Welcome to the Deltek Vantagepoint 5.0.3 Release Notes, which describe the new features and enhancements introduced in this release.

These release notes address all of the modules associated with Deltek Vantagepoint, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of Deltek Vantagepoint.

State


Alabama 2022 Tax Updates

Alabama increases the maximum standard deductions by $1,000 for individuals who are married filing jointly and by $500 for other filing statuses.

The state also changes the thresholds for the dependent exemptions, allowing:

Connecticut 2022 SUTA Electronic Filing: New Format Starting July 5, 2022

The Connecticut Department of Labor (CTDOL) will launch the new tax and benefit system, ReEmployCT, on July 5, 2022.

The first quarter of the 2022 tax and wage return will be the last return filed in their current system. Beginning July 5, 2022, employers will file their second quarter 2022 returns (and any outstanding returns for previous quarters) in the ReEmployCT system.

CTDOL has provided a new file format for Unemployment Wage and Tax Reporting. ReEmployCT will allow employers to securely log in to the ReEmployCT system and directly upload their files for processing; they will no longer use the File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

Vantagepoint Connect Meeting Activities

When you created and saved meeting activities in Connect, the respective details were automatically synced to Outlook or Gmail and all associated contacts were invited to the meeting when you saved. Now, when you create an activity with a display type of Calendar, you receive the following warning message, which prompts you to confirm that you want to save the activity and notify all attendees:

"Because you selected a type that displays on your calendar, this activity will be synced to your email application's calendar and all attendees will be invited to it. Select an activity type that does not display on your calendar to avoid inviting attendees."

Click OK to save and notify attendees, or click Cancel to cancel the update.

Upgrade Touch Server to PHP 8.1.6

The Touch Server for this version of the Vantagepoint mobile application has been upgraded to support PHP 8.1.6.

Software Issues Resolved


Accounting >> Absence Accruals


Defect 1681068: This issue occurred when you adjusted an employee's absence hours, If you entered a value in the Adjustment Taken field and then pressed the TAB key to move to the next field. Vantagepoint became unresponsive.


Billing >> Interactive Billing


Defect 1605476: This issue applies in Interactive Billing for invoices that are part of a billing group and the Consolidate All Posting option is set to No for that billing group.

When you accepted an invoice for the main project of the billing group, and on the Invoice Accept dialog box, you copied an item in the Project Detail grid that was associated with a sub-project of the billing group, the project number in the Project field for the new item in the grid was incorrectly changed from the project number of the sub-project to the project number of the main project.


Defect 1646299: The issues below apply for projects with phases and tasks (work breakdown structure levels 2 and 3) that have sub-level billing terms entered for the phases and tasks.

Issue 1:

This issue occurred when you entered a different description in the Description field on the Format tab in Billing Terms for each WBS level of a project, starting with level 1 and ending with level 3.

When you opened the project in Billing » Interactive Billing, the Invoice Description field on the General tab for WBS level 1 correctly displayed the description that you entered for WBS level 1 in the Description field on the Format tab in Billing Terms. However, the Invoice Description field was blank for WBS levels 2 and 3.

Issue 2:

This issue occurred when you entered a different description in the Invoice Description field on the General tab in Hubs » Projects » Draft Invoice Approvals for each WBS level of a project, starting with level 1 and ending with level 3.

When you returned to WBS level 1 in Draft Invoice Approvals, the Invoice Description field on the General tab incorrectly displayed the invoice description from WBS level 3.


Defect 1671315: This issue occurred for projects that used a number format with a slash symbol (/) delimiter in Utilities » Key Formats » Projects. When you clicked Other Actions » Billing Terms on the Interactive Billing form, a blank page was displayed instead of the Billing Terms form.


Defect 1685131: In Billing, you received the following error message: "ParameterizedQueryBuilder parameter count mismatch." This issue occurred when you did the following: 

  1. In the Description field on the Format tab of the Billing Terms form (Hubs » Projects » Billing Terms), you entered text that contained a bracket, such as { } or { } or any other hidden or special characters for a project.

  2. You then navigated to Billing » Interactive Billing and submitted an invoice for that project with those billing terms.


Defect 1689536: The invoice amount did not match the amount listed in the posted transaction log in Transaction Center » Transaction Entry » Invoices.


