Process Queue

A process queue is a named waiting list to which you can submit Deltek PM Compass functions or processes. It is assigned to a process server when you start the process server on a workstation that runs PM Compass. The process server, on the other hand, handles reports, scheduled alerts, and workflows. It allows you to submit jobs to the process queue and then schedule them for processing. It delegates lengthy jobs to the PM Compass server, which, in turn, runs the jobs in the background. By doing this, the process server keeps the workstation free for other tasks.

For more information, see System Settings Overview.

You can define multiple process queues, each of which may be monitored by individual process servers simultaneously. If you modify a process queue that is currently running or has been paused (meaning, the process queue is assigned to a process server), PM Compass does not reflect changes to the queue setup until the next poll of the process queue by its associated process server.
