Use this procedure to respread costs.
To change the work package dates and respread the costs:
On the Navigation menu, click Workflows » Change Management.
In the List view, select the change request.
On the General tab of the Change Request form, click the Change Details button to display the Change Details view and barchart display.
In the Change Details grid, select the work package associated with the dates you want to change.
If there is no activity linked to the work package in the Change Details grid or on the General tab, do one or both of the following:
Select a new date in the Requested Baseline Start date field.
Select a new date in the Requested Baseline Finish date field.
PM Compass displays the following message: "Do you want to respread the budget within the new work package dates?"
If you select Yes, PM Compass will respread both the existing budget and any newly added budget over the remaining periods within the new dates.
If you select No, PM Compass will not respread, and the budget will not spread to the new work package dates. Instead, it will either be extended with zero periods or certain periods may be deleted.
If the new work package dates fall within the budget spread, PM Compass displays the existing spread, including data outside the work package. However, any newly added budget beyond the work package finish date will be removed, resulting in a change to the total.
If the new work package dates fall outside of the budget spread, PM Compass displays the existing spread with zero-value periods extended to the end of the work package. Additionally, any newly added budget will be included in the new period.
If you insert a new resource, you can enter data in the new periods.
If an activity is associated with the work package and you expand the work package to display the activities that have newly calculated early dates, resulting in changes to the work package dates, PM Compass displays the following message:
"Do you want to respread the budget within the new work package dates?"
If you select Yes, PM Compass will respread both the existing budget and any newly added budget over the remaining periods within the new dates.
If you select No, PM Compass will not respread at the moment; however, the integration that is run after the modeling session will respread the budget—both the existing budget and any newly added budget. On the Costs tab, the budget is not spread to the new work package dates. Instead, it is either extended with zero periods, or certain periods may be deleted.
If the activities are resource-loaded, the work package costs are updated based on the activity resource spread during the integration after the modeling session.
