SQL Where Clause Search

The SQL Where Clause search is only available for users who are members of the SYSADMIN group. Using the SQL Where Clause display type for your search allows you (as a SYSADMIN user) to enter or modify an SQL statement that you want to use for a search using SQL operators. If you enter incorrect syntax or invalid operators, an error message displays and you can write corrections directly into the SQL statement.

When you are used to tables and columns in the tables, sometimes it is quicker and easier for you  to write a script that returns the exact records that you need. However, you should only use the SQL Where Clause display type if you are familiar with SQL statements. While an error message displays when you have used invalid statements and this message indicates the approximate location of the error, you still need to fix the error before a valid search can occur.
