original approver.
Defect 1709133: When you navigated to Cash Management » Bank Reconciliation, you received a "You do not have access" error message. This issue occurred even if your administrator granted your role access to Cash Management in Settings » Security » Roles.
Defect 1715575: This issue occurred when you processed a wire payment in Vendor Payments. You were unable to select direct or reimbursable accounts for a regular project type on the Wire Settings dialog box.
Defect 1708097: In some cases, when you created a hub record through the hub forms or through a workflow, you received an error message. For example, this issue occurred when you created a linked promotional project in the Projects hub, or set up a workflow to create a linked promotional project record when a new project record was created.
This issue occurred when the following applied:
Autonumbering was enabled for projects in Settings » Workflow » Numbering.
The user initiated workflow that was triggered in Settings » Workflow » User Initiated Workflows had a Validate Error action.
Defect 1594191: On the Overview tab of the Contacts form, when you changed the Firm Address entry and did not provide a phone number, you received a "Please provide a Phone for table Addresses" error message.
Defect 1689478: When you used the Edit Search filter on the Firms form to select clients, the number of searched clients was correctly displayed beside the Search field. However, when you switched to the AR Review form, the search filter results were not retained (although the same clients from the Firms form were still displayed).
Defect 1547952: On the Overview tab of the Firms form, when you changed a firm's primary address by selecting the Primary check box for a different address and then clicking Save, the previous address remained selected as the primary address.
Defect 1644450: When you selected the Firm Type options below the contact image, the Client and Consultant/Partner check boxes were disabled. However, if you switched to List View, the Firm Type Client and Firm Type Consultant/Partner check boxes were enabled.
Defect 1692306: When you selected an active vendor on the Firms form in the Firms hub and then navigated to Hubs » Firms » Voucher Review, the active vendor record that you had selected in the Firms did not populate in Voucher Review as it should have. (The same issue occurred when you switched from Voucher Review to the Firms form.)
Defect 1634540: This issue occurred when a project had phases (WBS level 2) or phases and tasks (WBS levels 2 and 3). When you updated anything in Billing Terms for the project, you received the following error: "One or more fee billing phases is missing at least one billing category. Please review the category grid for each Fee Billing Phase."
Defect 1693062: This issue occurred on the Format tab of the Billing Terms form, when you selected a rate table in the Primary Sort Table and Secondary Sort Table fields. When you accessed the record again, Vantagepoint displayed the corresponding numeric values of the rate tables, instead of the rate table names that you selected from the drop-down lists.
Defect 1516174: This issue occurred when, in Screen Designer » Projects, the Contracts Details grid was set to Secured and Locked in Field Security for the role associated with the user. When you navigated to Hubs » Projects » Contract Management and made changes to non-fee columns, you received an error message and could not save your changes.
Defect 1610764: When you had a non-CRM security role and you updated a record in the Projects hub, you received a prompt to review values in a user-defined field that was only set as a required field for CRM security roles. This issue occurred when the Required Level option for the user-defined field was set to Project or Lowest in Screen Designer.
Defect 1674927: In the Projects hub, when you updated the Project Manager field of an overhead project record, you received a warning message about reviewing the values on the Estimated Fee tab of the Contract Management form. This issue occurred even when overhead projects could not produce revenue and would not require contracts.
Defect 1684651: On the Edit Project Structure dialog box, when you updated the project and its phase or task records at the same time and the records at the lower levels of the WBS had different stage values, you received this error message: "Field stage is read-only." This issue occurred when you used the Import utility in the desktop application (Utilities » Desktop Imports) and you uploaded a project for which the phase or task records had differing values for the Stage field.
Defect 1698675: On the Files & Links tab of the Projects form, when you added an attachment for a project record in the Files grid and saved the changes, Vantagepoint automatically changed the value of the Category field. This issue happened if your administrator set up multiple descriptions for the same attachment category code on the Files Category Settings dialog box.
Defect 1703104: When you updated a project and a contact associated with that project had a New Lead qualified status, when you saved you received a "Billing Contact is inactive or Disqualified. Select an Active Qualified Contact." error message. This issue occurred even when the Enable Lead Qualification option was set to No in Settings » CRM.
Defect 1703145: When you updated the Team Members grid on the Team tab of the Projects form, you received the following error message: "Billing Contact is Inactive or Disqualified." This issue occurred when the status of an associated billing contact of the project was changed to inactive.
Defect 1704716: This issue occurred if you had a CRM role for projects that required entries in the Project Codes grid on the Proposals tab of the Projects form. When you opened a project and clicked Other Actions » Add Phase and saved the phase, you received the following error message: "Record already exists and cannot be added."
