The Invoke Web Service action allows you to invoke a specified Web service. A Web service is a way to call code located on a different machine via HTTP.

To create an Invoke Web Service action for a workflow:
Display the Alerts form. How?
Select an Area type from the drop-down list. This field dictates the area of PM Compass to be used in the alert’s conditions and actions.
In the Alerts grid, select the workflow row (event) to which you want to add the action.
In the Actions grid, click Insert and select Invoke Web Service.
Complete the fields on the Web Service Configuration dialog box.
Complete the field in the Alerts grid.
Click Save.
