Enhancements

API

Expose General Ledger Transaction Endpoints for Accounting Module

General ledger transaction API endpoints for the Vantagepoint Accounting module are now available. These new API endpoints honor existing validations and restrictions as well as security requirements at the application level.

Application Workflows

Create Application Workflows for Expense Reports

You can now set up application workflows that run each time you save expense reports. In Settings > Workflow > Application Workflows, set Area to Expense Reports, click + Add Workflow, and then set Workflow Type to At Save. Use the Actions grid to associate webhooks with the workflow.

Before you create application workflows for expense reports, make sure that there are no active web services configured for expense reports in Settings > Workflow > Web Services

Approval Center

Purchasing Records Are Now Viewable Across All Companies

If you use multiple companies, navigate to My Stuff > Approval Center to review all purchasing records that require your approval across those companies. You can review the following records:

As long as your security role grants access to the Purchasing application and to the relevant companies in Vantagepoint, you can review all approval items, no matter which company is currently active.

Approval Workflows

Get AI-Powered Recommendations for Timesheet Approvals

You can now enable AI insights to streamline your timesheet approval process. By turning on the new Enable Dela Insights for Approvals option in System > Generral > Options, you unlock intelligent recommendations and observations powered by artificial intelligence. These automatically generated insights are intended to help you make informed decisions. When enabled, this feature updates your timesheet approval configurations and activates workflows to generate insights specifically for timesheet approvals.

Ask Dela

Chat with Your Contract Documents Using Ask Dela

You can now interact with contract documents directly from the Contracts grid and the Documents dialog box. When a Document column is displayed, click the Dela icon to select one or more files from a row (or across a grid) to upload those files and start a conversation. Ask Dela suggests starter questions and answers using the document content and related project/grid context. Supported file types include text-based PDF, Word, RTF, and TXT.

New Dela Panel: Access Insights and Chat in One Place

The Dela button now opens a right-side slide-out panel, instead of a standalone chat window. This panel provides Ask Dela chat and Insights alongside your workspace. To focus your content, you can resize the panel and use filters.

Enhanced Contact Queries

Ask Dela now answers aggregate questions about contacts and supports user-defined fields and UDF grids. For example, you can analyze counts, lists, totals/averages, distributions, and cross-field metrics across status and qualification dates, firm associations, market/source, and last activity.

Query Firm Records

Ask Dela also now answers questions about firm records—including data in UDFs and UDF grids—with counts, lists, totals, averages, and year-over-year comparisons across type, location, financials, compliance (1099/W9/BEE), classifications, project activity, and purchasing.

Timesheet Anomaly Detection Insights for Approvers

When a timesheet is submitted, Vantagepoint generates AI-driven insights for assigned approvers, recommending whether to approve or reject the submission. These insights are based on historical timesheet data and detect anomalies such as unusual hours logged or changes to labor categories. If no anomalies are found, the insight suggests approval. Insights are displayed in the Dela panel for each approver at every step of an approval workflow that has been configured for anomaly detection, ensuring timely and informed decision-making.

Dashboards

Firm Dashpart Filters Applied to Drill-to Dashparts

The Filter to Drill to Dashpart option is now available on the Drill To dialog box for dashparts with the Firm dashpart base. When you set up your parent dashpart, select this option so that the filter and grouping settings of the parent dashpart are also applied to the drill-to dashpart when it is displayed.

This option does not apply for drill to dashparts with the Project Detail dashpart base.

New Info Bubble Link for Project Related Columns

In applicable project-related columns, you can now click a More... link in the info bubble to display the related project record on a new tab. Previously, info bubble links displayed a related project record on the same tab, and navigated you away from Dashboards. The More... link enables you to display the project record on a separate tab while keeping Dashboards accessible.

Database Changes

Improved Usability on the Database Changes Web Page

It is now easier to review database changes made between a previous Vantagepoint release and the latest one. The Database Changes web page now offers the following features:

Simplified Navigation: For quicker access, you can organize the information into smaller sections. To navigate between pages, use Previous/Next buttons or page numbers.

Quick Search: Use the Search field to find new tables or columns that were added in the latest release.

Flexible Display Options: You can choose how many entries appear on a page. You can also view the number of items displayed and the total number of entries.

Dela Insights

Dela Insights in Vantagepoint

Dela Insights is part of a larger initiative to integrate AI-driven intelligence into the Vantagepoint platform. Its purpose is to deliver actionable insights and timely alerts directly within the application, empowering you to make better decisions and improve operational efficiency.

To support this initiative, the Insights Tab now displays in the Dela Panel. This tab provides role-specific insights that help you make informed choices and streamline workflows. To ensure that the information is relevant for each user's responsibilities, these insights are organized by persona, such as Business Development, Project Management, Time & Expense, System Administration, and Finance & Accounting. Your Vantagepoint administrator configures and assigns the insights that align with your role in the Users application in Settings > Security.

This enhancement gives you greater flexibility by making it possible to import custom transaction details that align with your organization's requirements, beyond the standard fields. You can now capture relevant user-defined field data during the import process. This enhancement reduces manual edits, minimizes errors, and eliminates the need for manual processes to handle UDFs.

To select a UDF to be included in the AP invoice approval import:

When you select the Import option in the Project Information grid of the AP invoice approval, the Import dialog box displays the fields that can be imported, including the UDFs that have access to AP Vouchers Transaction Entry.
