Create a Work Breakdown Structure for a New Contract

You can create a work breakdown structure (WBS) when you create a new contract.

If you create a new contract from an existing record, the new contract inherits the existing WBS structure. Each contract can have multiple phases and each phase can have multiple tasks.

To create a WBS for a new contract, complete the following steps:

  1. From the GovWin Capture Management Navigation menu, click Info Center > Contracts.
  2. On the Contract Info Center form, click New and select New Contract . GovWin Capture Management opens a blank contract record.
  3. Enter the contracts information and click Save.
  4. Click New and select New Phase. GovWin Capture Management opens a new phase record that is based on data from the contract record.
  5. On the General tab, enter a unique name and number for the phase, enter the rest of the phase information, and then click Save.
  6. Click New and select New Task. GovWin Capture Management opens a new task record that is based on data from the contract and phase records.
  7. On the General tab, enter a unique name and number for the task, enter the rest of the task information, and then click Save.
Continue to add phases and tasks until you complete the WBS.
