Accordion Calendar Format Dialog Box

Use the Accordion Calendar Format dialog box to specify the time periods used on the calendar grids for the Labor, Expenses, Consultants, and Units tabs.

Location

To display the dialog box, complete the following steps:

1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Planning > Project Planning.
2. On the toolbar, click Options > Configure Planning Grids.
3. Select the rows to display in the accordion calendar grids and click OK.
4. On the toolbar, click Options > Accordion Calendar Format.

Field	Description
Starting Day of the Week	Select the starting day of the week for the calendar period.
Accordion Calendar Format Drop-down	Click the drop-down arrow on a grid header to complete any of the following actions: To print grid data, click Print. When the Print Preview form displays, click File > Print to send the grid data to your default printer. To export grid data to an Excel spreadsheet, click Export to Excel. When Microsoft Excel opens, use its features to modify, print, or email the data, or to save the spreadsheet file locally. To turn on grouping for a grid, click Enable Grouping. When a field displays with the instruction: "Drag a column header here to group by that column," drag and drop column headers into this field, in the sequence that you want them to display. Not all options are available on all grids.
Copy	Click this option to copy the contents of the preceding row and insert a new row.
Delete	Highlight the row and click this option to remove it from the grid.
Start Date	Enter the date or click and select the date. If you change the start date for a plan that already has elements with dates attached, Vision asks if you want to shift the data. Select Yes to shift the dates accordingly. Select No to change the start date only. By default, the date in the first Start Date field on the Accordion Calendar Format dialog box is the same as the plan's start date.
End Date	Enter the date or click and select the date. Make sure that this date is late enough to encompass the latest end date for your plan's phases and tasks. If the activity pushes a row's end date past the designated end of the calendar, the amounts in those periods are moved to the Overflow column at the end of the calendar grid. You can then re-configure the calendar to allow enough periods to handle the overflow.
Bottom Scale	Your setting in the Bottom Scale field determines the set of time periods that display in the bottom row of the header on the Accordion Calendar grid. These are the units of time by which the corresponding Top Scale are divided. Select one of the following options from the drop-down list: Day — This option sets a daily time period. Week — This option sets a weekly time period. Bi-Weekly — This option sets a two-week period, starting on a Monday and ending on a Sunday. Semi-Monthly — This option sets one semi-monthly period that runs from the first to the fifteenth of the month; the second semi-monthly period runs from the sixteenth to the end of the month. The number of days in the month does not change how this setting works. Month — This option sets a monthly time period. Quarter — This option sets a quarterly time period. Accounting Period — This option is based on your organization's accounting period structure and allows you to line up custom date ranges for periods and plans with your organization's true accounting periods. When you select this option, you must set up the Accounting Calendar with enough periods to cover your organization's planning requirements.
Top Scale	Your setting in the Top Scale field determines the time periods that display in the header along the top of the Accordion Calendar grid. Because the Top Scale is typically a longer period of time than the corresponding Bottom Scale, the settings available for the Top Scale option depend on your Bottom Scale selection.