Defect 1691425: This issue occurred when you selected a labor transaction with a Bill status on the Labor tab in Interactive Billing and held a partial amount of the transaction. If you then selected the remaining portion of the transaction with the Bill status and clicked Modify, you received a "Row changed by another user" error message.


Cash Management >> Bank Reconciliation


Defect 1680750: When you navigated to Cash Management »  Bank Reconciliation, you received a "You do not have access" error message. This issue occurred even if your administrator granted your role access to Cash Management in Security settings.


Cash Management >> Vendor Payments


Defect 1686720: This issue occurred if you selected the ClieOp option in Bank Settings and then, while creating an employee payment run, selected the Create Checks Instead of EFT transactions for this Run option on the New Payment Run form. When you processed the payment run, Vantagepoint printed non-negotiable payments instead of checks.


Hubs


Defect 1672798: This issue applies to the Contacts hub, Firms hub, and Projects hub. When you created a new record and then entered values that were similar to the name of an existing record, you did not receive a warning message about potential duplicate records.

Defect 1516488: When you qualified a new contact lead and then created and saved a new firm, the value in the State/Province field for the new firm was not displayed in the Firm Address field when you viewed the new contact lead record.


Defect 1671893: In some records in the Contacts hub, Vantagepoint displayed multiple listings of the same project on the Associations tab.

Defect 1650245: When the functional currency of a project was different from its project currency and billing currency, you were unable to edit functional currency-related fields on the Contract tab of the Contract Management form.


Defect 1653592: On the Contract tab, you received the following error message: “An item with the same key has already been added. This issue occurred when you did the following:


Hubs >> Projects >> Dashboard


Defect 1615998: This defect applies for organizations using a single-currency database. This issue occurred after you added a line in the Labor Grid in Utilities » History Loading » Labor and Expense and then saved the changes. If you then searched for the record in Hubs » Projects » Dashboard and changed the value of the Show field to Cost, Vantagepoint either displayed an incorrect amount or did not display any amount.


Hubs >> Projects >> Draft Invoice Approvals


Defect 1594217: This issue applies if you use the Billing Invoice Markup feature (Use Markup on Draft Invoices is set to Yes in Settings » Billing » Options). On the Draft Invoice Approvals form, when you selected a project with a draft invoice, sometimes the draft invoice did not display on the Draft Preview tab.

Defect 1603240: This issue occurred intermittently. The project structure icon next to the project name on the Plans form did not display when it should have.


Defect 1686898: When you entered a name in the Consultant Name field of the Reassign Consultant Type and Consultant Name dialog box, Vantagepoint did not return any search results.


Hubs >> Projects >> Project


Defect 1522199: On the Projects form, when you created a search with advanced settings for the Project field and you set the search criteria to either Projects - Published on Project Level Checked or Projects - Published on Project Level Unchecked and you applied Other Actions » SQL Where Clause, some of the projects included in the search results did not fit the criteria that you specified.


Defect 1610030: When you created a new project, the Stage field showed more options than the default values (In Pursuit, Won, or Lost). This issue occurred even if you worked on a database that did not have CRM or CRM Plus enabled.


Defect 1619682: When projects were created from any of the four workflow methods, the Approved for Use in Processing option was incorrectly set to Yes.


Defect 1633486: In the Projects hub, when you included a user-defined project milestone field in the list view, the field was not included when you exported the list to a comma-separated values or Microsoft Excel (.csv or .xlsx) file.


Defect 1686067: You received a "Billing Contact is Inactive or Disqualified. Select an Active Qualified Contact." error message. In addition, the BillingContactID columns in the ClendorProject Assoc table and Project table were populated in the database. These issues occurred even if the Accounting module was not implemented for your organization.

Defect 1601729: This issue occurred when the description, associated vendor, or associated employee name for an expense transaction file contained HTML tags. When you drilled down on the expense amounts in Project Review, Vantagepoint displayed the HTML tags in the Vendor/Employee and Description columns.


Defect 1686800: On the Financials tab, the main grid showed a doubled amount for Direct Consultants under the JTD <MM/DD/YYYY> Billing column. When you clicked the amount, the JTD Direct Consultants at Billing dialog box showed the correct total billing amount (the amount that should have displayed in the main grid).


