Regulatory Enhancements


Federal


Federal Withholding Tables and Payroll-Related, Inflation-Adjusted Amounts for 2022

The federal government has released a finalized version of the federal withholding tables. Among the updates are the following:

The annual withholding allowance remains at $4,300 in 2022.

Various amounts in the Internal Revenue Code have also been adjusted for inflation in 2022. The inflation-adjusted amounts were released in Revenue Procedure 2021-45. Payroll-related amounts that are to change include, but are not limited to, the following:

District of Columbia SUTA Electronic Filing: ICESA Record Updates in DCETS

A modernized tax system, the District of Columbia Employer Tax System (DCETS), for UI Tax program services will replace the existing Employer Self Service Portal (ESSP). The transition to the new system is expected to happen in early 2022 according to the Department of Employment Services.

North Dakota 2022 Tax Updates

North Dakota's 2022 withholding methods continue to accommodate all Forms W-4. The state provides two methods, one for pre-2020 Forms W-4 and one for Forms W-4 from 2020 or later, as it has each year since 2020. 

The value of an allowance for a pre-2020 Form W-4 is at $4,300 annually, unchanged from 2021. The tax brackets in both formulas have been adjusted, while the tax rates continue to range from 0 to 2.9%, with a supplemental tax rate of 1.84%.

Vermont 2022 Tax Updates

Compared to the 2021 withholding methods, the value of a state allowance increases from $4,400 to $4,500. The percentage method tax brackets have been adjusted, while the tax rates continue to range from 0 to 8.75%.

Software Issues Resolved


Accounting >> FEC File Generation


Defect 1565107: This issue applies if you use diaries in Vantagepoint. The entries for the Diary Description and Diary Type fields in the FEC file that you generated were blank. This issue occurred if the following applied: On the Transaction Settings form in Settings » Accounting » Transactions, in the Diaries grid in the Diary Auto Numbering Options section, you had entered 0/<year> in the Period field to enter diary autonumbering for the whole year.


Defect 1566075: When you generated an FEC file, the PieceRef and PieceDate fields in the file did not get populated.


Accounting >> Form 1099 Processing


Defect 1578924: The street address that you entered on the 1099-NEC tab of the Form 1099 Processing form was duplicated in the 1099-NEC work file that you generated.


Defect 1581876: When you entered state IDs that had 12 or fewer characters and then selected Other Actions » Print 1099-NEC on the Actions bar of the Form 1099 Processing form, the state names and IDs did not print on the 1099-NEC form.


Accounting >> Intercompany Billing


Defect 1571555: Invoices created in Intercompany Billing did not correctly omit the project, phase, and task totals and labels. This occurred when the invoice template that you used had the Hide Label and Total check boxes for the project, phase, and task total label fields selected on the Project Info tab of the Invoice Template Editor form (in Settings » Billing » Invoice Template Editor).

Also, when you changed the label in the Prof. Services Label field on the Project Info tab of the Invoice Template Editor form, the old label continued to display on Intercompany Billing invoices, instead of the new one.


Billing >> Batch Billing


Defect 1544112: This issue applies for projects that use billing invoice approvals with billing limits entered on the More Calculations tab in Billing Terms. In Batch Billing, when you printed draft invoices, the Billing Limits section incorrectly showed brackets around the Consultants label.


Defect 1575155: When the saved set of options that you used for a Batch Billing run contained the Billing Contact project role as the email recipient, you received the following error message in Utilities » Process Server » Queue Manager: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."


Billing >> Interactive Billing


Defect 1491962: When you billed retainage in Interactive Billing, invoices were missing from the retainage invoice if a task for a project started with "AR."


Defect 1535039: This issue occurred when you created invoices in Interactive Billing with the Post on Accept check box selected on the Billing Session Options dialog box. The invoices had incorrect invoice and posting dates that did not match the settings on the Billing Session Options dialog box.


Defect 1542018: In Interactive Billing, units did not show on an invoice when the following applied:


Defect 1568287: On the Interactive Billing form, the Calibri font was not recognized for an invoice when you clicked Other Actions » Download for Editing and then selected Rich Text Format (RTF). This issue occurred when you had selected the Calibri font for the invoice template in Settings » Billing » Invoice Template Editor and as the default font for Reporting in My Preferences. (Instead of the Calibri font, the invoice displayed with several different fonts.)


