Define Project Codes in Open Plan

To make the fields available in the Open Plan Field Name list on the Source Fields tab in the User-Defined Data form, you must first define the project codes in Open Plan.

To define project codes in Open Plan:

  1. In Open Plan, click Tools ยป Options.

  2. In the Options dialog box Codes tab, click the Ellipsis button.

  3. In the Code Files column, select a code file that contains the list of user IDs.

  4. In the Code field to assign code file to column, select the code field to which you want to assign the code file, and click Assign.

  5. In the Code File Prompt dialog box, enter a prompt that you want Open Plan to display to identify the code file, and click OK.

  6. In the Assign Code dialog box, click OK.

    A message displays asking if you want to modify the table structure.

  7. Click Yes to modify the table structure and have the field available in PM Compass.

    If you click No, the field will be added as a user-defined field but will not be available in PM Compass.

  8. In the Open Plan DBA Login dialog box, enter the User ID and Password of a user that has access rights to modify the database table structure.

  9. Close and restart Open Plan to modify the database.

  10. Right-click your Open Plan project and select Project Properties.

  11. On the Codes tab, select the user ID you want PM Compass to use in the workflow.

  12. Close Open Plan.

  13. Log into PM Compass and add a source field to a table.
