Import Multiple Project Server Projects as a Single Project
Use these steps to link to and import data from multiple projects on a Project Web App (PWA) site into a single project in Acumen.
To import multiple project server projects as a single project:
- In Acumen, select the S1 // Projects tab.
- In the Get External Data From group, click the Microsoft Project drop-down arrow and select All Projects from Microsoft Project Server as a Single Project.
- On the Import from Microsoft Project Server dialog box, select or enter the URL for the PWA site. If you are not currently logged into the PWA site, a login dialog box displays where you can enter your credentials. If the login dialog box doesn't display, click Sign in as a different user to access the dialog box.
- Click Refresh.
-
In the Import column, use the check boxes to select multiple projects from the list.
Note: The grid lists all projects located on that Project Server so make sure you only select those to which you have access.
- Click OK. If the selected projects have different Time Now dates, Acumen displays a message letting you know and asking if you would like to import all the projects and use the latest Time Now date. After import, you can see the Time Now date on the Activity Details Pane Status tab.
-
On the Project Name dialog box, enter a project name and click
OK.
By default, the field lists all of the selected projects as the project name.
After you click OK, the projects are linked to Acumen and the Project Name that you entered displays in the Projects pane.
After import, you can change the project name on the Activity Details Pane General tab in the Original Project Name field.
You can change one or more of the projects that are included in this single project by navigating to the Activity Details Pane General tab and clicking the ellipses button on the Original Project Name field.
If the you experience timeouts on the server or if the system becomes too slow or unusable, consider setting the Number of Rows per Server Request to a higher or lower number. This field sets the number of rows that Acumen will request each time from the server. For example, if you set the number to 10, Acumen requests the first 10 rows and then goes back for 10 more, and so on. This field is located in the Deltek Acumen Options dialog box on the Platforms (Microsoft) page.
NEXT STEP: Import the project data into Acumen.