Defect 1574081: The HTML code for some project expense descriptions printed on the Billing Backup report. This occurred for expenses that included the business reason for the expense from the expense report transaction.


Billing >> Invoice Approvals


Defect 1510121: On the Invoice Approvals form, when you entered a filter in the Approver column of the Invoices grid, it did not filter the grid contents correctly.


Cash Management


Defect 1575096: This issue occurred when you navigated to Cash Management » Vendor Payments or Cash Management » Employee Payments, created a new payment run, and selected values for the First Sort, Second Sort, and Third Sort payment sorting fields. When you logged out of Vantagepoint, logged in again, and returned to Vendor Payments or Employee Payments, the sort order that you had specified was not maintained; it was incorrectly reset to the default settings.


Cash Management >> Credit Card Reconciliation


Defect 1561947: When you imported credit card charges into Vantagepoint, some of the transactions were missing when you reconciled the charges in Cash Management » Credit Card Reconciliation.


Cash Management >> Employee Payments


Defect 1503823: Cash-basis employee payments were posted to dormant accounts instead of the correct cash-basis accounts. This issue occurred even if there were no amounts specified in the Applied Advance fields in the Employee Balances grid when the payments were processed.


Cash Management >> Vendor Payments


Defect 1562939: This issue applies for automatic Vendor Payment runs. In Vendor Payments, when you edited settings on the Payment Run Settings dialog box and changed the entry in the Payment to Include field, the entry in the Vendor Type field was removed after you saved the settings.


Compound Fields Throughout Vantagepoint


Defect 1564727: Compound fields in Vantagepoint consist of multiple related fields. An example of a compound field is the Contact Information field on the Overview tab in the Contacts hub. It is comprised of a group of related fields, including Phone, Mobile, Email, and some other fields. All the related fields display together on the Contact Information dialog box, which you open by clicking the Contact Information field.

Previously in Vantagepoint, if a compound field had a related field that required an entry and it was empty, you received a message telling you that a required field on the tab needed an entry. The message did not specify which field was missing an entry. Now in this scenario, Required displays below the compound field that has a missing entry in one of its related fields. If you then click in the compound field, a dialog box displays with Required below the related field with a missing entry.

If you are a Vision customer migrating to Vantagepoint and you use the NACHA electronic payment method for a vendor: The Electronic Payment Method field in the Banking Information section of the Vendor tab in the Firms hub is a compound field. If this field is missing an entry in the related bank or account fields, you see Required at the end of the Bank Information section instead of under the Electronic Payment Method field. To see which of the related fields is missing an entry, click in the area around the Electronic Payment Method field. A dialog box of related fields displays, with Required below the related field that is missing an entry.


Hubs


Defect 1575823: This issue applied when you exported a list view in a hub and then selected the Export Codes as Additional Columns option on the Export From List View dialog box. The ID column, which displayed the internal IDs for the main records, was not included in the exported Excel file.

Defect 1424190: When you displayed the Activity form in List View and then set a primary contact for an activity, the Primary Client field was not automatically updated with the firm that was linked to the selected contact.


Hubs >> Firms >> AR Review


Defect 1535752: When you tried to save a new custom search on the AR Review form, you received a "Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'Type'..." error message.

Defect 1489667: When you used the List View in the Firms hub, the Approved for use in processing check box was incorrectly selected for records that were not approved for use in processing in the active company.


Defect 1500821: When you used the Import Contacts from CSV option in Utilities » Imports & Exports » Imports, the values for City and State/Province displayed instead of the Firm Location value from the import. This issue occurred in the following fields in the Firms hub:

Defect 1535055: When you applied invoice numbers as search criteria on the New Firm Search dialog box of the Voucher Review form, Vantagepoint did not return any results.


Hubs >> Marketing Campaigns


Defect 1551598: This issue occurred when you selected a saved search to display records on the Marketing Campaigns form and that saved search contained a user-defined field. When you switched to List View and then tried to sort the records by the user-defined column, you received the following error message: "The multi-part identifier could not be bound."


