Process Name

Detail Forms:

Process Generation

Process Dependency

The Process Name form displays the available export processes (LABOR_EXPORT, OUT_SAP_CONF21, etc.). Export processes are used to determine where transactions will be sent when they are exported.

When a transaction is posted, the system needs to determine which export process (if any) to assign to the transaction. To do so, the system checks the person’s Process Policy. The Process Policy determines which export process to assign to the transaction.

The export process is also defined in an Export Definition (PROCESS_NAME Export Parameter). The Export Definition will select transactions with the export process specified in the PROCESS_NAME parameter.

If you want to send the same transaction to more than one labor export, you can create a new labor export process on the Process Name form. After you create the new labor export process, you need to add it to your Process Policy and Export Definition. For more details see Multiple Labor Export Processes.

Process Name Field Descriptions

Process Name

Name of the export process.

Process Type

Always displays “EXPORT.”

Sender Name Required

Indicates whether a Sender Name is required for this export process. The Sender Name will be used to determine which external system will receive the transactions.

If this box is checked, a Sender Name is required for the export process. The system will check to see that the person posting the transaction has a Process Policy. If so, the system will check to see that the Sender Name is defined in either the Event or Process tab of the Process Policy. A trans_action_process status record will not be generated unless this Sender Name can be found.

Use Policy Interface

Indicates whether the Process Policy has to be checked for this export process.

If this box is checked, the export process will check the person’s Process Policy to determine which Process Name and Sender Name to assign to a transaction.

First, the system checks the Event records in the Process Policy. If the event being posted does not have a Process Policy/Event record, the system checks the Process records. If there are no Process Policy/Event or Process Policy/Process records, then the transaction will not be assigned any export processes.

Cancel Complete

When this box is checked, the status of the export process will not change from C (Complete) to D (Cancelled And Any Further Processing Complete) if a transaction is adjusted or recalculated.

System Required

If this box is checked, the export process cannot be deleted. This box will not be checked for any custom export processes you define.

Update Date, Updated By

These fields display when the record was created or updated, and the person who created or updated the record.

Copy or Delete a Process Name

If you want to send the same transaction to more than one labor export, you can create a new labor export process on the Process Name form. To do so, use the Copy button. When you select a process and click Copy, a pop-up window appears. Enter a new name for the export process and click Save. The Process Generation and Process Dependency records from the original export process will also be included in your duplicate.

You can delete a custom export process (for which the System Required box will not be checked). To do so, select the export process and click Delete.

You can filter the export processes that appear on the Process Name form by using the Process Name filter field. You may have to click the Filter button to display this field.

Process Generation

The Process Generation tab on the Process Name form displays the service that will generate a process status record for the selected export process. For example, if you select the LABOR_EXPORT process on the Process Name form, the Process Generation tab will display the PAIR_FORMATION service. PAIR_FORMATION will create a LABOR_EXPORT process status record. This record will be created for both punch and elapsed transactions (indicated by the Action Type “B”). It will have the Process Status of “R” (indicated by the Generated Process field).

Process Dependency

The Process Dependency tab on the Process Name form displays the processes that must be completed before the selected export process can run. For example, if you select LABOR_EXPORT on the Process Name form, the Process Dependency tab will display TOTAL_TIME_ACCOUNTING as one of the dependent processes. For each transaction that LABOR_EXPORT is processing, TOTAL_TIME_ACCOUNTING (if it is included with the transaction) must be completed.
