Welcome to the Deltek Costpoint 2027.1 Release Notes, which describe the new features, enhancements, and software corrections introduced in this release.

Note: These release notes contain descriptions for the upcoming quarterly release (QR), which is scheduled for January 2027. While the applications and libraries containing some of the features are available ahead of this date for Pick and Choose (on-premises) deployments, these features will not be available until the Costpoint 2027.1 QR is deployed.

These release notes are preliminary and might not include all planned features before January 2027. We will update this page continuously until the release date. Please refresh this page in your browser to ensure you have the latest version.

These release notes address all of the modules associated with Deltek Costpoint 2027.1, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of Deltek Costpoint.

Cloud Customer Notes

Costpoint Cloud customers receive updates through Deltek’s managed quarterly release process. New features and enhancements are delivered as part of the Cloud update, and customers are encouraged to review these release notes together with Cloud-specific documentation in the Deltek Learning Hub (DLH) to understand feature availability and any configuration considerations unique to the Cloud environment.

• • SFTP Duo Authentication Policy Update

  • Cisco Duo has updated its operating system support policy, and devices running unsupported versions may be blocked from authenticating to Duo-protected services. As of July 27, 2026, Android 13 is no longer supported, and iOS 17.7.11 and earlier versions are also unsupported. Customers should ensure SFTP users and SaaS administrators use devices running Duo-supported operating systems to avoid access interruptions.

  • Customers should be moving to one of the following authentication methods:

    • SAML SSO (for example Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or ADFS)

    • OAuth (commonly used with SharePoint integrations)

    • Passkey (password-less login using device-based tokens)

  • In 2026.3, Costpoint users not using secure authentication methods will receive a weekly warning to move to a secure authentication method.

  • In 2026.4, Costpoint users not using secure authentication methods will receive multiple warnings each time they log in to move to a secure authentication method.

  • In 2027.1, Costpoint users will no longer be able to login using less secure authentication methods.

On-Premises Customer Notes

This section provides information specific to on-premises Costpoint customers, including release methodology updates, upgrade considerations, and guidance on applying and validating updates.

Moving to DLH Online Help: What On-Premises Customers Need to Know

Costpoint 2026.4 will be the final release that includes local help for on-premises deployments. Beginning with Costpoint 2027.1, local help will no longer be available, and all on-premises customers should use the online help available through the Deltek Learning Hub (DLH).

Updates to Quarterly Releases and Supported Versions

This update is intended to help on-premises customers understand how Quarterly Releases work, how to confirm whether their current version is supported, and what options are available when fixes are needed.

To remain eligible for code updates, customers should run a Costpoint version that is in either Active or Maintenance support. Versions in Sustaining support are no longer eligible for new defect repairs or downloadable fixes. If a fix is required and the customer is on a Sustaining version, the customer will need to upgrade to a supported version before Deltek can provide or recommend an applicable correction.

How to Confirm a Supported Version

• Review the Support Lifecycle: Deltek Costpoint Product Family knowledge base article to identify which Costpoint versions are currently in Active, Maintenance, or Sustaining support.

• Use the lifecycle status to plan upgrades before a version moves to Sustaining support.

• When opening a support case for a potential defect, confirm your current Costpoint version so Deltek can determine whether code updates are available for that release. You can do so by logging in to Costpoint then going to the View Help About screen where your version is displayed.

Receiving Fixes on Supported Versions

Once a customer is on a supported version, fixes may be obtained in one of the following ways, depending on the release and the nature of the correction:

• Use the pick-and-choose method to install specific patches that apply to the customer's supported version.

• Starting with 2026.3, use Cumulative Bundles to receive all applicable regulatory updates and defect repairs included for that supported release. Refer to the Costpoint Deploying Cumulative Bundles document for detailed installation and deployment procedures.

• In some cases, the required correction may already be included in a more recent Quarterly Release, making an upgrade the most efficient path to resolution.

Quarterly Release Expectations for On-Premises Customers

Deltek strongly recommends that on-premises customers apply at least two Quarterly Releases each calendar year. Staying current helps reduce upgrade complexity, improves access to defect corrections and regulatory updates, and keeps the customer within the supported lifecycle window.

