Maryland 2022 Tax Updates
Maryland's 2022 withholding guide, revised March 2022 and effective January 2022, includes the following updates:
The standard deduction, which is 15% of the employee's gross income subject to a minimum and maximum, increases to a minimum of $1,600 and a maximum of $2,400, up from a range of $1,550 to $2,350.
The annual income threshold below which single employees and students are not subject to withholding also increases, from $12,400 to $12,550.
The guide's percentage methods, on the other hand, remain unchanged from the previous revision (dated January 2021). For more information, see: https://marylandtaxes.gov/forms/21_forms/Withholding_Guide.pdf.
Utah 2022 Tax Updates
The updates for Utah are effective as of May 1, 2022:
The tax rate decreases from 4.95% to 4.85%.
The base allowances increase from $360 to $390 for single employees and from $720 to $780 for married employees.
The amounts subtracted from wages in the formulas' Line 4, to determine how much the allowances are reduced, increase from $7,128 to $7,774 for single employees and from $14,256 to $15,548 for married employees.
For more information, see: https://tax.utah.gov/forms/pubs/pub-14-may2022.pdf.
Make Vantagepoint an OAuth Service Provider
Vantagepoint can now serve as an OAuth service provider to delegate authorization decisions across a network of web applications and APIs, through the Authorization Code grant type. This grant type allows the exchange of authorization codes for access tokens that adds another layer of security an implicit grant type cannot provide.
New Currency Code for Sierra Leone
Sierra Leone's currency, the Leone, has been redenominated by removing three zeros from the denominations. The new currency code representing the new valuation, SLE, was added to Vantagepoint in April 2022 and is available for any processing needs during the redenomination process. Both the old (SLL) and new (SLE) codes are now available on the Currency Options form (Settings » Currency » Options). The Deltek Vantagepoint API also supports both codes beginning in April 2022.
The Sierra Leonean currency will continue to be the Leone and this will not change after redenomination. However, SLE will eventually replace the old currency code, SLL, as the official currency code. The Bank of Sierra Leone will adopt the new code in the local system, but SLL will remain in use until further notice. During the transition period, both the old and new Leone will be in physical circulation for at least 90 days.
Change Password Feature in Vantagepoint Mobile
The Change Password feature is now available in Vantagepoint Mobile. You can change your password on the Login screen if your password is already expired, manually reset your password through the Vantagepoint Mobile app setting, or change your password on your next login when your administrator requires it. The Change Password button is not available in your mobile app settings if you are logging in through Single-Sign On (SSO) or Windows Authentication.
Forgot Password Feature in Vantagepoint Mobile
The Forgot Password feature is now available in Vantagepoint Mobile. On the Log In Assistance screen, tap Forgot your password? and then enter your User ID. If you enter a valid User ID, a step-by-step procedure on how to change your password is sent to the registered email address for your user account. If you enter an invalid User ID, you do not receive an email message.
Retrieve User ID Feature in Vantagepoint Mobile
The Retrieve User ID feature is now available in Vantagepoint Mobile. On the Log In Assistance screen, tap Forgot your user ID? and then enter your email address. If you enter a valid email address, you receive a step-by-step procedure on how to retrieve your User ID. If you do not enter a valid email address or there are multiple employees with the email address, you do not receive the instructions.
TLS Certificate Pinning Feature on Touch Server
TLS certificate pinning is an additional security layer for Touch application traffic. This technique helps prevent "man-in-the-middle" attacks when users connect to the Touch URL. Vantagepoint administrators can now add TLS certificate fingerprints (or thumbprints) in the configuration.ini file of Touch 5.0 server or later.
This new security feature ensures that Touch users only connect to the Touch URL that matches the TLS certificate fingerprints that your administrator specifies. The Touch application validates the TLS certificate of the Touch URL against the fingerprints recorded in the configuration.ini file.