Hubs >> Projects >> Billing Terms


Defect 1417591: On the Fees tab of the Billing Terms form, when you clicked the Enable Posting by Billing Phase check box, you were able to save your changes even when you did not specify any information in the Phase and Task columns in the Billing Phases grid.


Hubs >> Projects >> Invoices


Defect 1570403: When you used a multicompany database, you could not preview invoices for projects that belonged to another company.


Hubs >> Projects >> Plan


Defect 1563179: When you checked out a plan, navigated to the Labor tab, made edits in the middle grid or calendar grid, and then clicked Publish, the plan status incorrectly remained as Not Published.


Defect 1579496: This issue occurred if you do not use multiple companies. The estimate-to-complete (ETC) values on the Labor tab of the Plan form were incorrect because the values were computed based on the default job-to-date (JTD) date of tomorrow, instead of the JTD date specified in Settings » Resource Planning.


Hubs >> Projects >> Project


Defect 1526336: When you selected a firm from the Primary Client field on the Overview tab of the Projects form and that firm was already marked as a Vendor in the Type field on the Firms grid of the Team tab, you received an error message.


Defect 1532028: On the Team tab of the Projects form, if you selected a different address in the Location Description field in the Firms grid and then selected the Overview tab, the contents of Primary Client field were blanked out.


Defect 1536568: This issue occurred when your user role granted full access to project creation but did not allow access to the Accounting tab of the Projects form. When you created a new project, the Charge Type field on the New Project form was locked and you could not create a project unless a default value was already assigned to the field.


Defect 1544102: This issue occurred when the database used only WBS1 (project) and WBS2 (phase) levels. When you navigated to Hubs » Projects » Project and selected + New Search from the project search, WBS3 (task) level fields were incorrectly available on the New Project Search dialog box.


Defect 1547673: On the Team tab of the Projects form, the Team Status field incorrectly listed Proposed for contacts. Only team members should have a value in the Team Status field.


Defect 1550753: You received an error message when you did the following on the Projects form:

  1. You created a new project and clicked the Project Structure icon.

  2. You selected a project template and clicked Use Template.

  3. You clicked Continue and then clicked Save.


Defect 1552967: When you entered a tooltip for the Organization field in the Project hub's Screen Designer, the tooltip only displayed if the project had records.


Defect 1563911: When you updated the label for the Stage field in the Projects hub Screen Designer, the new label did not update and display for the Stage field on the New Projects form.


Defect 1564941: When you created an overhead or a promotional project record, you received a warning message saying that you should review values on the Proposals tab of the Projects form. This issue occurred even when the Proposals tab was not set to display for projects with a charge type of overhead or promotional.


Defect 1564992: This issued occurred if the Stage (Capacity Calculation) field in Screen Designer » Projects was locked for your user role. The value in the Stage Capacity Calculation field on the Edit Project Structure dialog box was incorrectly changed when you did the following:

  1. You navigated to Hubs » Projects » Project and selected an existing project.

  2. You selected the Project Structure icon and clicked Edit.

  3. On the Edit Project Structure dialog box, you added a phase or task.


Defect 1570348: This issue occurred on the Accounting tab of the Project form. If you selected the Enable Overall Revenue Limit check box, selected a value in the Category to Adjust field, clicked Save, exited the Projects hub, and then returned to the Accounting tab, the value had not been saved.


Defect 1577622: This issue occurred when all days of the week were selected as non-work days in Settings » Time » Non-Work Days. When you tried to create a new project from an existing project, you received the following error message: "Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime."

Defect 1535388: When you used Project Review to view an invoice, you could not open an attachment (a supporting document) for a specific vendor.

Defect 1589668: Email settings on the Communications form in Settings » General » Communications were removed when a Vantagepoint maintenance release or hot fix was installed.


Login


Defect 1570421: You were unable to log in when you used Duo Mobile, which did not sync correctly with Vantagepoint's multi-factor authentication.


Mobile >> Mobile Time and Expense


Defect 1530555: If no user-defined fields (UDF) were set up in your database, you were unable to select an existing phase or task for a new timesheet.


Defect 1567146: This issue occurred when you attached receipts to an expense report but did not associate the receipts with new expense lines. When you tapped Cancel for any expense line, the receipt attached to the last expense line was deleted.