Customers may plan to skip one QR as part of their annual upgrade strategy; however, remaining on older releases for too long increases the risk of moving into Sustaining support, where fixes are not provided. Calendar Year End updates are delivered separately and are compatible with the current year's Q2 release and later.

Important Support Reminder

• Deltek provides defect repairs and downloadable fixes only for versions in Active or Maintenance support.

• If a customer is on a Sustaining version, the appropriate next step is to upgrade to a supported release before requesting or applying a fix.

• Keeping current with at least two QRs per year helps ensure continued access to regulatory updates, critical corrections, and the most efficient support path.

We encourage customers to incorporate Quarterly Release planning into their regular maintenance cycle and to use available testing and upgrade planning resources to reduce effort and risk.

Costpoint version numbers reflect the year and quarter of release beginning with the 2025 Q1 release, such as 2025.1, 2025.2, and later. Customers should refer to the Support Lifecycle: Deltek Costpoint Product Family knowledge base article for the current release listing and support phase details.

By remaining on a supported version and applying at least two Quarterly Releases per year, on-premises customers can better maintain compliance readiness, reduce upgrade risk, and ensure Deltek can provide the appropriate fixes and guidance when issues arise.

Using These Release Notes for Pick and Choose

The Build Deployed In and Dependent Files lines for defects and the list of required files included in enhancement descriptions are meant to support the Pick and Choose deployment model. If your company or system supports Pick and Choose, refer to the Downloading and Deploying Pick and Choose Hot Fixes section of these release notes for more information.

If you do not support Pick and Choose, you may ignore the deployed and dependent files listed in this document.

Downloading and Deploying Pick and Choose Hot Fixes

Note: The Build Deployed In and Dependent Files lines are included in every defect description under the Software Issues Resolved section. These indicate the files that you need to install to apply the fix for the defect. For Regulatory Enhancements and Enhancements, required files are listed towards the end of the feature description. 

Checking if the Hot Fix is Installed

Follow this procedure to see if the hot fix is correctly installed:

1. Open the application that was updated.

2. Click Help » About from the Costpoint global menu. This will display a screen that shows you the latest hot fix files applied to the application that is open.

Checking if the Feature is Installed

Follow this procedure to see if the feature is correctly installed:

1. Click Help » About from the Costpoint global menu.

2. Open the Features subtask and click the feature that was just installed.

3. Open the Libraries subtask. Check the list of libraries and see if they are correct and have been successfully deployed.

4. Open the Patches subtask. Check the list of patches and see if they are correct and have been successfully deployed.

Custom Programs Affected

Sometimes, an update can cause custom programs and reports to stop working as expected. Before applying an update, consider whether you have any custom programs or reports in the application area affected by the update. If so, contact Deltek Support Center at https://deltek.custhelp.com before you install the update.

Defect 2868165: When you manually entered a Voucher No higher than 2147483647, an error message displayed. This issue was resolved for users of Costpoint with an Oracle database. For MS SQL users, Voucher No entries remain limited only up to 2147483647.

Defect 2884102: When you entered a multicurrency voucher through a web service and the voucher had the same non-USD transaction and pay currency and a blank Rate Group ID, you encountered an error.

Defect 2546517: When you completed a succeeding task in a closing plan, Costpoint populated the Completed By field of the preceding task with your user ID.

Defect 2665414: When you imported a journal entry with an inactive account or organization, Costpoint did not assign the replacement values configured in Journal Entry Preprocessor Settings. Instead, the error report indicated the record was replaced but failed to assign the replacement values.

Defect 2642774: When you ran the Purge Report Table Data for PSR Header, processing completed with errors due to an invalid column name 'S_REV_FORMULA_CD'.

Defect 2400126: When you viewed the approval workflow, Extensibility fields displayed twice.

Defect 2424872: When you attempted to attach to Bill of Materials in the new CMI area (Manage Manufacturing Bills of Material), you either received no error or encountered a critical error message indicating a failure to invoke an application-specific class due to a SQL parsing issue.

Defect 2635174: When you navigated to Manage Engineering Change Notices, entered a new ECN, added an impacted part, selected the impacted part, and clicked the MBOM Components subtask, the Close button in the lower-right corner below the Details pane did not perform any action when clicked. 

