Welcome to the Deltek Vantagepoint 4.0.8 Release Notes, which describe the new features and enhancements introduced in this release.

These release notes address all of the modules associated with Deltek Vantagepoint 4.0, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of Deltek Vantagepoint.

Ohio 2021 Tax Update

Ohio's withholding methods have been revised effective September 1, 2021, to incorporate lowered income tax rates. The new tables take into consideration the income tax rate reductions that went into effect when House Bill 110 (134th General Assembly) was signed into law on July 1, 2021.

Upgrade Touch Server to PHP 8.0.11

The Touch Server for this version of the Vantagepoint mobile application has been upgraded to support PHP 8.0.11.


Software Issues Resolved


Billing >> Interactive Billing


Defect 1498715: When you clicked the link to open a supporting document, you were unable to view it and you received the following error: {‘Message’ ‘not found’}


Defect 1519300: When you retrieved a project with a large number of invoice history records, the Interactive Billing form took a long time to display.


Defect 1520970: If you selected a zero rate tax code in Settings » Cash Management » Tax Codes and then selected a project using that tax code in Billing » Interactive Billing, the tax line appeared on the invoice but did not appear on the Invoice Accept dialog box or in the General Ledger posting.


Cash Management >> Vendor Payments


Defect 1493668: When you clicked Process Payments on the Actions bar and changed the vendor's address before printing, the check printed without an address.


Defect 1503288: When you ran the Cash Requirements report in Reporting, the report included amounts from vouchers in a succeeding period. This issue occurred for automatic payment runs.


General Ledger >> General Ledger Budget


Defect 1410821: This issue occurred when you did the following:

  1. In Utilities » Period Setup, you entered a value greater than 13 in the Periods Per Year field.

  2. You selected General Ledger » General Ledger Budget and opened a budget.

  3. You selected Other Actions » Import Accounts and added accounts.

  4. For an imported line item in the Budget grid, you added an amount to the Annual field and then selected Distribute Annual.

When you clicked Save, you received an error message and the budget could not be saved.


Hubs >> Firms >> Firms


Defect 1490832: You were able to delete a firm record in the Firms hub even when it was linked to a project's stage (Lost To field) in the Projects hub. As a result, when you tried to save any changes in the project record, you received a "Firm does not exist" error message.


Defect 1513081: This issue occurred when you added a file category for the Activities hub in Settings » Labels and Lists » Lists. When you tried to upload a file through the Activities dialog box in the Firms hub, the file category was missing from the drop-down list in the Category field.


Defect 1517964: This issue occurred on the Overview tab of the Firms form. When you changed the value in the Socioeconomic Status field, your changes were not retained.


Hubs >> Marketing Campaigns


Defect 1428610: Two issues occurred on the Marketing Campaigns form:


Hubs >> Projects >> Budget


Defect 1502020: When you entered a large number of labor budget items for a project, the total amounts did not display at the bottom of the Labor Budget grid on the Labor tab of the Budget form.


Defect 1520179: This issue occurred when you exported the contents of the Labor Budget grid on the Labor tab of the Budget form as a comma-separated values (CSV) file. When you opened the CSV file in Microsoft Excel, the line items had duplicates.


Hubs >> Projects >> Planning


Defect 1497350: In Hubs » Projects » Plan, if you selected a project that included multi-day buckets that did not contain any working days, Vantagepoint did not display the values for those non-working days in the calendar portion of the grid on the Labor tab of the Plan form.


Hubs >> Projects >> Project


Defect 1454624: If you created a project with just one level in the work breakdown structure (WBS) and specified a unit table on the Accounting tab of the Projects form, that unit table entry at the top level was replaced with None if you later added a WBS element at the phase level. The same issue occurred if you entered a unit table for a phase in a two-level project structure and then added a task below that phase. The removal of the unit table from the higher level occurred because a unit table only applies to elements at the lowest level of the WBS. However, in Vision, the unit table continued to display at the higher level for informational purposes, with the Unit Table field grayed out. Vantagepoint should have done the same.


Defect 1502826: Entries that you made to the Milestones grid on the Dates & Costs tab did not record the following audit log information: Create User, Create Date, ModUser, and ModDate.


Defect 1504276: When you tried to select a department for a new or existing project record, the level 02 organization code was missing from the Select Organization list.


Defect 1509894: When you opened a very large project, the contents of the Project Details section in the Summary pane (on the left) loaded slowly.