Defect 1568743: When you changed the selected phase of a project on a timesheet line, the unit table was cleared instead of changing to the default unit table of the associated phase.


My Preferences


Defect 1564416: This issue occurred when your company used Absence Request approval workflows, but no other approval workflows. The Delegate field was not displayed on the General tab of the My Preferences dialog box.


My Stuff >> Dashboard


Defect 1564015: This issue occurred if you have the Upcoming Milestone system dashpart in your dashboards. The saved custom search that you selected in the search filter of the Upcoming Milestones system dashpart was reset to default when you moved to another dashboard.


My Stuff >> Expense Report


Defect 1522065: This issue occurred if you did not select the Bill check box on the form when you created an expense report. When you saved the expense report, you received a "Bill Warning" message.


Defect 1545229: When an expense line item was rejected and deleted on a submitted expense report, the expense report had to be resubmitted and expense lines that were previously approved were returned to a status of Awaiting Approval.


My Stuff >> Reporting


Defect 1061674: This issue occurred for the Profit Planning Monitor report. When you changed the name of the report in the report options, the values of the Custom Budget and/or Custom Budget Variance columns were not displayed in the generated report.


Defect 1355127: If the Primary Client field was not populated on the Overview tab of the Projects hub, the client name was not displayed in the Client Name column on the Cash Receipt report.


Defect 1465924: When you generated the Contact List report and grouped by rating, the actual rating values were not displayed in the charts.


Defect 1478554: You could not sort and print by Billing Group Number or Billing Group Name on either the AR Aged report or the AR Ledger report.


Defect 1484393: When you generated the Project Planning Analysis report, the report did not display the current plan dates in the Total row.


Defect 1500171: This issue occurred with user defined list reports. When you selected the Show Final Totals option on the Columns & Groups tab of the user defined list report settings, final total values were not displayed in the generated report.


Defect 1503285: When you cleared (de-selected) the Estimate Overhead check box on the Options tab of the Project Detail report, overhead totals were incorrectly included in the generated report.


Defect 1503385: This issue occurred on the Activity List report. When you selected Search from the Records field, selected records, clicked Apply All on the Edit Activity Search dialog box, and then ran the report, the number of records displayed on the generated report did not match the number of records that you selected.


Defect 1512074: When you clicked the report link to view a saved Cash Receipts report, incorrect start and end dates were displayed in the report header. However, when you generated the report through Report options, the correct start and end dates were displayed.


Defect 1514285: On the Project Earnings report, the Cross Charge Rate column displayed the value "#Error" instead of the rate value.


Defect 1515359: When you tried to limit the records to display on a User-Defined (UDF) hub list report, there was no Only List (Grid Type) that Match Selection option available for filtering the records.


Defect 1534387: This issue occurred when you included the Posting Date column in Account Analysis reports. When you ran the report, the Posting Date column should have displayed the transaction dates based on the local time zone on your machine but did not.


Defect 1534676: When you grouped and sorted the Firm List report by a user-defined field with a firm lookup field type, the generated report incorrectly grouped and sorted firm records under a single heading.


Defect 1547406: A search for specific records returned no results when you set the following conditions: Employees - Employee = "Is Me" and Employees - Company = "Is Home Company".


Defect 1562591: When you ran a preview of the Trial Balance report, all accounts with activity in the timeframe that you specified should have been listed, but those with zero balances were incorrectly excluded.


Defect 1562761This issue applies if you have multiple work breakdown structure levels. The Project Summary report incorrectly showed only phases with activity. This occurred when you selected the Project check box for the Report Records with Activity in the Following Area field in the Report Activity Options section of the report's Options tab. The report should have showed phases with and without activity.


Defect 1563908: When you ran the Employee Labor Detail report, under the Employee report type, the amounts displayed were in project currency instead of billing currency. This issue also occurred for the Labor Detail report, under the Project report type.


Defect 1564202: This issue applies if you upgraded from Vision to Vantagepoint. Favorite reports that were saved for a role in Vision were not carried over to the list of favorite reports for that role in Vantagepoint.


Defect 1568445: When you upgraded from Vision to Vantagepoint and ran the AR Aged report in Vantagepoint, the generated report did not display AR aged information at the phase and task levels of the project.


