Shift Detail Policy

The Shift Detail Policy tab on the Shift Policy form will be used when the employee's Shift Policy has Shift via Policy checked. Note that the Shift Detail Policy settings are applicable only if the Shift Policy has the Shift via Policy box checked.

Shift Detail Policy Field Descriptions

Shift

Identifies which Shift is being used to determine the employee's shift premium. Shifts are created on the Shift Definition form.

Shift Start Time

Time when the shift begins. The Shift Start Time is used when determining which shift to apply to an event.

If Shift From Schedule is checked, the shift that has a Shift Start Time closest to the schedule start time will be used.

If Shift via Policy is checked, the shift that has a Shift Start Time closest to the event start time will be used.

If both Shift From Schedule and Shift via Policy are checked, the Shift From Schedule option will take precedence.

Note: If you want to specify the Shift Start Time, you must also check the Use Time box.

Use Time

The Use Time checkbox displays when you add or modify a Shift Detail Policy record. The Use Time box must be checked in order to use the Shift Start Time.

Update Date, Updated By

These fields display when the record was created or updated, and the person who created or updated the record.

 

Add a Shift Detail Policy

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Policies > Shift Policy.

  2. Select the policy to which you want to add shift details.

  3. On the Shift Detail Policy tab, click Add.

  4. Select a shift from the Shift drop-down field. The Shift records are created on the Shift Definition form.

  5. In the Shift Start Time field, select the time of day when the shift starts. Ensure that the Use Time box is checked  in order to use the fixed time.

  6. If you want to add more than one record, click Save and Add to save your settings and keep the Add window open. Or click Save to save your record and return to the main form.

 

Copy a Shift Detail Policy

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Policies > Shift Policy.

  2. Select the policy for which you want to copy shift details.

  3. On the Shift Detail Policy tab, select the record you want to duplicate.

  4. Click Copy.

  5. Change the settings as necessary.

  6. If you want to copy more than one record, click Save and Add to save your settings and keep the Copy window open. Or click Save to save your record and return to the main form.

 

Modify a Shift Detail Policy

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Policies > Shift Policy.

  2. Select the policy for which you want to modify shift details.

  3. On the Shift Detail Policy tab, select the record you want to modify.

  4. Click Modify.

  5. Change the settings as necessary and click Save.

 

Delete a Shift Detail Policy

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Policies > Shift Policy.

  2. Select the policy for which you want to delete shift details.

  3. On the Shift Detail Policy tab, select the record you want to delete.

  4. Click Delete.

  5. Click OK to confirm the action.