For Pick and Choose deployment: If you choose not to apply this hotfix, as a workaround, you can use the X button to close the MBOM Components subtask.

Defect 2641848: When you clicked the Click here to approve button in the approval email notification, an error displayed stating that you did not have rights to execute the approval process.

Defect 2669333: When you clicked Print Record in the new UI, the report did not run until it was clicked a second time.

Defect 2872543: When you selected New Revision as Action Code and clicked New on the MBOM Components subtask, you encountered a system error.

Defect 2839178: When you reversed the manufacturing order (MO) issue transaction IMO-015982 row 6 via the reverse transaction function, an Oracle ORA-02291 integrity constraint violation occurred, stating "parent key not found." 

For Pick and Choose deployment: If you choose not to apply this hotfix, as a workaround, you can reopen the MO first before reversing the issue.

Defect 2852216: When you attempted to autoload purchase order/requisition information, an UndefinedContextException occurred during phantom component expansion.

For Pick and Choose deployment: If you choose not to apply this hotfix, as a workaround, you can manually add the quantities together for the two find numbers and enter a single line on the reservation.

Defect 2871952: When you entered a need date via load header and saved, the need date was not retained on the reservation detail line.

Defect 2872136: When posting inventory failed, a generic error message displayed instead of a descriptive one.

Defect 2884299: When you attempted to process a rejection reason code, you encountered a null value error.

Defect 2840583: When Substitute Part Planning Order was set to Original Part Across Projects or Original/Substitute in Demand Project, MRP planning produced incorrect results.

Defect 2840582: When Substitute Part Planning Order was set to Original Part Across Projects or Original/Substitute in Demand Project, MRP planning produced incorrect results.

Defect 2732556: When you ran the MRP supply calculation, it did not recognize return material authoriation (RMA)-accepted inventory against the sales order referencing the same RMA, resulting in the creation of a redundant planned order.

Defect 2873197: When you viewed the AI summary boxes for Vendor Suggestion Summary, data lines were not spaced correctly.

Defect 2892129: When you changed/deleted the document ID, the document type did not update to reflect the latest change. 

Defect 2876766: When you generated a multiple-line blanket with the purchase requisition initial status set to Pending, only the first line was generated on the purchase order (PO).

Defect 2880079: When you assigned a second requisition to an existing open blanket purchase order (PO) and converted it to a PO line while the Configure Purchasing Settings Allow Pending Lines in Open, Closed, or System Closed POs was not selected, Costpoint did not add the new line to the blanket. 

When you used print preview, the blanket header status changed to Pending without creating a corresponding pending line, leaving the requisition in approved status and pointing to a blanket line that was never created. When you skipped print preview, the line was added to the blanket in pending status, and the blanket header changed to pending with an open line.

Defect 2885934: When you generated a multiple-line release pucrchase order (PO) against an existing blanket PO, only line 1 was created on the PO.

Defect 2891754: When you changed/deleted the document ID, the document type did not update to reflect the latest change. 

Defect 2798581: When you imported PPJ records, an invalid Project ID was displayed.

Defect 2882451: When you attempted to disable a part with project requirements, the part remained enabled if a record existed in the INVT table where the project IDs matched and any of the specified location quantities exceeded zero. Conversely, the part was incorrectly disabled when no matching record existed in the INVT_WHS_LOC_SR_LT table.

Defect 2880112: When you opened the Assigned Vendors subtask, a client-side JavaScript alert displayed and the Vendor PO Status field failed to render correctly if a vendor assigned to the subcontract operation had a vendor purchase order control code value of H (On-Hold).

Defect 2888033: When you re-queried a saved manufacturing order issue, the Issue Lines subtask displayed incorrect values in the Required Qty and Issued Qty columns. All lines beyond line 1 showed the MO_RQMT values from line 1 instead of their own values. The Extended Cost column rendered correctly, confirming the TRN_QTY read path functioned properly.

Defect 2832274: When you attempted to update manufacturing order (MO) requirements to a new bill or materials (BOM) revision, Costpoint blocked deletion of the outdated requirement row with an error, even though no valid routing was attached to the new revision.

Defect 2892131: When you changed/deleted the document ID, the document type did not update to reflect the latest change. 