Defect 1572997: This issue applies if you have Cash Basis Reporting enabled. The cash-basis Trial Balance report incorrectly showed the same content as the accrual-based Trial Balance report. If you compared the cash-basis Balance Sheet with the cash-basis Trial Balance, the cash-basis Balance Sheet was missing accounts.


Defect 1576078: This issue occurred for the Payroll Check Register report when, on the Options tab, in the Time Frame Options section, you set the Time Frame option to Date Range or Period Range. When you generated the report, you received this error message: "Please review values on the Options tab."


Defect 1577604: When you tried to generate the Tax Analysis Report, you received an error message.


My Stuff >> Timesheet


Defect 1472710: When you opened the Timesheets form, Vantagepoint displayed a large blank space on the side of the grid.


Defect 1506813: On the Floor Check dialog box, the Last Saved column displayed the timestamp information in the UTC time standard instead of the local time on your computer.


Defect 1560839: Comments that you added to your unit entries were not saved if you already used the same comment on a prior entry.


Defect 1572850: Searching for and selecting a project for a timesheet took several seconds when row level security was applied to the user's role.


Defect 1575633: On the Timesheet form in My Stuff » Timesheets, when you entered a project for a line item, you received a "System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request..." error.

This issue occurred if both of the following applied:


Defect 1580952: This issue occurred after you upgraded to Vantagepoint 4.5.4.3 and when you had the Apply Project Access To Timesheets check box cleared (not selected) for a security role on the Record Access tab of the Roles form in Settings » Security » Roles. When you entered a timesheet, Vantagepoint incorrectly behaved as if the Apply Project Access To Timesheets check box had been selected.

Defect 1572297: This issue occurred if you use timesheet approvals, you have a large Vantagepoint database, and you have a large number of employees using Timesheet or Mobile Time. When you opened My Stuff » Timesheet or Mobile Time, you received deadlock errors.

Defect 1546706: When you clicked the invoice links in AR Aging email alerts, the project record on the Project form of the Project hub was displayed instead of the invoice record on the Invoice form of the Projects hub.

Defect 1574094: When you exported a proposal as a Word document, the generated file was not displayed according to the formatting styles that you specified in the proposal template.

Defect 1517014: On the Purchase Order form, when you opened an existing purchase order for a dormant vendor and clicked Other Actions » Copy, you were incorrectly allowed to create a purchase order for the dormant vendor.

Defect 1545160: When you used the advanced search and created groupings to optimize the searches, you received this error message: "These conditions are already in a group and cannot be grouped again."

This issue occurred in all applications, for searches that have nested groupings.

Defect 1532085: On the Detail tab of the Account Tables form, if you selected Other Actions » Copy, deleted an account group in the Detail Account Groups grid, and clicked Save, an issue occurred when you navigated to Settings » General Ledger » Chart of Accounts. The account group that you deleted was still visible in the Account Groups grid for the account that was included in that Detail Account Group.

Defect 1567411: This issues applies if you track multiple companies in Vantagepoint. On the Buyer tab of the Purchasing & Inventory Company Settings form in the desktop application, you were unable to assign a buyer from another company. You should have been able to assign a buyer from any company in your enterprise.

Defect 1570446: When you deleted a user-defined field, if the field had been selected in Settings » Security » Roles on the Access Rights tab for group access for a report, it was not removed from the report’s group access as it should have been.

Defect 1464159: When you created a new activity workflow action for a user initiated workflow and set the Ends field to By Occurrences, no activity was created on the Activities tab of the new project associated with the user initiated workflow.


Defect 1560499: When you added multiple conditions to a user-initiated workflow and then deleted the operators in the AND/OR column on the Conditions dialog box, Vantagepoint incorrectly allowed you to save these workflow changes.


Transaction Center >> AP Invoice Approvals


Defect 1497610: When you entered notes for an AP invoice record before you clicked any action (such as Reassign, Suspend, Resume, or Reject), your notes were not saved for the AP invoice.


Defect 1532887: Users with a status of Terminated or Inactive did not display in the From list on the Reassign dialog box.