For this functionality to work, Touch users should also meet the following requirements:
Touch 5.0 installer or later
Touch 5.0 application or later
This functionality is only available in the Touch native application; it is not available in the Touch web application.
Usage Statistics Screen and Usage Tracking Option Now Hidden in the iOS Settings of Vantagepoint Mobile
Starting with iOS 14.5, the Usage Statistics screen and the Usage Tracking option in the iOS settings of Vantagepoint Mobile applications will be hidden. This is to comply with the iOS 5.1.2 Legal: Privacy – Data Use and Sharing guidelines.
Upgrade Touch Server to PHP 8.1.4
The Touch Server for this version of the Vantagepoint mobile application has been upgraded to support PHP 8.1.4.
Business Card Scanner: Create Contacts from Images
Mobile CRM now offers a business card scanner, which you can use to add new contacts from a photo of a business card. You can capture business card details with one of two options:
On the Navigation menu, tap Capture Business Card.
On the Add Contact screen, tap Capture business details from business card.
After you capture a business card image or select an existing one, the business card scanner feature analyzes the contact details and populates the Add Contact screen. If a key field such as Name or Email Address cannot be detected, you can retake the photo or manually enter the information. If a duplicate is found, a list of duplicate contact records is displayed. You can then decide to edit the existing contact or create a new contact. You can create a new contact if there are two persons with the same name.
The business card scanner feature also analyzes the firm address on the business card. For new lead contacts, the firm address populates the Business field on the Add Contact screen. For new qualified contacts, if the firm has no address and your user role can add a firm address in the Firms hub, you can add a new address to the firm and associate that address to the contact. The associated address will be the business address and marked as the primary address.
If your user role is not permitted to add a firm address, the Home/Other fields are populated. However, if the matched firm has at least one address, the firm’s address is checked against the address on the business card. After this analysis, the matching address is assigned to the contact. If there are multiple firm addresses that match the ZIP/postal code of the address on the business card, or if there is no firm address that matches the ZIP/postal code, the Home/Other fields are populated instead.
Enter Time Using Your Keypad
You can now enter time directly in the Start/End time fields of Mobile CRM using your device's keypad.
Enter Dates Using Your Keypad
You can now enter a date directly in the Date field (including user-defined Date fields) using your device's keypad when creating or updating contact, project, firm, and activities records in Mobile CRM.
ICR Setting for Mobile CRM Added in Vantagepoint
Mobile CRM now uses Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) technology. With ICR enabled, Mobile CRM automatically scans and analyzes a captured or selected business card image, maps the captured data, and populates the matched fields so you can create a new contact or verify if there is already a duplicate contact record. Mobile CRM uses the image only to read the data and does not store the image.
To enable ICR in Mobile CRM, use the Use Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) in Mobile CRM option that is now available in Settings » CRM in Vantagepoint.
The ICR feature works when you use your device’s camera, or select an image from the archive or camera gallery through Capture Business Card option on the Navigation menu. Alternatively, you can also add a new contact on the Add Contact screen or tap the option on the Edit Contact screen to update an existing Contact using the business card details. This option is also available for adding new contacts through Firms or Projects.
Enter Time Using Your Keypad
You can now enter time directly in the Start/End time and Meal start time/Meal end time fields of Mobile Time & Expense using your device's keypad.
Enter Dates Using Your Keypad
You can now enter a date directly in the Date field using your device's keypad when creating or updating expense reports in Mobile Time & Expense.
Key Format Updates on Synced Project Records
When you run the Key Format update utility in Utilities » Key Formats » Projects in Vantagepoint, the sync between project records in Vantagepoint and PIM is maintained. For example, if you run the key format utility to change the value in the project number Field Length field from five characters to seven, the utility changes both the project number in Vantagepoint and the corresponding project number in PIM.