Defect 1710029: This issue occurred if your database had the Resource Planning module but not the CRM module. When you clicked +New Project and set the Charge Type option to Regular, the drop-down list for the Stage option was empty and you could not make a selection.
Defect 1644444: On the login screen, when you selected a database with Windows Authentication enabled and selected the Windows Authentication check box, you were unable to log in to Vantagepoint using your Windows Azure Authentication details and you received this error message: “the remote server returned an error: (400) bad request.” This issue occurred when you used Windows Azure Government and the Government Community Cloud High (GCC High) version of Microsoft Office 365 to set up Vantagepoint Connect in Utilities » Integrations » Connect Administration.
Defect 1496120: When you had a user-defined field (UDF) with the same name as a Database Column Name in Grid Settings, the UDF was duplicated in Mobile CRM.
Defect 1705231: When you entered a project in Timesheet Hours, an incorrect default Unit Table was populated on the Units screen. The Unit Table that was displayed came from the project level, not from the lowest level of the WBS.
Defect 1671735: This issue occurred for dashparts with the employee dashpart base. When the employee record did not have a timesheet entry, the following columns displayed a value of zero:

Defect 1690601: When the Labor Comments column included a dashpart with the project detail dashpart base, comments from timesheets displayed HTML tags in the Labor Comments column.
Defect 1698624: This defect occurred in the Owner Value column for dashparts with the project dashpart base. Although the correct presentation currency code was displayed under the Owner Value column, the conversion rate based on the presentation currency was not applied to the values.
Defect 1701468: This issue occurred for chart dashparts when you selected the Stack Columns option in the Chart Options dialog box. When you hovered over the column on the chart, the info bubble incorrectly displayed system codes along with the value in the column.
Defect 1701477: This defect occurred for dashparts with the AR Detail dashpart base when transactions were posted to an organization than was not associated with the project. The affected dashpart displayed organization data from the AR transactions instead of the organization data from the project.
Defect 1703176: This issue occurred when you used the Grouping Options dialog box to configure a dashpart with a date range grouping on a monthly scale. Instead of displaying values for each month that was included, the dashpart displayed the average value for the months included.
Defect 1708967: In dashparts with the employee dashpart base, percentage related columns were not displaying correct values. This occurred when you reordered a percentage column in the column table area of the Dashpart Designer, and that percentage column had a configured date range.
Defect 1597633: When you copied an existing expense report, or deleted an expense line from an expense report with an attached receipt, and you then submitted the expense reports, you received this error message: "More than one row in the associated non-grid data_manager_control: EKDOCUMENTSDETAIL."
Defect 1698861: This issue applies if you installed Vantagepoint 5.0.2. When you printed a Detailed Expense Report or a Summarized Expense Report, data for lower levels of the WBS (phase or task) were not included in the report. This issue occurred if you cleared the Include Attached Receipts option on the Print Report dialog box.
Defect 1715600: After the Vantagepoint application upgrade from 4.5 to 5.0, the Category column was sometimes hidden in the Grid columns of the Expense Report form.
Defect 1678059: When only the Contract Direct Consultant column had a value for a project, the WBS2 and WBS 3 levels of that project were missing from the Contract Management report.
Defect 1689431: On the State License List report, when you tried to search for a new state license using user-defined field conditions in the Search Criteria grid of the New Search dialog box, you received a "QueryRoutines.GetExpressionEntityDelegate(none).none is not handled" error message. This issue occurred when the List report was related to a user defined hub.
Defect 1693926: When you used Search & Download for a calculated field in a report, you received this error message: "Input String was not in a correct format." This issue occurred when there were blank rows in the report for the calculated field.
Defect 1696518: When you tried to run a Firm summary report, you received an "Invalid Query Parameter" error message. This issue occurred when you applied User-Defined Currency fields to the User-Defined Section on the Options tab and also selected Presentation Currency in the Reporting Amounts section of the Options tab.
Defect 1696562: When you ran the Retainer Ledger report, the report did not display the values that it should have included when you selected the Display JTD Total or Display Time Frame Total options on the Options tab.
Defect 1698297: When you ran the Tax Analysis report using the Transaction Currency option, the amounts displayed in the Net Amount/Tax Basis, Tax Amount, and Gross Amount columns were incorrect.
Defect 1698645: On the Columns & Groups tab of the Account Analysis report options, when you added the Fiscal Year and Period field to the Grouping and Sorting section, the generated report displayed data that did not match the specified time frame.
Defect 1698714: This issue occurred on consolidated General Ledger reports that include the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Profit Planning Monitor reports. In the Account Type Labels section of the Columns and Groups tab, if you left blank one or more account type fields and then ran the report, you received an error message.
