FieldDescription
Assessment Factors

This column lists the assessment descriptions assigned to the assessment format. A maximum of 10 descriptions may display here.

You set up assessment descriptions on the Manage Performance Assessment Descriptions screen, and you assign them to assessment formats on the Manage Performance Assessment Formats screen.

Rating

Enter, or click to select, your rating on each assessment factor. Valid values are only those that exist on the Manage Performance Rating Codes screen. Ratings that display in the lookup have the Show in Lookup checkbox selected in Manage Performance Rating Codes. Only ratings that are available in the lookup can be used for new assessment records in Manage Contracts. Ratings may range from Not Applicable or Unsatisfactory to Exceptional. Each rating has an equivalent score that displays in the Score column.

Score

This column displays the score assigned to the rating you selected in the Rating column. Scores range from 0 to 10.

Exclude From Calculation

This checkbox defaults its value from the Exclude From Calculation setting defined for the rating code on the Manage Performance Rating Codes screen and cannot be edited on this subtask. When selected, the rating code and its associated score are excluded from the overall assessment calculation. Any assessment factor that uses this rating code is not included in the computed performance assessment score.

This option is typically used for rating codes that are informational only (for example, Not Applicable (NA), Insufficient Data, or similar values) and should not affect scoring. Excluding these codes ensures that only relevant assessment factors are included in the calculated results.

For example, a contract includes five assessment factors, each worth 10 points. One factor is marked Not Applicable (NA) with a score of 0.

  • If NA is included

The factor remains in the calculation and contributes 0 points.

    Result: 25 out of 50 = 50%

  • If NA is excluded

The factor is removed from the calculation.

    Result: 25 out of 40 = 60%

Excluded factors do not contribute to the score. As a result, values such as NA do not lower the overall score, and the calculated results reflect only evaluated and relevant factors.

Note: For Costpoint Cloud, you can choose to opt in to this feature for the Costpoint 2026.3 release. The ability to opt in is temporary and will be removed when the feature becomes automatically enabled for all users as part of a future Costpoint release. See the Manage Opt-In Features topic for more information.
Comments

Use this column to indicate any additional comments about a specific assessment factor.

Section Total Score

This field displays the total score over the highest possible score for this section of the assessment.

The highest possible score is based on the number of assessment factors included in the calculation. Factors with the Exclude From Calculation checkbox selected are not included and do not contribute to the total possible score.

For example, if there are 8 assessment factors, each worth 10 points, the highest possible score is 80. If one factor is excluded, the highest possible score is reduced to 70. If the calculated score is 68, this field displays 68/70.

This score is included in the Total Score on the Performance Assessment tab.
