User Field Mapping Overview

Use the User Field Mapping view to designate what source fields are available as user fields in the workflow process.

You can designate fields that will be available as user fields in the workflow and alerts.

When using the User Field Mapping view, it is important to keep in mind the following points:

User Field Mapping Grid

This grid displays the user field labels, list of tables, and the user fields that are available.

User Field Mapping

Click the drop-down arrow to display the following options: 

  • Print: Select this option to display the Print Preview form with the grid’s contents displayed.

  • Export to Excel: Select this option to display the Microsoft Excel application with the grid’s contents displayed.

Insert

Click this button to add a new row to the User Field Mapping grid. The new row is created below the current row.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected row from the grid.

Table

Use this field to select a table. Your options are:

  • Control Account

  • Work Package

  • Project

  • Schedule Project

  • Code file validating control account field 1

  • Code file validating control account field 2

  • Code file validating control account field 3

  • Activity: When you select this table, only user character fields are supported, not code fields.

You can sort a column by clicking the column header.

Field

Use this field to select a field from the list.

User Field Label

Use this field to enter the label that will be displayed in the user field lists in PM Compass.

When you are labeling user-defined fields and mapping user fields, you should not use the same label. Label the activity user field Activity Assignee or Act CAM. Otherwise it will be difficult to interpret the assignment mapping grid.
