Deltek Vantagepoint 3.0.7 (Build 3.0.7.1689) Release Notes Release Date: July 20, 2020 Release Notes Last Updated:
August 17, 2020
Welcome to the Deltek Vantagepoint 3.0.7 Release Notes, which describe the new features and enhancements introduced in this release.
These release notes address all of the modules associated with Deltek Vantagepoint 3.0, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of Deltek Vantagepoint.
Several changes have been implemented in the framework underlying the Choose Project Structure form, the Edit Project Structure form, and the Projects form list view to improve performance and make the Projects hub more efficient to use, particularly for large data sets. While most of the modifications are not visible, other than to make the Projects hub more responsive, this enhancement does include the following user interface changes:
When either the Choose Project Structure form or the Edit Project Structure form displays, only the top two work breakdown structure (WBS) levels are expanded. If the WBS includes a third level, it is collapsed, but you can expand it as necessary. The purpose of this change is to enable the form to display more quickly for projects with more complex structures.
With the exception of memo fields, you can now select any fields as grid columns on the Edit Project Structure form, including any custom fields, whether or not they are required fields. Previously, you could only select a custom field if it was set up in Screen Designer as a required field.
Messaging has been added to handle some situations in which you are creating a new project based on existing data (an existing project, for example), and someone deletes some of that data before you save the new project.
List View for the Projects hub is now sorted initially based on the option currently selected under Project List Sort Order on the Project Settings dialog box, but you can sort List View by any grid column by clicking the column heading. If you change the sort order, that order becomes your new default order until you change it again.
If List View displays as a hierarchical list and you sort by a column, only the project (top-level WBS) rows are sorted; phase and task (lower-level WBS) rows are always sorted in number order under their parent project. However, if you apply column filtering, which changes List View to a flat list rather than a hierarchical list, you can sort all rows based on any grid column, regardless of WBS level.
In Screen Designer, you can now easily view a list of all the user-defined fields and elements in a hub or in the chart of accounts with the new Show User Defined Fields action. After you open a hub or the chart of accounts in Screen Designer, on the Actions bar, click Other Actions » Show User Defined Fields.
This opens the User Defined Fields dialog box, which displays a list of all the user-defined fields and elements for the hub or the chart of accounts, including tabs, grids, fields, divider lines, labels, workflow buttons, and so on. The list shows you the field type, caption (field name), alternate caption, database table name, and the database column name. You can export the information from the grid to a comma-separated values (CSV) file.
For the Projects hub, this dialog box shows only the user-defined fields and elements from the area that you have open, such as Contract Management, Project, and so on.
Defect 1323296: When you ran the labor cross charge process, the process failed and you received an error message indicating that there was a duplicate primary key value. This issue occurred when you set the Use Files To Group Transactions option to No in Settings » Accounting » Transactions.
Defect 1306842 and 1314703: On the Revenue Generation form, Choose Date for Planning was renamed to Choose JTD Through Date for Planning. The functionality remains the same.
Defect 1314695: When you tried to connect to Vantagepoint in the Vantagepoint pane, the drop-down lists for the Database field and Language field were not accessible. The arrow buttons for the drop-down list were not displayed.
Defect 1312296: On the Invoice Creation tab in Batch Billing, the entry that you made and saved in the Retain Invoices for Up To field was not saved for the saved options that you specified using the Saved Options field on the tab.
Defect 1322735: When you scheduled a final run without billable data in the included projects, the batch billing run failed.
Defect 1308305: When you accepted an invoice in Interactive Billing and made changes on the Employee Realization dialog box that opened after you accepted the invoice, the Interactive Billing application would not respond.
Defect 1308924: This issue occurred in Interactive Billing on the Invoice History tab when you selected an invoice and clicked the Email option on the grid toolbar. On the Email Invoice dialog box, when you selected attendees from project roles, the Project Roles list did not display the correct roles and did not work properly.
Defect 1312853: When you enabled the Require completed approvals to post transaction files option in Settings » Accounting » Transactions, the Post on Accept check box disappeared from the Billing Session Options dialog box in Interactive Billing.
Defect 1323295: When you opened a project in Interactive Billing, the Billing Address section on the General tab did not display the billing contact name even when you set the Invoice Addressee field to Name of Billing Contact in Settings » Billing » Invoice Format. When you opened the Billing Session Options dialog box and returned to the Detail View in Interactive Billing, however, the Billing Addressee section on the General tab displayed the correct details, including the billing contact name.
Defect 1313403: This issue occurred when you assigned an invoice number to a project with an invoice approval and unbilled transactions in Interactive Billing. If you downloaded and edited the invoice, saved it as a PDF, and then uploaded and submitted it, the original version was printed in Invoice Approvals instead of the edited version.
Defect 1316634: When you clicked Clear All or Unclear All on the Receipts or Payments tab on the Bank Reconciliation form, the transactions were not selected or cleared accordingly in the Cleared column of the grid.
Defect 1310350: When you created a payment run for Employee Payments and then enabled the Employees with Expenses Selected option on the Select Expenses page, you received the following error message: "Error converting date type varchar to numeric."
Defect 1317210: When your role had access rights enabled to <All Types> in the Transaction Types grid on the Accounting tab in Settings » Security » Roles, you were unable to view any transaction in the Payments grid on the Payment Review form.
