The Custom Prompt form is used to create and modify custom event prompts. You can define custom event prompts in this form and on the Prompt tab of the Events form. However, you must use the Custom Prompt form to change the Description or Prompt Data Type of a Custom Prompt.

Prompt Name
Prompt Name identifies the event prompt. See Event Prompt Names for descriptions of these event prompts.
Description
Description of the custom event prompt.
Prompt Data Type
Determines what kind of data can be entered for the event prompt. Available options are Integer, Double (decimal number), and String (text).
Minimum Length
Minimum length of the value that the user will enter in response to the event prompt.
Maximum Length
Maximum length of the value that the user will enter in response to the event prompt.
Semantic Name
Semantic Name identifies a column name in the semantic_map table. The semantic_map table is used to map prompt input data to a database table and column where the data can be read more easily and can be used for reporting purposes. For example, if you choose the Semantic Name “Order Num,” the prompt input data will be placed in the order_num field of the trans_action_data table.
Default Label
Text the user sees when presented with this event prompt. The Default Label only appears when you add a Custom Prompt. You can modify the Default Label using the Dictionary Label form.
Update Date, Updated By
These fields display when the record was created or updated, and the person who created or updated the record.
Click Main Menu > Configuration > Event > Custom Prompt.
To find a specific Custom Prompt, select it from the Prompt Name field at the top of the form.
Click Find.
The Custom Prompts will appear in the grid.
Click Main Menu > Configuration > Event > Custom Prompt.
Click Add.
Enter a Prompt Name and use the remaining fields to define your Custom Prompt.
If you want to add more than one Custom Prompt, click Save and Add to save your settings and keep the Add window open. Or click Save to save your Custom Prompt and return to the main form.
Click Main Menu > Configuration > Event > Custom Prompt.
Select the Custom Prompt you want to edit and click Modify.
You can change the Description, Prompt Data Type, Minimum Length, Maximum Length, and Semantic Name.
Click Save when you are done.
Click Main Menu > Configuration > Event > Custom Prompt.
Select the Custom Prompt and click Delete.
Click OK to confirm the action.
Click Main Menu > Configuration > Event > Custom Prompt.
Select the Custom Prompt you want to duplicate and click Copy.
Use the fields to further the Custom Prompt.
If you want to duplicate more than one Custom Prompt, click Save and Add to save your settings and keep the Copy window open. Or click Save to save your Custom Prompt and return to the main form.