Mobile >> Time & Expense and CRM


Defect 1685993: In the Comments/Memo fields, after you wrote your first line of comments and tapped the Enter key, you were not able to apply spaces in the second line of comments.

Defect 1438478: This issue occurred if your role had access restrictions to the Status field in the Employee hub. When you used the Status field as a search criteria for the following predefined dashparts, you were unable to access them:

Defect 1597633: When you copied an existing expense report, or deleted an expense line from an expense report with an attached receipt, and you then submitted the expense reports, you received this error message: "More than one row in the associated non-grid data_manager_control: EKDOCUMENTSDETAIL."

Defect 1286148: You were unable to include variance data and metrics in the Top Bottom Performers - Won Projects executive report because the variance options were unavailable in the following selection and drop-down lists:


Defect 1602665: When you ran Revenue Generation on foreign-denominated projects with a Revenue Method of N (No Revenue Recognition), the unbilled gains/losses entry was not calculated and did not show in the Office Earnings report.


Defect 1627935: This issue applied for the Employee Labor Audit report. When you clicked Search in the Saved Search drop-down and applied the following conditions in the New Employee Search dialog box: Employees - Company = Contains "value", you received this error message: "Whoops! Sorry there's an issue. Invalid column name 'Org1'…"


Defect 1655980: This issue occurred on the Office Earning report when you applied the following report options: 

The report did not display values on the chart and the values related to the selected timeframe were blank in the table. This occurred because the Display Timeframe option in the Chart tab was missing.


Defect 1658919: When you ran an Income Statement report and you drilled down on the value in the Other Revenue column, the Username column displayed an alphanumeric code instead of the username. This issue occurred when you changed the name of the employee associated with the report.


Defect 1672411: When you ran the Project Earnings report, the values of the ETC Amount column and the EAC Amount column were eight times larger than their original values. This issue occurred when you selected and applied any Project and Task groupings in the Grouping and Sorting grid of the Columns & Groups tab.


Defect 1684628: This issue occurred for projects that had an unapplied retainer that was added through Cash Receipts in the Transaction Center. When you ran the AR Aged report with the Retainer's Balance option selected, #### displayed for all the amounts on the report for the projects, instead of the actual amounts.


Defect 1684992: On the Options tab of the Office Earning report, when you set the Budget Source option to Project Planning Budget or Project Baseline Budget, set the Choose Dates for Planning Calculations option to Specific date or Period End Date, and then generated the report, you received this error message: "An error has occurred during report processing (rsProcessingAborted)…"


Defect 1689563: When you ran a favorite report based on the Project Detail report, the report did not display any data. This issue occurred in the following conditions:


Defect 1690256: This issue applies for all types of reports. When you selected Other Actions » Email and then, on the Email Report dialog box, set the File Type option to Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet, the report was emailed in *.XLS format instead of *.XLSX format.


Payroll >> Payroll Payments


Defect 1680969: The Top Margin and Left Margin fields overlapped on the Payment Margin dialog box. This issue also occurred in Cash Management » Employee Payments.


Proposals >> SF330


Defect 1325836: This issue occurred in the desktop application when you included an apostrophe (') symbol in the content of Section E, Blk 19 in the SF330 proposal. The apostrophe was displayed as "&#39;".


Proposals >> Templates


Defect 1671496: This issue applies if you selected a hub record from a proposal template that you copied on the Templates form. When you clicked the Edit Record Layout option, the existing hub record was removed from the template.


Purchasing >> Purchase Orders


Defect 1693471: When you clicked Actions » Close on the Purchase Orders form, you received a random alphanumeric error message If you then navigated to Hubs » Projects » Project Review and, on the Purchasing tab of the Project Review form, checked the Purchase Orders on File grid for the project linked to the purchase order, the grid showed the purchase order with the vouchered amount.


Reporting >> Equipment


Defect 1646511: In the Asset Summary report in the desktop application, the Recognized Gain or (Loss) column incorrectly displayed a negative amount and the total for the column showed #Error.


Settings >> General Ledger


Defect 1653713: On the Chart of Accounts form in General Ledger Settings, if you did not allow sufficient time to process your updates, you received an error message.

