File Management Related Topics: File Management To help you handle project-related data files, Open Plan provides various functions related to file management. Opening a File Each time that you open a file in Open Plan using the File Open dialog box, you can select the access mode for the operation. Saving Files Open Plan provides two ways to save files. Saving Files as Text When during either a Copy or Cut operation, you select more data than can fit on the clipboard, Open Plan asks whether you want to save a text file representation of the data for use by an external program such as Excel. Closing Files The operation performed when you issue a Close command depends on which method you use and the context in which you issue the command. Backing Up a File The Backup File command enables you to create a backup copy of a project and any files associated with that project. Restoring Data You can use the Restore Data command to restore the information stored in a backup file set. Deleting a File With the Delete File command, you can delete any project or project-related data file from the data source. Changing the Access Mode Open Plan supports different access modes. Changing Ownership and Access Rights You can change the ownership and/or access control information for one or more project, resource, code, calendar, or view objects using the Change Ownership and Access Rights dialog box.
