Spread Costs Evenly

You can spread costs evenly over the selected period.

Each period will receive an amount that is calculated as follows:

(Spread Amount/Total Business Days) * Cell Business Days

The total business days are the number of business days between the start date and the end date that you specify on the Spread Evenly dialog box.

To spread costs evenly, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Planning > Project Planning.
  2. Open a plan record.
  3. Click the Labor, Expenses, or Consultants tab.
  4. Select the date on which you will begin to spread costs. On the Planning grid, right-click a Compensation Cost, Consultant Cost, or Reimbursable Cost cell.
  5. Click Spread Evenly.

    The Spread Evenly dialog box displays. The From: field in the Period Range automatically displays the date on which you will begin to spread costs.

  6. Use the drop-down list in the To: field to select the date on which to stop spreading costs.
  7. Enter the amount to be spread and click OK.