Defect 1699623: This issue occurred for the Voucher Ledger (Voucher Detail) report. When you set the Time Frame option to Date Range and ran the report, it generated correctly. However, when you saved the Voucher Ledger report as a favorite report, you were not able to generate the report.
Defect 1702639: In CRM-only databases, you were able to use the Biller field for project reports and searches even when the field did not display on the Overview tab of the Projects form in Hubs » Projects » Project.
Defect 1704962: This issue occurred after you selected a value in the Organization field on the Options tab and then ran the Trial Balance report. When you drilled down on the Amount column in the generated report, you received this error message: "Server Error in '/Vantagepoint/Reporting' Application."
Defect 1705485: You received an error message when you ran the Project Progress report. This issue occurred when you set this combination of options on the Options tab for the report:
In the Labor Options section, you set the Labor Code Levels to Display option to 0 and selected the Include Labor amounts check box.
In the Financial Analysis section, you selected the Include Financial Analysis check box.
Defect 1708076: When you configured the grouping setting for the Project List report on the Select Groupings dialog box, the Milestone and Milestone Date options were not available in the Available Groupings list.
Defect 1708155: This issue applies to the AR Aged report. On the report's Options tab, if you selected a billing client in the Billing Client field and you selected the Retainer's Balance check box for the Display setting, the report did not display AR comments.
Defect 1709020: In the FICA section of the Form 941 Worksheet report, no values were displayed for employers. (This issue occurred because the values from Utilities » History Loading » Payroll were not included in the report.)
Defect 1710987: When you generated a favorite General Ledger type report (for example, the Trial Balance report), you received this error message: "An error has occurred during report processing (rsProcessingAborted)…" This issue occurred when you did not specify a value in the Organization field on the Options tab.
Defect 1712494: When you generated the Office Earning report, you received the following error message: "An error has occurred during report processing (rsProcessingAborted). Query execution failed for dataset 'ReportDataset'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)."
This issue occurred when the following applied:
On the Options tab for the report, you set the Budget Source option to Project Planning Budget or Project Baseline Budget.
On the Columns & Grouping tab for the report, you grouped by organization, project manager name, project manager number, principal-in-charge name, or principal-in-charge number.
Defect 1713799: Billable transactions were incorrectly included on the Unbilled Detail and Aging report when you selected the Transactions to be Written off check box and the Transactions to be Deleted check box for the Include setting in the Details Options section of the report's Options tab.
Defect 17114245: When you ran the Timesheet Audit Detail report, you received this error message: "String was not recognized as a valid DateTime." The issue occurred when you entered a date range on the Options tab and selected any day-month-year combination in Settings » My Preferences » Date Format.
Defect 1714594: The estimate-to-complete (ETC) and estimate-at-completion (EAC) amounts on the Office Earnings report did not match the ETC and EAC amounts on the Project Plan and Project Earnings reports.
Defect 1718746: On the Expense Summary report, when you set the Project Level column of the Project Manager Name group to Task and ran the report, you received this error message: "An error has occurred during report processing."
Defect 1585214: When you updated timesheets, you received errors intermittently when you entered comments in the Description field for units.
Defect 1716353: Some approved timesheets did not display on the Time & Expense Posting form as they should have. Some of the line items for these timesheets may have had a missing check mark in the Line Status field in the Timesheet grid in My Stuff » Timesheet. Also, in the Timesheet grid, when you clicked the hours for a timesheet line item for one of these approved timesheets, the item's status may have been missing from the box that displayed information about the hours. These issues occurred when you set the left grid on the Timesheets form in the Timesheet application to sort by project number (using the Grid Settings gear icon in the grid column title row).
Defect 1709759: When you tried to dismiss an activity reminder, you received a "violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint" error message. This issue occurred when you had previously dismissed another activity with similar details.
Defect 1646380: This issue occurred when you changed the font of an existing resume text after you clicked the Merge and Finalize Records option on the Custom Proposals form. When you saved and then exported the proposal to Word, the selected font was not applied to the document.
Defect 1697125: This issue occurred in custom proposals when there were multiple text elements in a project hub record. When you edited a text element (for example, inserted a field) and then clicked the Save Record Layout as Draft option, Vantagepoint populated all the text elements with the data of the last text element that you updated.
Defect 1694245: When you copied an existing purchase order that contained a cost distribution row for a dormant project (WBS level 1), the dormant project’s cost distribution row was also copied to the purchase order.