Defect 2878430: When you updated the purchase orders (blanket or releases) organization ID using the preprocessor, the master blanket amount calculated to an incorrect value.

Defect 2822765: When you viewed purchase order (PO) payment schedules, schedule amounts displayed incorrectly.

Defect 2839708: When you manually entered a tax rate in a purchase order (PO) line, the tax rate defaulted back to the tax rate from the tax code after creating a new line.

 

For Pick and Choose deployment: If you choose not to apply this hotfix, as a workaround, you can edit the PO line's tax rate after saving the PO.

Defect 2840293: When a buyer attempted to save changes to certain purchase orders, Costpoint re-checked older, already-closed lines and rejected the save if it found a deactivated account or account-and-organization pairing, even though the new line was valid.

Defect 2843533: When you created a purchase order with a header document, a system error occurred upon saving.

For Pick and Choose deployment: If you choose not to apply this hotfix, as a workaround, you can avoid selecting any document before checking the Reference Document checkbox.

Defect 2867303: When you added a reference subcontractor ID in the PO Header, the purchase order line perod of performance (start/end) was deleted.

Defect 2872918: When you clicked Smart Summary or Audit Readiness, the output data lines were not spaced properly.

Defect 2891190: When you changed/deleted the document ID, the document type did not update to reflect the latest change. 

Defect 2873655: When you changed the extended cost amount and manually closed the purchase order (PO), the report displayed a negative PO total amount.

Defect 2554130: When you used the Paste Data from Excel function, the Cost Elements fields were not editable.

Defect 2576982: When you selected the Acceptance Quality Level field on the second or subsequent lines, the field lost focus, requiring you to reselect it to enter a quantity.

Defect 2853344: When you attempted to delete a Manage Quality Control Inspection record after splitting the same lot, an error displayed stating that the transaction would cause the inventory balance to go negative.

For Pick and Choose deployment: If you choose not to apply this hotfix, as a workaround, you can accept the material and correct the lot information after the material is at the on-hand location.

Defect 2865604: In Web Integration Console (EIC), when the integration sent a MERGE call to update prices on an existing sales order, the service responded with an OE_BASE_GROSS_MUST_EQUAL error for each existing line. The error stated that the baseline and gross unit prices must be equal when components were not processed. However, the prices saved correctly despite the error.

For Pick and Choose deployment: If you choose not to apply this hotfix, as a workaround, you can manually verify that the updated prices are saved correctly after encountering the error. No further action is required, as Costpoint commits the correct data despite the error message.

Defect 2892132: When you changed/deleted the document ID, the document type did not update to reflect the latest change.

Defect 2406483: The Leave History entry used the leave accrual account instead of the gain or loss account.

Defect 2868294: When the timesheet cycle and pay cycle were biweekly, overtime calculations excluded some timesheet lines and incorrectly recast overtime by calculating it only on FLSA overtime pay types.

Defect 2873719: When you retrieved data, no status was selected by default. When you open the screen, it now defaults to display only Active and Family Medical Leave employees unless another status is selected.

Defect 2872563: When managers performed a search, indirect inactive employees were incorrectly included in the search results.

Defect 2864982: When you had creator access to a higher-level org, Costpoint did not extend that access to the org's child levels.

Defect 2889309: When you ran a simple query, you encountered intermittent locked up issue.

Defect 2866773: When you created a new business budget from EAC or project budget, Costpoint displayed an error.

Defect 2873513: When your admin user rights were removed, you lost the ability to activate or inactivate line items.

Defect 2881232: When you accessed New Business Budgets with an org ID assigned in Manage Security Org Rights, they were not displayed.

Defect 2883894: When you tried to merge records on the Labor Full Time Equivalent subtask, a merge error occurred due to duplicate FTE records.

Defect 2873195: Adjusted the Pop Ended parameter to evaluate the current period start date instead of the current period end date, ensuring records were processed using the correct period date.

Defect 2883830: When you disabled reporting access for a user in the Manage Project Org Based Security app, the user was still able to locate the project in multiple reporting apps and successfully run EAC reports despite the access restriction.

Defect 2880150: When you entered data into the COST_TYPE column, it truncated values exceeding the 50-character limit in dynamic tables and dynamic result sets.