Defect 788703: The user-defined fields that used the employee or project quick lookup did not include the employee or project number.
Defect 789742: When you assigned read-only access rights to the Equipment hub, you could still edit the fields on the Additional Books tab. In addition, there was no Save option, but if you entered values and then navigated off the page, a prompt to save changes displayed and any updates to the tab were saved.
Defect 1310248: Activities were not visible to users who had appropriate access rights to activities if the security role was set up to view only their own employee records.
Defect 1098262: The Provisional Rates group of fields on the Accounting tab in the Employees hub were hidden if the user's role did not have Full Access assigned to the Labor Cost Rates/Amounts field on the Accounting tab in Settings » Security » Roles.
Defect 1317679: When you created a new contact record on the Contacts tab of the Firms form (you selected Name and then clicked + New Contact), the contact's Client Location that you selected and saved on the Contacts dialog box was not retained when you returned to the Contacts grid. Instead, the <default> value was selected.
Defect 1291629: This issue occurred on the Voucher Options dialog box, which you displayed by clicking the Voucher Options icon at the end of a grid row on the Voucher Review form. In the Voucher Line Items grid on the Voucher Options dialog box, you could not delete values in the Project, Phase, or Task columns.
Defect 1310590: If you tried to use filtering in list view for the Projects hub, Vantagepoint only applied the filters at the project level (WBS1). It did not look for the filter values at the phase (WBS2) or task (WBS3) levels. As a result, some rows that should have been displayed in the filtered view may have been incorrectly excluded.
Defect 1322143: When you you entered a unit table on the Accounting tab in the Projects hub and saved the form, you received an error message: "A Unit Table does not exist."
Defect 1324782: When you created a new project with a regular charge type, the Stage field drop-down list displayed the options alphabetically, instead of matching the order that you had defined for the Project Stage list in Settings » Labels and Lists » Lists.
Defect 1185136: The rate table number, instead of the rate table name, was displayed in the Rate Table fields on the Rates tab of the Billing Terms form. This issue occurred for any rate tables listed after the first 50 rate tables in the drop-down list of the Rate Table fields.
Defect 1310828: When you tried to copy a billing phase into multiple rows in the Fee Billing Phases grid on the Fees tab, you received an error message saying that the phase was already in use.
Defect 1311601: If you entered credit memos for taxes billed on client invoices for a project, the amount displayed in the Billed field above the Aged Accounts Receivable graph on the Invoices form in the Projects hub was incorrect. It included the billed taxes but did not also include the credit memo amounts for those taxes. (The data in the grid on that form, and the invoice details that are viewable from that grid, handled the credit memos correctly.)
Defect 1308941: In some cases, if a contact was already associated with a project, you could not add that contact to the team for a different project. Vantagepoint incorrectly excluded that contact from the search results for the Name field in the Team Members grid on the Team tab of the Projects form.
Defect 1309386: The assigned automatic numbers for project IDs of new projects were incorrect. This issue occurred when you selected or cleared the Allow Override of Auto Number check box for Projects on the Numbering form (Settings » Workflow » Numbering) and then saved. This caused a reset of the automatic numbering sequence, to zero. As a result, the auto numbering function assigned to new projects IDs that had previously belonged to other, now deleted, project records.
Defect 1312367: On the Projects form in the Projects hub, you were unable to filter project records in List View based on a shared advanced search if that search contained newly created grouped search conditions.
Defect 1313525: When you configured a workflow to prevent new phases and tasks from being added to a project when a user defined check box is selected, the workflow was not able to prevent the addition of new phases for a project when you set the Create Phase option to From Project Template on the New Phase form.
Defect 1313702: When you clicked anywhere on the Team tab of the Projects form, Vantagepoint rounded all values in the Hours column of the Team Members grid to the nearest whole hour, and the decimal point and decimal places no longer displayed. If you left the Projects hub and then returned to the Team tab, the correct values were again displayed in the Hours column.
Defect 1317094: This issue occurred when you defined Biller as a required field for the Projects hub on the Screen Designer form (Other Actions » Design). On the Edit Project Structure form, even when you added a lower-level work breakdown structure element (such as a phase or task) to a project that had an overhead charge type, the Biller field became enabled and displayed as a required field.
Defect 1317221: When you did not have access rights to Contract Management, fields related to contract management were still displayed on the Edit Project Structure form that is displayed when you click Edit on the Project Structure dialog box.
Defect 1318083: When you cleared the Allow Creation of Linked Promotional Projects option on the Record Access tab in Settings » Security » Roles, it prevented workflows from executing when you created promotional projects in the Projects hub.

These timesheets were included in the total count of timesheets in the Approval Center field drop-down list and were displayed in the Timesheets grid when you filtered by employee.
Defect 1321317: When you set Require Comments for Timesheets to No on the Accounting tab in the Projects hub, but timesheet comments were required in Settings » Time » Options, comments were still required when you added a timesheet entry via the Calendar.
Defect 1301117: The original system labels were displayed in dashboards instead of the custom labels that you configured in Settings » Labels and Lists » Labels.
Defect 1323506: The Won/Lost Notes column in predefined dashparts displayed font formatting code instead of the note text.