Key Conversion Updates on Synced Project Records
Similarly, when you run the Key Conversion update utility in Utilities » Key Conversions » Projects in Vantagepoint, the sync between project records in Vantagepoint and PIM is maintained. For example, if you run the key conversion utility to change the project number (on the Change Number tab of the Projects form in Key Conversions) from 12345 to 67890, the utility changes both the project number in Vantagepoint and the corresponding project number in PIM.
Prerequisites for Ensuring that the Updates Sync Correctly
To make sure that the key format or key conversion update syncs to PIM successfully, you complete two actions:
On the Setup tab in Utilities » Integrations » PIM, you must select the Enable Sync to PIM option and select the relevant Projects hub charge type options (Regular, Overhead, and/or Promotional).
To verify that you can connect from Vantagepoint to PIM, click the Test Connection button, which is located beside the PIM Shared Secret field at the top of the integrations form.
Update General Ledger API Endpoints for PSA Module to Support the FilterHash Functionality
The general ledger API endpoints for the Vantagepoint PSA module now support the filterHash functionality. The filterHash query string parameters allow you to limit results data further by supporting advanced filter options through the use of an encoded array of values.
For more information about the filterHash query string parameters, see the Deltek Vantagepoint API Reference documentation.
Billing Invoice, AP Voucher, and Expense Report Enhancements for Canadian and UK Customers
This enhancement applies only for the integration with Canadian and UK QuickBooks Online databases. Vantagepoint billing invoices, accounts payable vouchers, and expense reports that are added to QuickBooks Online during synchronization now allow for tax by line item, even when the tax amount is zero.
During synchronization between Vantagepoint and Canadian and UK QuickBooks Online databases, the following now occur:
Vantagepoint billing invoices are added to QuickBooks Online. Billing invoices with tax have the required tax by line item. You no longer receive the “Item cannot be stored in QuickBooks” error message during integration.
When Vantagepoint AP vouchers and expense reports with tax are added to QuickBooks Online, they have tax by line item.
Defect 1634314: On the General tab in Intercompany Billing, the timestamp in the Posted field in the Intercompany Postings grid did not correctly display the local time for the posting.
Defect 1610191: This issue occurred in Interactive Billing when you transferred all billing labor transactions of a project to another project after you submitted the invoice for approval. When you clicked the Unsubmit action, you received the following error message: "The invoice was not submitted because there was nothing to print."
Defect 1616225: In Interactive Billing, when you clicked Other Actions » View Supporting Documents, the Associated Documents grid on the Supporting Documents dialog box incorrectly showed expenses that had a date outside the bill through date that you specified for the billing session.
Defect 1635420: On the Invoice History tab, when you created a new credit memo and added new project details, the newly added phases and tasks were not included in the invoice file. (The Add Project Detail link should have been disabled in this scenario.)
Defect 1629591: When you selected the Include Missing Charges from Prior Statements and the Auto Clear options on the Credit Card Reconciliation form, the value of the Statement Date field was replaced with the value of the Current Date field from a previous credit card statement.
Defect 1619940: On any hub form with the option to attach files, you received this error message: "SaveBO: Column 'WBS1' does not exist in table FW_ATTACHMENTS." This issue occurred when you completed the following actions:
Delete an existing file and do not click Save.
Upload a new file and click Save.
Defect 1633055: On the Boilerplates form, if you inserted a memo in the Text field that included a less than symbol (<) and saved the boilerplate, Vantagepoint interpreted the symbol as a script tag. As a result, all values were removed from the boilerplate's Text field.
Defect 1606991: When you entered a contact as a New Lead in Detail view, if you then switched to List view and back to Detail view again, the Firm column disappeared.
Defect 1620082: The Contacts form went blank if you navigated quickly to other hubs and back again.
Defect 1619822: If you created an employee but their role did not have access to pay types, the Pay Type field defaulted to Null instead of Hourly. When you made any updates to the record and saved, you received this error message: "Please review values on tabs, Accounting, Payroll."
