Import Employee Skills from CSV Dialog Box

Use the Import Employee Skills From CSV dialog box to map the fields in your .CSV file to the corresponding fields in Deltek CRM and to run the process to import employee skills information from the .CSV file.

Location

To display the Import Employee Skills from CSV dialog box, complete the following steps:

1. In the Configuration workspace, click on the left edge of the Deltek CRM page to go to the Integrations & Imports area.
2. Click the Imports tab.
3. Click Employee Skills.

The Import Employee Skills from CSV dialog box first prompts you to select your .CSV file.

Field	Description
BROWSE	Click BROWSE, navigate to and select the .CSV file, and click Open.
Next	Click Next to go to the next step in preparing for the import process.

After you select the .CSV file and click Next, the Import Employee Skills From CSV dialog box displays a different set of controls so you can map the fields in the .CSV file to Deltek CRM fields and start the import process.

Field	Description
Do not import duplicate records	If you do not want the import process to import any information for an employee skill that already exists in Deltek CRM, select this option.
Update duplicate records	If you want the import process to update fields in Deltek CRM for an employee skill that already exists, select this option. If a field in the existing employee skills record is blank or contains information that is different from information in the mapped field in the .CSV file, the field in the existing record is updated with the information from the .CSV file.
Delete existing records and import	If you want the import process to delete all employee skills records for all employees in Deltek CRM and then import the contents of the .CSV file, select this option. This option is useful if the .CSV file always contains all the current skills information for all of your employees.
SOURCE FILE FIELD	This column contains the field names from your .CSV file. Deltek CRM assumes that the first row of the .CSV file is a header row and that the values in that row are the field names.
DELTEK FIELD	Use the fields in this column to select the Deltek CRM employee skills field that corresponds to each of the .CSV file fields that you want to import. If the .CSV file contains fields that you do not want to import, select Do not import for those fields. The first time you display this dialog box, it attempts to provide default field mappings based on the field names in your .CSV file and the field names in Deltek CRM. Review those default mappings and change any that are incorrect. Thereafter, your previous field mappings display by default.
SAMPLE VALUE	This column displays the value for each field from the first data row in your .CSV file.
Employee skills to be imported	This field displays the number of employee skill records that your .CSV file contains.
Import	To start the import process, click this button. The import process does the following: If you selected Delete existing records and import, it deletes all existing skills information for all employees currently in Deltek CRM. It adds records for employee skills that do not exist in Deltek CRM. If you selected Update duplicate records, it updates mapped fields in Deltek CRM based on the information in the .CSV file for any employee skills that already exist in Deltek CRM.
Cancel	To close the dialog box without running the import process, click this button. If you mapped fields, you will have to do the mapping again if you decide to run the import at a later time.