Defect 1512131: When you clicked the column filter icon with the Projects form in List View, the expandable work breakdown structure (WBS) was removed for all projects, and rows for all WBS elements were displayed in a flat list. This was correct behavior. However, the grid rows were not sorted properly to preserve their sequence in the WBS hierarchy. Rows for lower-level WBS elements did not display below their parent project row.


Defect 1517019: This issue occurred if the Role column in the Firms grid on the Team tab of the Projects form was locked for your security role in Screen Designer. When you tried to associate a vendor firm with a project at a level of the work breakdown structure below the project level, you received a "Column:Role does not exist" error message.


Defect 1517517: If you selected the Restrict Charge Companies check box on the Accounting tab of the Projects form and displayed the drop-down list to select the charge companies, the list was incorrectly limited to 50 companies. If you had more than 50 companies in Vantagepoint, you could not select some of those companies.


Memo Fields


Defect 1523998: This issue occurred in memo fields throughout Vantagepoint. You could not copy an image or screenshot into a memo field unless you selected some text along with the image or screenshot.


My Stuff >> Approval Center


Defect 1500510: On the Approval Center form, you were able to display absence requests from all employees even when the following options were set for your role on the Record Access tab in Settings » Security » Roles:


Defect 1518746: If you selected French (Canada) as the language when you logged in and you then clicked the Approval Center, the screen of the last selected record took a long time to load.


My Stuff >> Dashboards


Defect 1495819: For dashparts with the project dashpart base, the Unposted Hours column displayed incorrect values.


Defect 1508776: When you changed the list option label for project milestones on the Project Milestone Settings dialog box (Settings » Labels and Lists » Lists), default labels were displayed in Dashboards instead of the new labels that you specified.


Defect 1511075: This issue applies for dashparts with the project dashpart base and for invoices with a total value of zero. Columns related to draft invoices did not display a value when you included them in the dashpart.


Defect 1521541: When you tried to display a dashboard with a table dashpart that had too many columns in it, you received an error message that was difficult to understand. The error message has been improved to better explain the issue.


My Stuff >> Expense Report


Defect 1521796: After you removed the second expense line from your rejected expense report and saved, the Submit button was not available.


My Stuff >> Reporting


Defect 1419454: For the Project List and Project Forecast reports, when you set the Grid Type option to Milestones, the Milestones fields were not available on the Select Groupings dialog box.


Defect 1487756: When you clicked ? and then clicked Online Help on certain report options forms, errors occurred:


Defect 1498092: This issue occurred when your user role access rights for reporting were limited to Unit reports only. When you selected the Unit Detail or Unit List report on the Reports tab in Reporting, you received an access error and the report did not open.


Defect 1499634: The following issues occurred in the Labor Resource Planned and Actuals report:


Defect 1500301: On the Options tab of the Field Security report, you set the Role option to All Roles. When you ran the report, you received an "rsProcessingAborted" error message.


Defect 1500981: This issue occurred on the AP Vouchers report preview when you ran a scheduled report from the Archived tab of the Reporting form. If you clicked the document icon in the Supporting Documents column on the generated report, Vantagepoint did not display any supporting documents.


Defect 1505144: This issue occurred when your security role did not have access to Calculated Fields, which you specify on the Overview tab in Settings » Security » Roles. When you tried to open a global calculated field on a report, the Calculated Field dialog box did not display the Help (?) and Close (X) icons.


Defect 1510964: This issue occurred on the Project Forecast report. When you changed the Report In option from Project Currency to Presentation Currency and then ran the report a second time, the amounts displayed incorrectly: The Total Compensation amount displayed using the Project Currency, instead of the Presentation Currency exchange rate.


Defect 1511096: This issue occurred with the Project Audit Detail report. When you added a new entry in the Description grid of the Proposals tab and then ran the report, the new description was not included in the generated report.


Defect 1512637: When you ran the Cash Journal report, the generated report excluded records with a transaction type of Accounts Payable Payment.


Defect 1514932: On the User Audit and User Audit Detail reports, the Status field displayed blank values because the status code was missing. This issue occurred when you:

  1. Changed the Status field in Settings » Security » Users.

  2. Navigated to My Stuff » Reporting and clicked the Favorites tab.

  3. Set the Type filter to Administration, to display Administration reports.

  4. In the Report list, selected either the User Audit or User Audit Detail favorite report, and then clicked Run to rerun the report.