Defect 1650240: When you ran a search, no progress bar displayed to indicate that Vantagepoint was processing the search. If the search returned a large number of records, you were unable to determine when the search was complete.
Defect 1697669: When you printed an invoice from the Interactive Billing form, the description for the project was displayed in a single line even though the description was split into several lines when it was formatted in the Description field on the Format tab of the Billing Terms form.
This issue occurred when:

You clicked the Description field on the Format tab of the Billing Terms form (Hubs » Projects » Billing Terms) and then saved without actually editing the Description field.
Defect 1705473: This issue occurred on the Liability Accounts tab of the Accounts Payable form when you updated the description of a vendor type that was associated to a liability code. When you selected the new vendor type to update the liability code, you received an error message saying that the vendor type already existed.
Defect 1702178: This issue occurred after you, on the Cash Flow Statement form, edited the value of the Label field in the Cash Flow Statement setup grid, deleted a line item in the Accounts grid, and saved the changes. If you then added back the deleted account and clicked Save, the account did not display in the grid. If you tried to add the account again, you received an "Account Range already exists" error message.
Defect 1692290: When you added a user-defined memo field on the Dates & Costs tab in Hubs » Projects » Project and subsequently entered long text in that memo field, the text box expanded and displaced fields to the next row.
Defect 1411985: This issue occurred on the Employee Lookup dialog box. When you entered a name in the Search field and pressed the TAB key, the search function did not work.
Defect 1692767: If you selected a Plan Creation, Modification, or Deletion alert and created a new email alert for plan modifications, the alert was delivered with incorrect start and end dates for the plan.
Defect 1615797: This issue occurred in the Application Record Access grid of the Record Access tab on the Roles form, only for user defined hubs that were migrated to Vantagepoint from Vision. You could not delete or edit legacy SQL search criteria on the lookup dialog box of the Record Level View field for the affected user defined hubs.
Defect 1692280: This defect occurred when you logged in with a language other than English and you configured the reports functional area on the Access Rights tab. The Available Reports list on the Reports dialog box was blank if you set the Report Type field to [All Report Types].
Defect 1583646: When you scheduled a recurring workflow, the local time was not displayed under the Schedule column of the Scheduled Workflows grid. Instead, the scheduled time (which is based on the time zone of the server) was displayed.
Defect 1683945: When you added a new condition to a user-initiated workflow and moved the new condition from the last row in the Conditions grid to another row above the last row, you were unable to save the workflow.
Defect 1703352: When you enabled auto numbering, configured the Validate Error workflow for a user-defined hub, and ran the user initiated workflow, you received the following error message:
"Workflow Error Processing INSERT event on table Main Record named 'Populate Requested Day From When New Record Created'
Workflow references invalid column 'UDIC_TimeOffRequest.CustTORRequestedDateFrom' "
Defect 1425730: When you entered notes for an AP invoice record that had been submitted and then clicked the Suspend or Resume button, your notes were not saved for the AP invoice.
Defect 1695117: When you entered a detail line in the Project Information grid of a transaction record and pressed the ENTER key to move to the next column, Vantagepoint automatically selected the Suppress Bill option in the grid. This issue occurred when you created any of the following transaction records:
AP Disbursements
AP Vouchers
Employee Expenses
Journal Entries
Defect 1705250: This issue occurred in Desktop Imports in the desktop application when you used the Advanced Import for the Project Contracts table. On the Import Utility form, when you clicked Import on the toolbar, clicked Browse in the Import from a Text field dialog box, and selected a text file, you received the following error message: "The isnull function requires 2 argument(s)."
Defect 1718974: When you used Advanced Imports in the Desktop Imports utility to import project receipts, you received the following error message: "Conversion failed when converting the varchar value ‘xxxxx’ to data type int."
Defect 1517678: When you ran the Employee List report, the Title field displayed the code for the title instead of the actual value. This issue occurred when you used the Import utility in Utilities » Imports & Exports » Imports and the Title field used the code instead of the value. (The title was not converted automatically because any value was allowed for the Title field in the utility.)
Defect 1571116: When importing employee records from Talent Management to Vantagepoint, you received this error message: "Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'PIMID'." This issue occurred if two or more records had the same value for the Employee ID (user_employee_id) field.
Defect 1709051: When you initiated the integration of Talent Management and Vantagepoint, you received an error message saying that the format of the MobilePhone field in Talent Management caused the import of invalid data during the initial import process.
Defect 1703346: When using multiple companies, you were incorrectly allowed to convert organizations from different companies.
Defect 1694894: An error occurred when you attempted to combine projects on the Combine Records tab if both projects had compensation values specified on the Compensation tab of Hubs » Projects » Contract Management.
