General Tab

Use this tab to set values such as prefixes, default scheduling status, and security settings.

Numbering Details

Field Description
Prefix and Number Columns TrafficLIVE assigns a prefix and number to every quote, job, invoice, purchase order, tender, and expense sheet. You can configure both prefixes and numbers in this area to be in line with your company preferences.

There is no limitation on the number series that you can allocate, including numbers that you have already used.

Deltek does not recommend that you change the numbers so that you have two items that have the same prefix and number.

TrafficLIVE differentiates by IDs, not prefixes and numbers, so it does not warn you if two items have the same prefix and number. However, users may easily be confused by apparent duplications of prefixes and numbers.

The fields are read-only until you select Override.

Override Select this check box to override the existing settings and enter an alternate prefix and/or number.

Default Scheduling Status

Pending /Approved Set TrafficLIVE to schedule in either the Pending or Approved mode.
  • Select Pending if the scheduled items need approval to enter the workflow.
  • Select Approved if the scheduled items automatically enter the workflow.

Default Job Costing Type

Field Description

  • Charge band (cost based on the activity).
  • Allocation resource (cost based on the resource rate).

Security Settings

TrafficLIVE controls the expiration dates of passwords and whether users can save their passwords locally. Your company's information security policy may dictate either or both of these settings.

Field Description
Password Expiry Days Set the number of days before password expiration. If you set it to 0, the password never expires.
Allow Saving of Passwords (Yes/No) If you select Yes, TrafficLIVE saves the password in the login dialog box so that users do not have to enter them again.

If you select No, users must enter their passwords in the login dialog box every time.