Defect 1561910: When you clicked the Billed Invoice field on the Invoice Details dialog box, the invoice lookup did not load invoice records automatically. You had to enter at least one filter to display the list of invoices.

If you then tried to change the value of the Type option to Character, you received an "Invalid Sum Column" error message.
Defect 1634522: On the Summary Pane of the Marketing Campaigns form, when you modified the value of the Actual Cost field and saved the record, the value was reset to 0.
Defect 1605464: If Vantagepoint is set up to maintain an audit trail for the Projects hub and you changed the value in the Contract Number field on the Contracts tab of the Contract Management form, the audit trail detail information for that change was not correct. Instead of just a contract number change, the audit trail indicated that all of the amount fields for that contract changed from one contract number to another, with no changes to the amounts. The from and to contract numbers were not displayed.
Defect 1628459: Duplicate invoices, with an empty value under the Billing Client column, were displayed for some invoices in the Invoices grid on the Invoices form.
Defect 1629545: This issue occurred after upgrading from Vision to Vantagepoint. On the Labor tab of the Plan form, the value in the Baseline Hours field was converted correctly, but the amount in the Baseline Billing or Baseline Cost field was not converted and the field was blank.

Navigated to Hubs » Projects » Contract Management and clicked the Contract tab.
Clicked + Add Contract, entered values for the required fields in the Contract Management grid, and selected the Include in Fees option (which is available when Vantagepoint is set up to synchronize contract amounts and compensation amounts).
Clicked Save.
You should have received a warning message to inform you that Vantagepoint could not confirm that the contract amounts were fully distributed due to the different functional currencies between the levels.

Defect 1627710: This issue occurred if you set the Autonumbering feature for Project with the Allow Override of Auto Number check box selected in Settings » Workflow » Numbering and you tried to do the following:
On the Projects form, you either clicked +New Project to create a new project or selected Other Actions » Copy Project to quickly create a new project by copying data from an existing one.
On either the New Project form or the Copy Project form, you clicked Continue.
Vantagepoint was unable to validate the project number. As a result, the Project Number field displayed "auto-numbered" instead of displaying the project number.
Defect 1633057: In List view on the Projects form, when you updated fields in the grid and then clicked above the grid, the Please Wait indicator did not stop spinning and the projects were not updated until you refreshed the page.
Defect 1647438: When you clicked the Teams tab on the Projects form, you received a warning message that the RecordType field (Type field) in the Team Members grid had been secured for your role and to check permissions. When you checked the Team Members grid settings in Screen Designer (Other Actions » Design on the Projects form), the field security for the Type field had been incorrectly changed to Secured for all roles.
Defect 1633641: When you drilled down on Direct Labor Hours in Project Review, employees with net zero hours or negative hours did not display.

When you clicked the link under the Project Name column to display the info bubble and then clicked Open in Projects in the info bubble, Vantagepoint displayed the Projects hub with the following error message: "You do not have access." (This happened even if you could successfully access the project record directly from the Projects hub.)
Defect 1633424: The Project Detail Dashpart did not display the correct breakdown of hours charged to an employee. Instead of adding hours to each assigned employee, all hours were charged to one employee.
Defect 16111704: When you imported new credit card charges in Cash Management » Credit Card Reconciliation, you received a new charge available email message containing a link to the imported charges. On the Columns & Groups tab, you grouped data using a user-defined field or any of the following fields:
Project Currency Code

Defect 1624700: You were unable to release a blanket purchase order line item when the unit price for the line item had a decimal value that was equal to, or less than, .50. In the validation message, the unit price values displayed were rounded down to the whole number. This issue occurred when you did not specify a value in the Not To Exceed field on the Agreement tab, under the Blanket Order section.
For example, you had approved line items with unit prices of 100.50, 99.49, and 98.48. When you submitted the release, a validation message displayed that rounded down decimals to whole numbers as follows: 100.00, 99.00, and 98.00.

When you accepted the warning, you received a separate error message.
