The Authentication tab helps you configure the Authentication Options settings for Cobra.
Enter a defined number of times Cobra checks the database for relevant information or updates. A maximum value of 999 is allowed, followed by the character s for seconds, m for minutes, or h for hours. A value of zero (0) means that the application does not check the database for updates. By default, this field is set to 30s.
Enter a maximum time of inactivity allowed in Cobra before it closes. You can use a numeric value from 0 through 999.
When the maximum time of inactivity has elapsed, a warning message displays, informing you that the application terminates in a specific time (for example, in 20 seconds). Clicking Close stops the time-out process, and allows you to continue your current session.
Enter a maximum number of login retries allowed in Cobra. You can use a numeric value from 0 through 999. A value of 0 means that you can only attempt a login once prior to Cobra closing.
Select this option to define if Windows Authentication for a selected user's login is on or off for Cobra. Selecting it determines whether the user who is attempting to log on to an application has a permission to access that application. It also allows you to deny access to non-licensed users. By default, it is not selected.
This option allows single point sign-on by picking up the Windows login. The password is not stored within EPM Security Administrator (SA) because the assumption is made that you need the password to log on to Windows. The Windows user ID is then used to determine the access rights of the individual.
Select this option to enable or disable auditing for an application. Selecting this option enables the Audit Log Level drop-down list, allowing you to configure the amount of audit logging that the application can perform. By default, it is not selected.
Select a level of logging that the application can perform when auditing is enabled. The list includes the following levels:
Error — Select this option to audit errors only, passing a value of 1 to the database and only audit errors. By default, this option is selected.
Warning — Select this option to audit both warnings and errors, passing a value of 2 to the database and audit both warnings and errors.
Information — Select this option to audit information, warnings, and errors, passing a value of 3 to the database and audits information, warnings, and errors.
Debug — Select this option to perform all auditing functions, passing a value of 4 to the database and perform all auditing functions.