Defect 2864083: When you accessed the Revenue Integration app, a system error occurred.

Defect 2873728: When you created an EAC, Costpoint took longer than expected to process the request.

Defect 2421351: Oracle took longer to process than expected.

Defect 2615088: When ceilings were not established at the budget level, prior months failed to calculate Burden Cost Ceilings per resource. This resulted in EAC adjustments to actuals to align calculated prior months in Planning with amounts found in Costpoint.

Defect 2710603: When you encountered the “Missing Hours data and Resource already in use” error, the screen did not refresh automatically.

Defect 2732412: When you rearranged columns from the default layout, saved the changes, and reopened Planning, the Total field on the Hours subtask became non-editable.

Defect 2737057: When you performed a recalculation, revenue adjustments from the accounting system were removed from the Revenue Analysis and Analysis by Period report.

Defect 2830252: When adding an employee to a budget, Costpoint assigned default values based on outdated PLC, ORG, and ACCT logic. The default assignment logic was updated to correctly apply default values to newly added resources.

Defect 2855234: When you modified the PLC rate schedule from Costpoint, changes did not persist after adjusting BUD/EAC.

Defect 2868287: When you tried to Execute a project, common bind variables were not initialized on the class header.

Defect 2889101: When you recalculated EAC combining Consultant, Vendor, and Employee rows with different rates, Costpoint merged them into a single original rate.

Defect 2866837: When you tried to reassign a resource with an underscore in its ID or name, an error occurred.

Defect 2867894: When you ran this application, the multicurrency contract and funded values did not populate correctly.

Defect 2865201: When you calculated contract and funded values for a project without billing currency ceilings, Costpoint did not populate the values using the MU values and the exchange rate based on the invoice date.

Defect 2866778: Updates related to multi-user processing in the Update Billing Tables Bill Labor Category Description application were rolled back.

Defect 2865060: When you generated the Project Status Report in PDF format after upgrading to Costpoint 2026.3, the Table of Contents section did not display.

Defect 2866872: When you queried a project in Manage Modifications, the query took longer than expected to return results.

Defect 2882373: When you ran this application, Costpoint did not copy the MU amounts into the PSR_PY_SUM table. This issue affects Multicurrency users.

Defect 2870140: You encountered an error when importing multiple records using the WA_ROLES.CSV input file.

For Pick and Choose deployment: If you choose not to apply this hotfix, as a workaround, you can enter multiple records directly in the Roles subtask of Manage Work Assignments.

Defect 2700575: In Costpoint Mobile, when you opened the Expense Report Types screen, the screen title was misaligned.

Defect 2668421: When a supervisor revised one or more submitted expense reports, expense report revision emails were not sent to all affected users.

Defect 2830021: When you asked Dela to create an expense report, Dela did not recognize the request and responded with "I can do it yet."

Defect 1949853: When a supervisor rejected a Processed timesheet at the same time as the employee corrected it, the timesheet status changed to Rejected, but the button did not change from Correct to Undo Correct.

Defect 2698533: In PWA mode, the Action Menu was not displayed.

Defect 2462977: In PWA mode, the Approve Timesheet title was missing.

Defect 2560785: White space was displayed in the Timesheet Lines border.

Defect 2561142: When you asked Dela to delete all time entries in a timesheet, a confirmation message indicated that the entries were deleted, but the time entries remained.

Defect 2568467: When you asked Dela to reduce hours on a time entry, you received a confirmation message that the hours were reduced, but the time entry remained unchanged.

Defect 2569252: When you submitted the same prompt to Dela multiple times, you received different responses, including errors, successful results, and unsuccessful actions.

Defect 2600365: When you resized the window in the Timesheet Table view, the total lines were cut off, and no vertical scroll displayed to view them.

Defect 2610206: When you asked Dela to enter time on a timesheet, the entered hours did not match the timesheet class increment.

Defect 2619944: When you asked Dela to add hours to an existing charge and provided the requested hours and date, Dela responded with "I cannot do it yet."

Defect 2704458: When you clicked the Open in Costpoint link from a timesheet correction approval or rejection notification, the timesheet incorrectly indicated that the period was closed.

There are no security enhancements or security issues addressed in this release.