Defect 1564187: On the AP Invoice Approval form, when you used the Approve » Reassign action to change the approver of a submitted AP invoice, the invoice still displayed on the AP Invoice Approvals form for the original approver after logging out and then back in to Vantagepoint. This occurred if the original approver's security role had Assignments Only access for the AP Invoice Approvals application on the Record Access tab in Settings » Security » Roles.


Defect 1565848: This issue applies if you use approvals for AP invoices. In Transaction Center » Transaction Entry » AP Vouchers, you received an "Invalid address for vendor <xxxx> in file <xxxx>…." error. This issue occurred when you posted an AP voucher file with a voucher that was created from an approved AP invoice.

Defect 1578471: The Creator and File columns displayed no values for recurring files that were created in Vision.

Defect 1518690: When you voided a transaction in Interactive Billing and immediately navigated to the Transaction Center, the transaction record that you voided was not displayed under All Transactions.

Defect 1549635: When you selected multiple invoices for the same project on the Cash Receipts form, the detail line was duplicated and the cash receipt total was tripled.

Transaction Center >> Transaction Entry >> Journal Entries


Defect 1575499: This issue applies if you have multiple companies in Vantagepoint. When you viewed the details for a journal entry file, the drop-down list in the Due To/Due From field in the Project Information grid on the Journal Entries form should have included all companies. Instead, it included only the companies that your security role has access to (as specified in Security » Settings » Roles, on the Access Rights tab for the Companies functional area).


Units Lookup


Defect 1518874: When you used the Unit lookup in various applications throughout Vantagepoint, it could take a long time to load.


Utilities >> Analysis >> Multicompany Analysis


Defect 1418676: This error occurred when, in the desktop application, you selected Utilities » Analysis » Multicompany Analysis, clicked Schedule Analysis, and created a job. After the job was complete, when you selected Utilities » Analysis » Multicompany Analysis again and clicked Report, the Multicompany Analysis Log report included sections related to modules that were not owned for your Vantagepoint configuration.


Utilities >> Desktop Imports


Defect 1567186: This error occurred when you did the following:

  1. In the desktop application, you navigated to Utilities » Desktop Imports.

  2. You pressed CTRL + SHIFT, clicked anywhere on the Main tab of the form, and entered the password to unlock the advanced import area.

  3. You selected and imported a file.

You received an error message during validation. When you clicked Print Error Report, the Import Error Report showed that rows set to use the Revenue Forecast (r) allocation method were not validated.


Defect 1567727: When you used Utilities » Desktop Imports in the desktop application to import project data from a text file, the values in Date and Time for a custom project field were incorrect.

Defect 1497750: When you imported a firm with a vendor firm type, you did not receive a notification or error message to indicate that the vendor number was required. This issue occurred when you imported a comma-separated values (.csv) file that contained a firm record with the vendor firm type, but without a vendor number. The firm record was added to Vantagepoint without a vendor number, even though Vendor Number is a required field. (The field is located on the Vendor tab of the Firms form in Hubs » Firms » Firms.)

Defect 1546494: This issue occurred when you upgraded from Vision to Vantagepoint. The PIM IDs for existing PIM records were duplicated after you upgraded to Vantagepoint.


Utilities >> Key Conversions >> Contacts


Defect 1574388: This issue occurred when duplicate contact records were associated with each other in the Contacts hub. When you used the key conversion utility to merge the duplicate contact records, you received the following error message: "Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'ContactToContactAssocPK'."

Defect 1562585: This issue applies if you have multiple companies set up in Vantagepoint. When you entered part of an organization name without a delimiter in the New Organization field and then selected the filtered results on the lookup dialog box, you received this error message: "New Organization: With multicompany enabled, the Organization being converted to must be within the same company."


Defect 1567725: This issue applies when you have multiple companies set up in Vantagepoint. When you entered part of an organization name in the New Organization field and then selected the filtered results on the lookup dialog box, the value that was displayed in the New Organization field did not match the organization that you selected from the lookup dialog box.


Utilities >> Updates >> Refresh Billing Extensions


Defect 1500431: This issue occurred when you clicked Run on the Actions bar of the Refresh Billing Extensions form in Utilities » Updates » Refresh Billing Extensions or the Revenue Generation form in Accounting » Revenue Generation. A project that was not approved for use in processing was incorrectly included in the project search and you received the following error message: "at least one project has no billing terms."
