After the Microsoft Project file or project has been loaded into PM Compass, log files are generated to indicate any errors or warnings that were encountered during the process. The log file name depends on the process or error.
The prefix for each log filename is the project name.
<project name>_MspImport_<unique timestamp>.log: This log is generated by the integration process when an MSP or Project Server project is imported into Open Plan from MSP. For example, vessel_01_MspImport_20250402110338.log.
<project name>_MspExport_<unique timestamp>.log: This log is generated by the integration process when an MSP or Project Server project is exported from Open Plan from MSP. For example, MSP_TEXT_HOURS_STATU_MspExport_20180427053949.log.
The log files are stored in a <logs> folder (the folder name is whatever you chose to call it) on the application server in the location you specified during the PM Compass installation. Every time a process is run, a new log file is created with a unique timestamp at the end. You can use the Links tab to add an entry to the process logs. Clicking the link on the Links tab displays the most recent log file.
After the integration, if the process log contains the "An exception occurred during the import process in Function ImportProject" error, you should confirm that your integration settings are correct.
You can view and edit the log file path on the File Folders tab in System Settings.