This issue occurred when you did the following:

  1. On the Navigation pane, you selected Settings » General Ledger » Chart of Accounts.

  2. In the Company Access section of the Overview tab on the Accounts form, you cleared the Available to All Companies option.

  3. When the Update Company Access prompt displayed, you selected Yes.

If you did not wait for the update in Step 2 to finish processing before selecting Yes in Step 3, you received the following error message: "Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'CACompanyMappingPK'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.CACompanyMapping'. The duplicate key value is (733.00, PR). The statement has been terminated."


Settings >> General >> Communications


Defect 1689414: The Password field displayed a random alphanumeric value. Although it was not the actual password, your entry in the field was supposed to be masked with asterisks as you typed. This issue occurred for on-premises databases.


Settings >> General >> Screen Designer


Defect 1671931: This issue occurred if, for any hub, both the grid and column names shared the same ID in Settings » General » Screen Designer. When you tried to access the hub from the Navigation pane or from Screen Designer, you received this error message: “Cannot determine gridid for custom table name."


Settings >> Workflow >> User Initiated Workflows and Scheduled Workflows


Defect 1653850: When you selected any application with the Area option set to workflow, the Print All Workflows button on the Actions bar was sometimes enabled (or disabled) when it should not have been.


Defect 1679300: This issue occurred in User Initiated Workflows and Scheduled Workflows for workflows with multiple actions in the Actions grid. After you configured the conditions of an action on the Conditions dialog box, if you then displayed the Conditions dialog box again for the same action, the dialog box sometimes incorrectly displayed conditions from a previous action in the Action grid.


Transaction Center >> AP Invoice Approvals


Defect 1462681: This issue occurred when you, in creating an AP Invoice Approval record, entered a value in the Route To field. Initially, the name of the employee or the organization was correctly displayed in the adjacent field. However, when you refreshed the web page, the value of in the adjacent field changed to the identification number of the employee or the organization.


Defect 1628739: This issue occurred on the AP Invoice Approvals form when there were no tax codes entered in the submitted record. When you tried to reject the AP invoice, you received the following error message: "Tax codes are required for AP transactions."


Defect 1654696: When you submitted an AP Invoice record for approval, Vantagepoint duplicated the record. When you tried to view the duplicate record, you received an "Ambiguous results found" error message. This issue occurred when you set the AP Liability option to Consultant Liability.


Defect 1698975: This issue applies if you use a multicompany database. On the AP Invoice Approvals form, when you clicked the Total Tax Amount field of an AP voucher item, Vantagepoint displayed tax codes from your active company instead of tax codes that belonged to the company in which the AP invoice approval record was created.

Defect 1573872: AP vouchers did not post to the account that was defined by the liability code.


Transaction Center >> Transaction Entry >> Cash Receipts


Defect 1689579: This issue occurred when you entered details in a cash receipt transaction record or file. If you selected the Invoice Lookup without first entering or selecting a project in the Project Information grid, you received an "Internal Server Error" message.

Defect 1645383: When you printed an Invoice Posting Log, the transaction and posting details (such as the period, posting date, user who posted the transaction, and others) were missing. This issue occurred if the following were true:

Defect 1672855: When you imported projects (WBS1) with phases (WBS2) into Vantagepoint, some phases were imported without a parent project. This issue occurred when the parent project did not pass the import process validation.


Utilities >> Integrations >> Connect


Defect 1696551: When you opened your Microsoft Outlook mailbox and tried to load the Vantagepoint Connect add-in, if you clicked the Log in with Azure AD (SSO) button, nothing happened and you could not log in.


Utilities >> Key Conversions >> Firms


Defect 1689522: This issue occurred if you posted multiple vendor payments in a single posting run and combined two vendor records from that payment posting run on the Combine Records tab. The records were combined, but you received an error message and an "orphaned" vendor record was created in the database.


Utilities >> Key Conversions >> Projects' Organization


Defect 1684173: This issue occurred when you tried to convert a large batch of project records in a single company database or for other companies in a multicompany database. When you ran the Projects' Organization Key Conversion utility to combine records, you received the following error message: "The incoming request has too many parameters. The server supports a maximum of 2100 parameters. Reduce the number of parameters and resend the request."