Defect 1519062: This issue occurred when you used a user-defined field as a search criterion in specifying the employees to be included in the Timesheet Audit Detail report. When you ran the report, the generated output did not include records that met the search criteria you specified and you received an error message.


Defect 1522048: When you ran the Project Detail report with the Include Unposted Labor option selected on the Options tab, you received the following error message: "Query execution failed for dataset."

Defect 1512349: You were unable to save a timesheet comment if you previously added the same comment to another timesheet entry.


Payroll >> Export to Pay Interface


Defect 1509780: When you exported timesheets, you received this error: "Please check Expression and Deduction tabs." This issue occurred when you did not specify employees in the Employee Filter field on the Hours tab and the character string 'NULL' was used for the field during export.


Proposals >> SF330


Defect 1484499: On the toolbar of the SF330 Proposals form, you selected Edit » Preferences. When you specified a template to use and clicked the Merge button, you received the following error message: "Error creating result file:. TemplateDoc not found in."


Proposals >> Templates


Defect 1520427: In the Document Properties pane, you defined the properties (for example, the paper size) of a proposal document. Then, in the header field of the Templates form, you clicked Other Actions » Export to PDF. When you generated the PDF, it did not reflect the values that you set in the Document Properties pane.


Resource Management >> Reporting


Defect 1518715: If you have a large number of projects and you ran a Resource Management report without filtering the report to limit the projects included, it took a long time to generate the report.


Search


Defect 1411217: This issue occurred in the Project Detail report preview, when you selected Search & Download. If you tried to filter a search criterion using a zero (0) value and then clicked Show Results, the report did not retain the zero value filter or display all the results.


Settings >> Labels and Lists >> Lists


Defect 1511728: This issue occurred on the Activity Type Settings dialog box after you created a new activity type with the Code column set to Milestone. When you saved, closed the dialog box, and then reopened it, the new activity type was not displayed.


Settings >> Security >> Users


Defect 1490529: When you selected Other Actions » Generate Users, the period (.) delimiter in the employee number was incorrectly removed and the Employee field was blank for the new set of users.


Defect 1521828: When you cleared the Disable Login check box for a user, you received this error message: "You do not have access to update users."


Settings >> Workflow >> Scheduled Workflows and User Initiated Workflows


Defect 1500727: The following issue occurred in Scheduled Workflows and User Initiated Workflows when you created a workflow for the Projects area with a Column (Field) Change action. On the Column Change Configuration dialog box, when you selected or cleared the Apply change to lower WBS levels check box, the Apply button on the dialog box did not work.


Defect 1527876: In User Initiated Workflows and Scheduled Workflows, when you tried to delete a Column (field) Change row in the Actions grid for a workflow for the Projects area, you received the following error message: "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'ActionID')."


Settings >> Workflow >> User Initiated Workflows


Defect 1520282: This error occurred when you created a new workflow and added multiple conditions in the Conditions field. If you deleted the AND/OR operator between the conditions, Vantagepoint incorrectly allowed you to save the workflow without the operator between the conditions.


Transaction Center >> AP Invoice Approvals


Defect 1480571: When you approved an AP Invoice Approval record in AP Invoice Approvals, Vantagepoint did not create an AP Voucher transaction record in Transaction Center » Transaction Entry » AP Vouchers. This issue occurred if you:

  1. Created the AP Invoice Approval record, entered values in all fields, and saved the record.

  2. Filled in the vendor options and then submitted the record.


Defect 1498136: This issue occurred when you uploaded an AP invoice file to create a record on the AP Invoice Approvals form. When you directly copied a value from a file (for example, from a cell in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet) and then pasted that value into any field on the form, Vantagepoint uploaded it as a file and created another record with a new approval ID.


Defect 1505080: You experienced performance issues when you accessed the AP Invoice Approvals form or tried to filter records using the Purchase Order field.


Defect 1509537: On the AP Invoice Approvals form, the Account column in the Project Information grid displayed the account names instead of the account numbers for the line items.


Utilities >> Desktop Imports


Defect 1514905: When you tried to use the Desktop Imports utility in the desktop application to import project information from a text file, and you selected the Allow Updates check box on the Import Utility form, you received the following error message for all rows of the import file when you ran the import process: "ChargeType: mismatches with WBS1 ChargeType:H."


Utilities >> Process Server >> Queue Manager


Defect 1498785: This issue occurred for process server jobs that failed on the Queue Manager form. On the Process Queue Details dialog box for the failed process, when you clicked Termination Message in the Process Details grid, you received this error message "There's no row at position 0."
